Support experience Nicrew Aquarium Lamp

I bought an aquarium lamp from Nicrew one year ago, recently the light controller stopped working completely, i followed up with the warranty and asked them for aid and advice.
They said that since the piece was not produced anymore they would refund the whole amount minus amazon quota (about 1.5 euro) and so they did.
Their support was sharp, fast and precise i had a personal agent (Aurora) answering any possible question and solution.
In an era where aftersales put you on hold for days they solved the issue in no time while being extremely polite.
I totally advice it.

I bought $100’s of aquariums (16light/…

I bought $100’s of aquariums (16light/ total) lights a just over year ago. They all started failing just after the warranty expired. I call them Amazon and they tell me to call Nicrew. They started failing just as the warranty expired. The last on was yesterday. I have 16 aquariums with patched up lighting. Currently my fish Tanks are sharing old light hoods that I have borrowed or had in my garage. I have a 55 gal old light hood. This hood is covering 6 tank four 5 gal and two 10 gallons. I have a 30 gal hood covering 3 tanks 5gal tanks. I have 2x 20 gal hoods on my two of my 30 gals which I borrowed. This isn’t enough light but better than nothing. My 75 and 50gallon have a lights i bought from Alibaba.com months ago and they works great.

This is horrible service. I taking over $800 in lights gone right after the warranty. Amazon won’t help me either. I can’t afford to replace them, I breed fish and now I have to get rid of a lot of my fish because of this. This Company doesn’t care about the animal or the customer.

Excellent communication and went way above what i expected

I bought an item of amazon, i had problems with it powering up. Possibly user error.
I returned item for full refund. A week later i was contacted by Nicrew, they apologised, then tried to find out the problem and went above and beyond to send me another item free of charge for further feedback and to try and see if the fault was from my end.
Communication was excellent and it was an absoulute pleasure to deal with someone that actually put the customer first in this way.
Well deserved 5 stars and if the rest of the world rolled this way we would all be that bit happier...
If my experience is the way they roll then buy with confidence !
Person i dealt with was named Margaret, great comms and great customer service !!!

Avoid

Avoid.

There's basically no reply from their support if you have trouble with any of their products for more than a month now.

Also there's no respect of EU law of mandatory warranty of at least 1 year for their products so i guess i'll file an official complaint so their products will be banned from commercialisation in the EU given the situation.

Better to use local distributors of competitor products which actually offer decent warranty and support or understand that nicrew products might be "your risk usage" given nobody will help , so take that into account before purchasing.

Penny wise and pound foolish

Last month, when I first tried to program Nicrew’s 7-day timer, I was not successful. Then I re-read their instruction manual and saw that buried in the middle of it was a vital, poorly written instruction that should have been more clearly written and then highlighted by placing it at the very beginning of the manual. I managed to follow this instruction and then was able to program the timer successfully. Then I emailed Nicrew and suggested that they incorporate my revised version of their instruction and place it at the beginning of their manual. My revised version made it clear that, when programming the timer, the first step is programming the current time and that, when doing so, the on/auto/off function must be set to auto in order for the subsequent programming to work.

Judy from Nicrew replied and thanked me enthusiastically for my advice. She wrote that Nicrew would revise their manual accordingly. I replied by inviting Judy to send me a scan of their revised manual once they began shipping it to accompany their timers. Instead, Judy promptly sent me a scan of Nicrew’s draft of a revised manual, one that clumsily incorporated my suggestion but, in this and in several other ways, was as almost as badly written as their original instruction manual. It is possible that Judy had inadvertently misunderstood my invitation but, given how clearly worded it was, I believed it far more likely that she was deliberately soliciting my additional advice. Flattered by her enthusiasm, I undertook what turned out to be a time-consuming and painstaking project: a comprehensive revision of Nicrew’s entire instruction manual. This comprehensive revision incorporated my initial suggestion and added another one: after programming the timer, the programmed settings can be manually overridden, but thereafter the timer has to be reset to auto in order for the programmed settings to resume their effectiveness. I then emailed this revised manual to Judy.

Judy again thanked me, but that was the extent of her expression of gratitude. I replied that, in light of the big favor I had just done for Nicrew, I would appreciate it if Nicrew returned the favor by shipping to me four timers for free, which I would then give away to my friends. The cost to Nicrew of these timers, shipping included, would have been no more than $50.00. When I did not receive a reply from Judy, I reiterated my request, but neither she nor anyone else from Nicrew ever got back to me.

Nicrew and their future customers will benefit a lot from the work I did revising their instruction manual. You would think then that Nicrew would have the good sense to be at least slightly generous to me. Unfortunately, such generosity has been conspicuously absent. To be sure, their 7-day timer is one of the best ones being made, but you may want to take my experience into account when considering which 7-day timer to purchase.
