Review summary

Based on reviews, created with AI

Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers expressed significant dissatisfaction with the products received, frequently noting that items did not match the online descriptions or images. They often found the quality to be very poor, comparing it to cheap alternatives and feeling that the price paid was not justified. Consumers also reported considerable issues with their orders, including long delivery times and receiving incorrect items or sizes. The return policy was a major point of contention, with many finding the process difficult and expensive, often requiring them to ship items back to China at a cost that sometimes exceeded the product's value.

A scam of a Chinese company

A scam of a Chinese company. Horrible quality dress. Embarrassed I bought it. :(
I sent 8 emails to them and finally their AI BOT got back to me…”we are sorry your shoes don’t fit”. Huh?! What?!
The emails never acknowledged it was a dress referring to shoes, boots or pants. :))
I tried to return it and they told me I have to pay for it myself to China. It was going cost $85 to return it DHL.
This is the return address:
Return address:
Consignee: Isabella
Company: Yiwu Cujia Trade Co., Ltd
Address: 2nd Floor, Building 9, No. 887 Changchun West Rd.
District: Jindong District
City: Jinhua
Province: Zhejiang
Country: China
Postal Code: 321000
Contact: +86 17757903756

The dress was shipped from Mississauga from the Canadian distributor to disguise it is a Chinese scam. PayPal, Visa, MC should be notified of these scams, and these people should not be allowed to get payment processing backing from the banks in Canada.

There was no reason to return it as I paid $85 for it.
I have submitted a claim to Visa for the sheer principle of it.

False item description

I purchased the Hope shearling jacket. Which states it's made of ethically sourced leather sheepskin. It's not. It's made of fleece. To return my cost is €57.00. not worth the trouble to return. I wish I would have read reviews before ordering. ZERO stars.

Fake website to sell cheap quality…

Fake website to sell cheap quality products from China (Same phone number for the Lucas $ Grace New York and North & Muse Vancouver). Same fake stories, same fake photos... Never-ending wait to receive the bag I ordered... I ordered a leather bag and ended up with an awful quality fake leather bag. I wrote to them for 3 months to return that, be reimbursed, said they will replace it with something else, but I have to pay fees... Nothing will arrive; they're just playing with customers. Horrible experience and waste of money and time! Don,t buy from them!

Poor quality/pictures of clothes are not accurate

I had a similar experience with this company. They are not based out of Vancouver as advertised. It took over 3 weeks for the sweater I ordered to arrive and the sweater I received looked nothing like the pictures on their website. The quality was poor similar to something you would expect from SHEIN or Temu. It was a knit cardigan that left fuzz all over the tights and shirt worn with it. When I requested a refunded they said I would have to pay for shipping which was back to China!!!! Not worth sending this back for over $60 in shipping costs to a company that uses misleading pictures and dishonest claims that they will honour a full refund.

Buyer beware do not order anything from North and Muse

Lead to believe they are in Vancouver. Received a flimsy jacket, wanted to return, expected a Vancouver address, as I am expected to pay return freight, instead I was given this:
Return address:

City: Ningbo
Postal Code: 315100

Price to return: in British Pounds 53.00
VERY misleading, Very Disappointed. Identical MO as Sinclair-Toronto. Again, very misleading, and disappointed.

⭐️ 1 Star - Total Scam, Avoid!!

Do not waste your money on North and Muse “orthopedic” slip-ons. The pictures online look nothing like the product I received. There’s no arch support, no flexibility, and no company name anywhere on the shoes — just cheap plastic that clearly came from Temu.

They claim to be a Vancouver-based company, but my order took weeks to arrive and shipped directly from China. Total false advertising.

To make things worse, the return process is a joke — they try to charge you so much for “shipping” that it’s not even worth sending them back. Huge scam. Save your money and buy from a real, reputable brand.

This is a total scam

This is a total scam. I ordered and received an item that in no way other than colour was like what they showed. Lost $99.95. They claim to be a business in Vancouver going out of business to retire. When I took the picture of the “owners” from the website and searched for it - turns out it is a stock photo and showed up in more than 12 other ads for different companies and sites. The better business bureau repots there is no such business in Vancouver. Reports across the board confirm it is a total scam. The cost of trying to get money back by shipping the product back is insane! Another part of the scam to get more of your money.

North and muse read the bad reviews…

Saw the ad on instagram for North and muse…Ordered the shoes, looked amazing in pictures description was orthopaedic shoes, received them, no arch support “material was like a shirt material” vs something for shoes…then it started…I asked to return the shoes per their 30 day return policy…they offered to exchange or I could return them…so I said return…they sent me the forms to return them at my expense through dhl…to china…approx 300$…so I inquired about the exchange (and I keep the original pair) they said there would be a small fee…so I chose another pair the fee was 14.98…not a big issue…then…my friend said those shoes are on temu…yes they were for 11.98…as are the ones I originally paid 59.95 for…but they were 14.98 on temu…buyer beware…this company and I suspect the many other companies that are now “having a going out of business sale” are just scams…I am so disappointed but I would not give these crooks another penny…I always read reviews but did not in this case…won’t happen again and I hope others read this and don’t get fooled and disappointed…

Buyer Beware - North & Muse Engaging in Illegal Business Practices

Please be advised that I am filing a complaint against North & Muse with the Alberta's Consumer Investigations Unit.

I submit that North & Muse is engaging in unfair business practices under Alberta's Consumer Protection Act, RSA 2000, c C-26.3. The act states "consumers have the right to be safe from unfair business practices, the right to be properly informed about products and transactions, and the right to reasonable access to redress when they have been harmed." Specifically, the act 6(2)(c) states, "It is an unfair practice for a supplier, in a consumer transaction or a proposed consumer transaction, to use exaggeration, innuendo or ambiguity as to a material fact with respect to the consumer transaction."

With regard to this case, North & Muse has:
Not properly informed about their product and used exaggeration, innuendo or ambiguity as to a material fact with respect to the consumer transaction. Specifically, North & Muse represented their Carmela - Urban Tote product as "leather" on their website. Subsequently, after the product arrived and a complaint was lodged that the product was not leather, North & Muse stated in an email that their product "is eco-friendly leather, which is different from traditional leather." Describing the Carmela - Urban Tote as leather on their website, displaying images of the tote that hide that the product is not genuine leather, and subsequently informing the consumer after the purchase that the product "is eco-friendly leather, which is different from traditional leather" is clearly an unfair practice of this supplier.
Not given reasonable access to redress the harm by devising a return system that costs more than the product is also clearly an unfair practice. Specifically, North & Muse's return process involves returning the product to this address in China: Lane 1177, Jianlan Road, diagonally opposite the South Gate of Lubao Technology, Yinzhou District, Ningbo, 315100, Zhejiang, China. Using the only shipping method North & Muse accepts for returns, the cost of returning a product that costs $69.95 CAD is $265 CAD.

Not only are North & Muse business practices unfair for me as a consumer, their practices undermine the key principles of Alberta's Consumer Protection Act, as quoted below:

Businesses thrive when a balanced marketplace is promoted and when consumers have confidence that they will be treated fairly and ethically by members of an industry;

Businesses that comply with legal rules should not be disadvantaged by competing against those that do not; and

The Government of Alberta is committed to protecting consumers and businesses from unfair practices to support a prosperous and vibrant economy;

Not at all like the « sponsored » image!!

I was so excited about receiving the coat I ordered… and so disappointed with what I received. Not the same color, not the same style at all and on top of it, it was unironable… I will never order there anymore… and to get a refund, I have to mail the item back to China!!! I thought they were a Canadian company based in Vancouver…

NORTH & Muse

NORTH & Muse

Lies and scam. Quality of items (as poor as it gets) false advertising. Lies about retail location, couple retiring, quality is about as good as a sale item for 5 dollars at Walmart. Absolutely all Lies. Put it this way the plastic bag the items are sent in is of more value (ziplock) then the items. Returns are impossible as they are shipped to China.

This order is absolutely not as expected. The coat is worth 20$ let alone 100 on sale for 50. I can get this quality jacket at Walmart. Highly deceiving description. I thought it would have more structure. It is limp and more like a poorly made fleece sweater.

The purse is a but better but a completely useless strap.

My order was 107. $ and I am extremely disapproving of the entirety of it. This was fast advertising and the not worth the sale price even. I want to return both items

The bags both items came in are of more value for me.
Despicable way to earn a living.

Just opened my order. NOTHING like it was advertised to be. I ordered a “wool” coat and “leather” bag. The items are complete garbage. The return process complicated and you have to pay for the shipping. Just terrible. Don’t waste your money.

I see a beautiful purse on Pinterest…

I see a beautiful purse on Pinterest and being my gullible self I order it. Needless to say I’ve been scammed as there is no such place as North and Muse Vancouver and the lovely couple who have been in business for many years are not retiring. There is no nice couple and there is no beautiful purse. The whole ad is a blatant lie. They’re crooks and they’re from China. Don’t be stupid like me and fall for this unadulterated garbage they’re spewing.

ordered size 6 was sent size 7

Well first of all the company can improve by stop misleading their orders as when people order a certain size of shoe they receive the size they order not a size larger and then when asked to if I could return my product I have to pay for my return so after spending 500 bucks I'm told I have to spend more money to return shoes that I didn't order this doesn't make any sense to me usually when a company does practice they have shipping and receiving cost included in their pricing now you're going to make people double pay for something that's not right on the behalf of the company so that's a lie that's misleading and to be honest that's fraud that you're posting yourself like this so you purposeful send out wrong sizing and then you tell people that they have to continue to pay so they can get some money back so what are you gaining you're gaining a bad reputation and your shoes aren't being worn by anybody they're just going to be put aside and then eventually be donated and you think that you make a name for yourself that way. Very poor business practice and this is under the direction that the company was closing so it was a closing sale that's also probably a lie because they're probably just saying that for sales.

This place is a scam

This place is a scam. If I could give less than 1 star I would have. They sent me the wrong dress and then made it next to impossible to return it for a refund. I was told to pay the return costs (almost as much as the dress cost) in Euros and mail the dress back to China! They claim to be a soon-to-retire business located in British Columbia, Canada but their storefront doesn't exist. It's all B.S.
