Nixplay renewed my subscription and…
Nixplay renewed my subscription and attempted to charge my account without my permission. My account clearly states it does not automatically renew.

My frame works really well
My frame works really well. I love the quality, and the pictures look clear and sharp. Uploading pictures is very easy with my app. It is user-friendly. I would definitely recommend this frame to my friends, and I’m excited to get a new one for my sister, so we can share photos anytime and view them on our coffee table, even when we are in different states.
Great.
I bought this product off Amazon to display my photos, it was quick and easy to set up and the app was simple to use. It sits comfortably on my desk and it looks great.
Great frame for sharing photo's with family
The whole family has one and it's a great way of sharing photo's. It's easy to set up, easy to use. My mum always complains that she doesn't get photo's of the grandchildren but now it is so easy to share them with her.
Great gift for mum and family
I bought the 10 inch frame for my mum recently and she’s fallen in love with it. It’s so easy to send her new photos and they show up on her frame almost instantly. Other family members love it too, so I'm am now considering this for them when Christmas comes around
Digital photo frame
Brilliant frame, modern looking. Excellent service.
Thank you.
Picture Frame…
Love the product and the fact I can have my pictures on display
Excellent Customer Service
I've just bought a photo frame from this company and as we are computer illeterate, we needed help to set up the frame. The customer service were amazing, very helpful and got us up and running in no time.
AVOID ….
Simple decision. DO NOT BUY THEIR FRAMES
We purchased their EXPENSIVE frame because of their unlimited photo storage that they have now reduced to a ridiculously small 0.5GB making the frame worthless.
Any company that behaves like this should not be in business.
AVOID AT ALL COST

Sell you a frame then soon after force you into paying a subscription.
Bought the digital frame (pricey at £300, but excellent quality). A few months later they introduce a £30/yr fee to use it! (which presumably they'll further ramp up over time).
Given it has no ports for memory cards you are stuck with a useless £300 frame.
They also charge UK customers ~75% more than US customers for the ongoing subscription!
Callous mis-selling. No integrity that I can see. I would not trust them
Classic bait and switch
Classic bait and switch. Promised unlimited storage as a selling point and then years later start demanding a subscription. My three frames are now unusable bricks
The Nixplay photo frame is rubbish. I bought it on the recommendation of a colleague, and after using it, I discovered all its limitations. From a hardware standpoint, the frame is decent (good display quality...), but from a software standpoint, it's a disaster. A few examples: it's impossible to upload a video from your computer to your frame, and it's impossible to display your most recently uploaded photos in your playlist (the option displays the most recently uploaded photos from any playlist!!).
In short, the development team lacks common sense. It's as if the photo frame they use at home isn't a Nixplay!
Avoid
Bait and switch, will promise one thing then blackmail money out of you for it.

Nixplay photo frames
Nixplay have reduced a great product with flexibility for sharing photos onto a frame to something that I wished I had never purchased. Worse than that I have previously recommended their frames to friends. Their move to introduce a subscription service and a clunky minimal free basic photo storage was never on the radar when purchasing and as a result would strongly recommend looking at other frame manufacturers with built in storage before purchasing a Nixplay product.
Change in Terms and Conditions
After using my Nixplay picture frame for some time without any problems, I have had an email from them saying that they have locked approximately half of my photos. To unlock them, I must pay them $19.99. If I had known this beforehand I would not have bought from Nixplay
Bad company
Bad company. Read the reviews and avoid at all costs if you don't want to be scalped
Bait and switch
Used to be great, now they shrunk from unlimited photo storage to just 0.5 GB. I bought three frames for over $170 each with the understanding that there was unlimited cloud storage for photos and 5 GB for videos. DO NOT BUY.
Now they want money for subscription…
Now they want money for subscription which was free before. Scam... Good bye
WARNING: AVOID NIXPLAY PRODUCTS. Additional fees added long after the sale.
Before you purchase any Nixplay photo frame, there are two things you should be aware of:
1) You must now PAY recurring subscription fees OVER and OVER again to unlock and use most of the features of a Nixplay frame, including for any cloud storage over the barest minimum. Nixplay frames are locked into the Nixplay platform. If you stop paying for a subscription, Nixplay frames become essentially useless for their intended purpose.
2) Nixplay can longer be trusted. For years, Nixplay grew their business on a promise to everyone purchasing Nixplay frames we would have free unlimited cloud storage for our photos. All of that has been snatched away. Like a back-alley thug, Nixplay has essentially kneecapped our photo frames unless we pay their ongoing ransom to use them in the same way as when we bought them. This is just another corporate scheme to remonetize products that were bought and paid for already.
Nixplay claims this is about rising storage costs, but at the same time moves the ability to use third party storage solutions behind their paywall. If they wanted us to use less storage on Nixplay servers, they could just allow us to store our photos elsewhere without paying Nixplay to do that.
The truth is Nixplay wants to transition from a hardware company to one using “services and subscriptions” to generate recurring revenue streams. CEO Mark Palfreeman bragged about this new focus while courting potential investors during their crowdfunding campaign to raise additional capital. In a presentation graphic, they claim to make about $51 from the sale of each frame, and expect to collect, over time, about another $160 per subscription.
Reducing the free cloud storage to a ridiculously low 500MB and moving ALL third party storage solutions behind their paywall appears to be the Nixplay way of forcing everyone “in” or “out” of their new ecosystem were practically everyone will have to pay Nixplay year after year to keep their frames working above the most basic level.
Nixplay could have made different choices, like not making such huge promises up front to sell us their frames or later, by honoring the promises made to those who had already purchased their frames. Instead, Nixplay is hiding behind lawyers and legal fine print to renege on their promises long after the sale.
To those who say you can’t expect something free “forever”, I never did. All electronics have finite life spans. I only expected Nixplay to honor their promises while my frames still worked. Instead, they are effectively making my frames smaller and stupid because I won't pay the new fees I never agreed to.
Even if you are okay with paying for a never-ending subscription, you should be wary of this company. The same legal fine print that Nixplay is using to justify taking away the free cloud storage they promised will also allow them to raise their subscription rates at any time to any amount for no reason. There is nothing you will be able to do about that, except pay even higher fees or cancel your subscription and essentially “brick” any Nixplay frames you bought.
Like so many others, had I been told when originally buying my photo frames the functions and storage Nixplay said would be free would actually require an additional paid subscription that never ended, I would NEVER have bought Nixplay frames.
Nixplay grew its business on the recommendations we made to family and friends to buy Nixplay. I don't think they fully appreciate what new force will be pulling even harder against them. I have been telling all my family and friends why Nixplay now sucks so bad and can never be trusted again.
I will never buy another Nixplay product.
Untrustworthy Company
One of the main selling points for their digital frame was the UNLIMITED photo storage. They have now reduced that to a mere 500MB forcing people who want to continue to use their frames to subscribe to an annual subscription fee. I tried to contact them to clarify the change and highlighted they were not honouring the initial purchase contract, I got no reply! Don’t trust this company!
