This council is a disgrace!

This council is absolutely the worst if the worst institution! We should all, absolutely all residents STOP paying the absurd council tax! What a disgrace! Shame to all their councilors and rest of employees! You should all be fired imediately!

This review is about the part of the…

This review is about the part of the service that they call safeguarding, well what an absolute waste of money it is because they don't safeguard the people who they should. They say to do this that or the other if you have to but then there is nothing as in safeguarding, so why have a service that is not going to provide for people who need it. No wonder so many people are failed in this country it's because of service's lie like this one and also other one's. If they are not providing anything of use to the people who have to contact them then why are they there? One star is one too many.

I reapplied for my blue badge on the 24th of November told they were 8 weeks behind. Its 12 weeks today still no badge. Rang the office told they send a letter out, they were supposed to email me. Told must have made a mistake. Asked if I could pay in the phone, told by Dawn I'm not allowed to take money. Then it will take up to 2 weeks for the badge. They would send a link. Unfortunately something went wrong ( my fault) rang again I think the girl was Kate advised what had happened. She took the payment no problem? So hopefully I'll get it eventually. When applied the girl at the office check that everything was fine. So why she couldn't take the money is beyond me.

Speedy update

Impressed with the speed and efficiency of Council tax department when it comes to closing my account. I only sold the property yesterday and they have the system correctly updated already in all details. My call was answered in short time by a friendly lady. If only my Council in London was quite as efficient. Thanks

Northumberland county council Trading Standards aren't there for you.(County Hall )

In my experience Trading Standards are pretty much giving scammers a free pass to get away with everything. No attempt was made to enforce any law against our rogue trader. System is completely against you its as if its set up for you to fail. This is me being very polite about the whole costly stressful buisness. To me trading means tradesman and Standards mean the standard of work. People can continue to change companies to avoid court without any consequences for bad workmanshipand taking thousands from you. Thats what the Trading Standards department allow. Yet again the little people are insignificant, Disgusted by the whole process.

This council a few years ago re-housed known pedophiles from I think it was rothbury and placed them into barnes road Felton 4 houses away from the nursery/school, he was going around Felton looking in kids bedroom windows and when caught nothing was done despite numerous complaints to ncc. He finally went to jail as he was caught flashing to kids his wife was I think also jailed. Ncc done nothing it was police intervention and people in Felton that helped put him away. Who puts known pedophiles next to a school. Ncc does

Trying to apply online for a bus pass

Trying to apply online for a bus pass, Northumberland county council application form would not accept any password whether my own or computer generated. So tried to phone them to report the problem and was given 4 options all of which repeated themselves then cut me off saying I have a problem. NO I don't have a problem NCC but you obviously have major problems, total shambles.

I am blind and the council refused to repair a hazard

I am register blind and walk with a white came.

11 years ago I was taught by the councils sight impairment team to walk in the Centre of the payment to avoid car doors and people stepping out of doorways.

In my village there is a hazard in the centre of the pavement where I walk but the council will not repair it because it does not fit their criteria.

Several weeks ago my White cane dug into the hazard smashed into my ribs and knock me to the ground.

Initially this was reported to the water board who are very very good but said it was up to the council to repair this and they passed it onto the council.

The punchline is sight impaired people are taught to walk in the centre of a payment yet the council refuse
To repair the hazard in the centre of the pavement because it does not fit their criteria.

Whatever happened to doing the right thing, no wonder this country is so bad.

In other countries in Europe they look after there citizens "but not in this country"

my favourite saying when I worked as a paramedic was "what are you going to do sack me for doing the right thing for a patient, I don't think so"

Parking Police

Seems even though they dont have a working parking station in the lot they'll still ticket you and refuse your inquiry. Be very careful to park at any of the council/city run locations. If I were to return I would only park in private lots. Additionally this has turned us off from moving to this region. Sad.

ZERO SAFEGUARDING POLICY !!!!

ZERO SAFEGUARDING POLICY !!!!!
I wish I could give - 100
They have moved known drug dealers and takers into a community of 80 and 90 year old widowed ladies, all in ill health, living their twilight years in Blyth Northumberland.
Who ever made this decision should be held accountable and sacked. He or she spared zero though for these terrified pensioners.
Reported for almost 2 years and they only sprung into action when the local Reform candidate got involved.
Utter disgrace 😡

Tried to order some bins

Tried to order some bins, just moved address, was informed I would be called back once the stock had been checked, either on the day or the following day. As predicted, no call received. You don’t need extra government funding to complete a promise by one of your employees. Kafkaesque from the cowboy country

Sadly the monetary cuts are starting to show! We’re told by our councillor to put reports in using FixMyStreet, we do that and get the same response as using the old direct report system ie nothing! A road sign was reported as being on the floor a year ago and is still the same today, a rotted sign fell over and is still the same months later, funny thing is they replaced a sign 50mts away and would’ve been cost effective to do this one at the same time but no. You have to laugh it’s pitiful.

Ignored housing complaint

There's a problem with the electrics in our property that has been going on since June. Was meant to have a reply from stage 2 complaint by 25th of Sept it's now 11th of October and no one has even looked it. We received the tenant report today that says you are deal with complaints effectively, this is simply not true. I have rang and emailed and it's impossible to get a response from any form of management.

Anonymous and untimely

Waited over 12months for this lot to respond to a tree complaint. Eventually closed today with a glib response and a deflection of any ownership.
Local area standards have never been so poor, the decline will no doubt continue
