Hello, I'm Nikki J. Owen. The journey to the woman I am today was not an easy and conventional path. In my late teens, I was facing life in prison at the Old Bailey but was sensationally released in a historic landmark case on 22nd December 1978. (See Wikipedia ) I believe that everything we endure gives us the opportunity to experience a better version of ourselves. This is what happened to me. From my teenage trauma that shocked the world, I learned how to heal myself emotionally and live a life full of meaning. Over the past three decades, I’ve worked with thousands of individuals delivering conference keynotes, leadership masterclasses and using my leadership breakthrough techniques to reduce stress and transform how people feel. The inspiration for my ground-breaking methods has been shaped by quantum mechanics, neuroscience and cellular biology. I believe that one of my biggest strengths is the ability to communicate complex subjects simply. For a period of 5 years (2008 – 2012), I delivered corporate masterclasses at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre when I tested and measured the impact of my techniques and processes. This period became the launch pad for my speaking career that earned me several awards and glowing testimonials. I created The Big Apple Experiment that demonstrates the impact that emotions have on the chemistry of the body, something that has been featured regularly in the media since 2010. I was appointed Positivity Advisor to The Expotel Group, then as an Executive Faculty for Henley Business School’s Advanced Management Programme, and also TV coach for Sky Bio Channel (From Kitchen Sink to Catwalk). One of my career highlights happened when I was invited by an international broadcaster to share my views on the first UK live debate between the 3 political leaders. I have a growing reputation for my sensory awareness and strong intuitive insights. In 2020 I committed to building The Healing Hub Community that features the best and most impactful techniques I have successfully used over the years. I am an approved partner with the Association of Health Practitioners. Leaders have an easy way to continue their journey of wellbeing, resilience, and growth. “Nikki’s got a wonderful way of weaving science with emotion. She blew the members of my group away with her techniques. They all scored her 10 out of 10, this is the only time the group has universally scored a speaker 10 out of 10.” Neil Wilkie, Chair Emeritus, Vistage International Guiding principles Today’s well-being interventions need to work at many layers because stress & anxiety negatively impacts upon emotional, physiological and behavioural responses. To improve the way individuals, respond to day-to-day challenges requires them to ‘empty’ their emotional bucket. As children grow, they learn to suppress rather than express how they feel. Over time this leads to emotional build-up. Day-to-day responses are intensified by unprocessed emotions held in the body. For happiness and wellbeing It’s vital that individuals have a growth mindset that supports them through life's challenging times. You cannot access a growth mindset if your cells aren’t operating in growth mode. The 50 trillion cells in the body have two operating functions: survival or growth mode. Cells are the building blocks of the body, and their operating function directly impacts on the immune system, energy levels and mindset direction. The quickest way to create improved happiness, performance and productivity is to reinforce positive behaviours and neutralise negative/self-sabotaging behaviour. Most behaviour is formed during the first 6 years and was learned then replicated unconsciously from parents/caregivers. These behaviours are often negative, not aligned to a leader’s authentic self yet incredibly difficult to change. These behaviours have formed neural circuits in the brain that have become strengthened over time. Ease of behavioural change occurs when neural circuits are re-formed to support rather than to sabotage thinking and consequently behaviour. Making changes not excuses happens when change is easy to implement and driven from the unconscious mind. The transition from conscious and concerted effort occurs when the following factors are incorporated into learning and wellbeing interventions: 66-days to create new automated behaviour with emphasis on regular repetition, quick and easy activities. There must be a compelling reason to do the regular activity that harnesses two main motivational drivers. An individual’s receptiveness/readiness to complete the activity/change varies daily based on their mood. The ability to personalise content based on how each person ‘feels’ that day is vital for ongoing motivation. These guiding principles have been integrated into the solutions that I offer to my corporate and personal clients. In March 2020 I developed The Healing Hub App containing tools and techniques evolved over three decades that reduce stress, improve sleep quality and build inner confidence and energy levels.
