The 3 stars that I gave are exclusively…

The 3 stars that I gave are exclusively for my son's teacher. Mr Vaid is amazing, but the site is a crap. My son has more than 1 year with them, and I kept the subscription just because he got very attached to Mr Vaid, but lately I am extremely pissed off. I always had issues with them, but at least I was fixing them with the employees. Now they have a bot answering to the messages and fixing nothing. Last week, my son had 2 lessons that disappeared from the app. They were booked the same day one after another, when we logged in to make them, they were vanished. Ofcourse, nobody answered us to fix the problem, not even after 1 week, the lessons were not returned and the Bot was unable to help. What a disappointment

Unfair treatment of workers

This company treats workers very poorly. This includes myself and someone else I know who currently works here. They treat workers very negatively when they get any sort of negative feedback. Once this feedback is given, even if the feedback is extremely biased and unfair (the worker might have 99% of exceptional reviews, for example), the company is extremely rude and leaves workers with little job security, even firing them, based on one bad review - a frequent occurance. I feel that a dedicated amd talented learner being fired with immediate effect and left to sudden job instability and financial insecurity is unfair and wrong. This is not a one time thing, as I have heard from several UK teachers that this also happened to them and some more are also experiencing the same issue at present. It is heartbreaking and scary, you do not even get to say goodbye to your pupils - some you may have taught for a long time. It is really unfair. Please can this company sort out their unfair treatment of workers and be more courteous in cases of negative reviews against teachers - consider the whole case (perentage of positive feedback and overall quality of teaching) and significant number of positive reviews alongside tutors. Do not jump straight to firing someone and remove us without a justifiable reason. It is unfair treatment. I know you are employing workers for less pay to replace us, and I feel this is quite calculate and cruel. Please stop. It discredits your brand and will leave customers with a poorer quality of teaching.

many questions, few answers

Good afternoon. My son started learning English at your school. According to the results of the trial lesson, he showed a level 4 knowledge of the language. This fact was not taken into account when choosing group classes. As a result, the group lesson was held in the company of children at a much lower level. My son didn't like it, it was boring, although he is very happy with the teacher. How do I choose a group based on my level of language proficiency? before paying for the lessons, it was not known about the duration of the lesson. I was sure that the lesson would last at least 45 minutes, or even 60. but no! 30 minutes! That's an awful lot for that kind of money and the age of 12. There are no reminders about classes. We got the time wrong by half an hour today. I had to skip class. It's very disappointing. I hope tomorrow the individual lesson will correspond to the level and age of my son. It was also a shame not to receive a response to a request for the opportunity to study with a teacher who taught a trial lesson. We have not received a response. So far, I'm just getting disappointed. There are English language schools that are better focused on their clients.

We’re sorry the group class didn’t meet your expectations. Groups are formed based on both the child’s level and age, but we understand that sometimes the match may not feel ideal. You can try switching to a different group with another teacher. Sometimes a different dynamic works better.

Our classes are 25 minutes long because this format keeps kids engaged and focused. However, at your current level, you can book double 50-minute lessons. If you're interested, we’ll gladly help set it up!

About reminders — they’re sent via push notifications in the Novakid mobile App. Make sure the App is installed and notifications are enabled ✔️

As for the teacher from the trial lesson, unfortunately, that teacher is no longer working with us, which is why she’s unavailable for booking.

Unprofessional, Disorganized, and Disrespectful — Stay Away from Novakid!

My experience with Novakid was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. I would not recommend wasting your time applying here.

First, they constantly pressured me to finish onboarding quickly, even though they were already in the middle of a hiring freeze — something they failed to be upfront about. They acted as if everything was urgent when, in reality, there was no real need to rush.

They require teachers to open 15 hours per week during very specific time slots but give no guarantee you’ll actually get any bookings. You're expected to block off large portions of your time — making it unavailable for other jobs — while they make no commitment to provide you with work.

After agreeing that I could delay my start date due to relocation, they deactivated my account without notice. They left me completely hanging, with no communication, no clear answers, and no professionalism. I had to reach out multiple times just to figure out if they even still intended to hire me — and they still never gave a straight answer.

This company does not respect teachers’ time, energy, or commitments. Their lack of honesty, poor organization, and complete disregard for applicants is beyond unacceptable.

If you value clear communication, professionalism, or basic respect, stay far away from Novakid.

They don't respect their teachers

I worked for Novakid full-time until they unfairly dismissed me with a few hours notice due to unjustified negative parent feedback. I couldn't even say goodbye to the students I had taught for months. I worked for them 7 days a week with no evenings off, until late at night as these were their 'peak hours.' According to their teacher-level system, I was 'expert' which meant my performance was in the top 5% of teachers and I had a fully booked schedule with 90 classes a week. But that didn't matter because I got a 'thumbs down' from some parents who thought they knew more about ESL than someone with 8 years of experience, who has worked in International schools and has taught students from 20 different countries. When I appealed this decision, they sent me a copied and pasted response about how I could improve future lessons with them, which was not even applicable to me as I'd lost my job. When I had previously expressed concerns about job security I was told teachers aren't dismissed without good reason but this isn't the case. I rewatched the last lesson which I received negative feedback for and appealed it, giving examples. I was told the material was too difficult for the student but I had followed all of the Novakid level adjustment guides and criteria and gave examples of this but this was ignored and my account was immediately deactivated. If you want job security, don't work for this company and don't support a company that treats its hard-working teachers like they are disposable.

There was no accurate assessment done…

There was no accurate assessment done for my kid and also the topics of the classes was very similar and no clear plan send to us

Also the pre class training was difficult and not funny for my kid he didn’t like it and didn’t understand it

My son enjoyed the class because of the teacher ..he took notes into consideration like talking to him as a big boy not as a baby. This was Adam's third experience with novakid and the last teacher was the only teacher Adam accepted so thank you.

I felt the teacher didn’t take my son’s focus perfectly, as in the Evaluation lesson although he was recently awake but in any case he is only five need more
