Very disappointing customer service.

Very disappointing customer service.

We received the car with the fuel tank only half full. At pick-up, the employee clearly informed us that we only needed to return the vehicle with the same fuel level and even told us that the car tank was almost full which in fact wasn't true. We did exactly that and even have a photo from the time of collection as proof.

Despite this, we were charged an additional €71.72 for refuelling. I contacted customer service multiple times, explained the situation, and attached the photo as evidence. Unfortunately, my emails have been completely ignored as well as emails from my friend.

Charging customers incorrectly is one thing, but refusing to respond to legitimate complaints is unacceptable. I expected much better customer service and would not recommend this company based on my experience.

Avoid!

Avoid. Simply avoid. There's a reason this car rental company is as cheap as it is. Either deliberately or through negligence, they don't bother recording the damage previous users have made to the cars. Then, once you return it, they'll bill you for any damage unless you can prove it wasn't you through a photo. This includes tiny little chips on the doors (like when you open a door and it hits an obstacle) which you wouldn't think twice about and I strongly doubt they'll ever fix. They'll tell you: pay now or we'll hold on to your deposit for four weeks and it'll be really difficult to make a claim. This, I suspect is part of their business model. They rely on taking money this way as a key revenue stream.

My advice is to simply avoid the hassle and constant worry about how much you'll ultimately have to pay and opt for one of the international companies (Avis, etc). It's a false economy. If the difference in price is very big and you really want to make this saving, make sure you forensically scan every inch of the vehicle under a bright light. They will look for every excuse to take more money from you.

Makes money from fake damage claims

A charge without providing any evidence of damage. Then no customer service meaning you cannot contest. They did the same thing to our friends who also rented a car at the same time.
Avoid if you can.

Noleggiare Car Rental

Noleggiare Car Rental – Venice Airport

I had a very disappointing experience with Noleggiare at Venice Airport. I booked a Mitsubishi ASX, a medium‑size SUV, months in advance for a two‑week road trip through the Dolomites. Instead, on arrival, I was handed a Fiat Panda Grande, which is absolutely not a comparable vehicle.

For context:

• Mitsubishi ASX: approx. 4.36m long, 1.81m wide, ~406L boot space
• Fiat Panda Grande: approx. 3.99m long, 1.76m wide, ~225L boot space

The ASX is a proper compact SUV with far more cabin space and luggage capacity. The Panda Grande is a small city commuter. Calling these “similar” is misleading at best.

As a 6ft 2 male, the downgrade made the entire trip uncomfortable. We had to cram all our luggage into a car that was far too small, which meant reduced legroom and a cramped driving position for two weeks.

To make matters worse, our booking included a child seat, yet on arrival we were told they only had a booster seat available. A booster seat for a 2‑year‑old is not only inappropriate but dangerous. This is a serious safety issue and completely unacceptable.

Noleggiare had months to provide the correct vehicle or a genuinely similar alternative, but failed to do so. I paid for a more spacious, premium vehicle and did not receive it. The downgrade and the unsafe child‑seat situation ruined what should have been a comfortable trip.

I cannot recommend Noleggiare and would strongly advise others to avoid them, especially if you expect to receive the vehicle you actually booked or require proper child safety equipment.

SCAM ALERT: Fake Upgrades, Hidden Fees, and Intimidation at Roma Termini

Do NOT rent from this company! I had the absolute worst experience at their Roma Termini location. They use aggressive scam tactics to trap tourists.
1. The "Cancelled Booking" Lie:
I pre-paid for my rental and insurance via Booking.com. At the counter, the staff lied, claiming my third-party insurance was invalid. They promised to cancel my entire Booking.com order so I could sign a new contract with them. I later found out they only cancelled the insurance but kept the original rental fee, resulting in me being double-charged.
2. The Fake "UP SELL" Fraud:
Without my clear consent, the counter staff sneaked a massive €220 "UP SELL" fee into my final contract (over €260 including tax). The most ridiculous part? My printed contract clearly shows the vehicle group was "J1". When they gave me the car, it was still a "J1" category car! They charged me an expensive upgrade fee but provided the exact same basic car category.
3. Lies in the Parking Lot:
The first car they gave us couldn't even fit our luggage (even though Booking.com stated it could fit 2 large suitcases). We had to swap cars 4 times in the parking lot to find one that fit. During this process, I repeatedly asked the staff if there would be any extra charge. They kept saying "NO," deliberately hiding the fact that they had already secretly charged the massive UP SELL fee at the counter!
4. Aggressive Intimidation:
When I realized things were wrong and tried to use my phone to record the condition of the cars and the situation for my own protection, the staff became extremely aggressive. They yelled at me to stop recording and even threatened to call the police to intimidate me into complying and leaving.
This is not a business; this is an organized tourist trap. I have already filed a chargeback dispute with my credit card bank for the unauthorized fraudulent charges and reported their practices to the Italian Consumer Authority (AGCM). Avoid Noleggiare at all costs!

Booked car ( booked as suitable for 4 adults plus 3 luggages) was way too small. Obliviously a common problem caused by the company’s booking system. Upgrading to a bigger car should cost plus 700€, not just the difference between the smaller and the bigger car. The entire procedure took honestly 2,5h. Great way to start holiday, thank you very much Noleggiare at Venice airport.

Good experience

Collected from Verona airport which was fast and efficient. Car was what I’d booked, a bit of damage but it was documented. They didn’t have an isofix baby seat (one start reduction) and I had to go back to collect another seat the following day (still not isofix but a lot better than the original). Dropped off in Rome - I was late but there were no issues leaving the car in the box. Got the check in report this morning and no surprises. I paid the insurance deposit on debit card as I don’t have a credit card and no issues. All round a positive experience.

I am very disappointed with my experience with Noleggiare in Nuoro.

After returning the car, I was charged €330 for a tiny paint chip, no bigger than a small insect. In my opinion, the charge is completely disproportionate to the damage.

The biggest problem is that after charging my deposit, the company has repeatedly failed to provide me with an invoice for this charge. I need this document to submit a claim to my insurance company, but despite several requests, I still have not received it.

I have no objection to paying for genuine damage, but I expect transparency, proper documentation, and professional customer service. Without an invoice, I cannot recover my costs from my insurer.

Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this rental company.

Excellent service and special thanks to Maria

We had a really great experience with this company. A special thanks to Maria, who was absolutely wonderful — very kind, professional, and helpful.

She helped us book a car even though it was already Saturday evening and there were very few cars left available. We also did not have a credit card, only a debit card, but Maria still managed to find a solution and make the booking possible for us.

We chose the full insurance package, and the car was provided to us for two days. Thanks to this, we had an amazing trip around Venice, and everything went perfectly.

We are very grateful to the company for offering this kind of service, and especially to Maria for her support and care. We will definitely recommend this company to our friends, and if possible, we would especially recommend asking for Maria.

In EU Italy, which is beautiful peace of mind. You can also find this rocky experience. Everything is sade in earlier comments so need to repeat. You cannot be careful enough to be f...k up by them. It is funny that there are comments giving 5 Stars. I have rented cars different continents during 40 decates, but nothing beats them. If you want to have interesting experience rent a car from them.

CAR RENTAL TRAPANI BIRGI (SICILY) TREATED BADLY BY VALENTINA

They will scam you
The staff are rude

Scratches on car even if they are registered previous ones they will make you pay for them.
Evidence you do have of the previous damages don't go in your favour they will CHARGE ridiculous amount even for a tiny chip mark.

Their foolish trick they use is they approach you in the car park so you leave them the key and they will say give me your key as I'm busy checking other cars at the moment and you are free to go. So then you leave and receive a call saying we have fount new scratches plus the ones that were already there they have magically got worse. So I paid €300

I had left something valuable in the car fault or my own but when I realised and you want to go back to collect it they say NO and made out they didn't find anything.

I want to warn customers of Noleggiare

I want to warn customers of Noleggiare: in Sassari, Sardinia, I experienced extremely unfair and unprofessional service at the Noleggiare office.

I booked and paid for a rental car in advance. When I arrived to pick up the car, they found my booking and the car was ready, but at the last moment they refused to give it to me because my driving license was “not European.”

They did not refund my money and simply told me to deal with the broker.

As a result, I was left without both the car and the money. At the same time, at the airport, the same brand and other rental companies accepted my driving license without any problems and provided me with a car.

Be careful with the Noleggiare clarify all conditions in advance, especially if you book through a broker.

Used this company in Florence and we got a nice Mercedes clean and worked well for us on the trip. On returning the car they started looking under the vehicle for marks, actually under the vehicle said there
were marks and took photos of under the vehicle. This is not something we checked before hiring the vehicle and wouldn’t have dreamed of looking under the car before hiring it. We really do feel this Company is just out to make extra money wherever they can. Avoid them!

Scam experts!

They gave us the car at the Catania airport in a friendly manner, confirming that there were scratches already signed in their system, and that those kind of scratches were not to count as damage.
They SCAMMED us in this way!
When we return the car they asked for 300€ reparations for the same scratches, telling us that those were not present in the beginnings and it was impossible that the other employee had told us not to worry about them!!

The worst ever rental car experience

The worst ever rental car experience. Hired a car a Brindisi airport, checked in online a couple of days before and then when we got to the rental station at the airport we had to wait for 2 hours only to be told once we got to the front of the queue that we were a "no-show" and our booking had been cancelled because we hadn't arrived in time! The people on the desk were so rude, offered no help at all other than to say we can book you another car at double the cost. 50+ people were stood outside in the boiling heat, with every booking taking a very long time (20 mins) because everyone was being forced to take additional insurance. An awful company that if I could I would give 0 stars to

This place sucks

First, we arrived at the airport and they told us that they didn’t have the car that we rented but they had another one that was “just fine“. That car was not big enough so I had to go back to the desk after walking a long way to the parking lot. We were in a rush. Then we found out they actually did have the car, they just haven’t cleaned it yet. So they gave us that car. Then when I turned it in, they started charging me for tiny scratches. It turns out they were basing that on the previous car. The ladies in the office were extremely rude.

We wish we had read reviews here before booking. Like many others, rental was cancelled of company due to slightly late arrival, even though we had confirmation that we had notified the company. However, the sales person was aggressive, requested that we adressed all requests with a please, suggested she would not rent us another car. She was threatening and condescending. Especially if you are travelling with children, senior citizens, belong to any minority group you are at risk of feeling unsafe.
