Absolute rip off!! The NIE they gave me was hardly accepted anywhere! Just caused me much more troubles and way more time to access the social security in Spain. Save your money and better do it the official way!!

They handled my complicated NIE process well, even though my case was especially tricky. (initially I was outside EU. Then I had to repeat my process in Spain) but they handled them very well!

Police holidays are a bad excuses for work delay.at most the are 1 or 2 days its a public service there for always open except for local holidays. they also say the police CANCELD the appointment another plain lie the police never CANCELS the appointment. Its used to explain the work load. Never direct contact by phone possible if you need them fast!!!!

If you are a foreign EU citizen in Ireland trying to get your documents done, you will have a hard time. As I went on holiday to Spain I got my documents notarised there (+56 euro), which saved me such a headache. The process took 2 months because of police holidays but all was arranged swiftly.
