The Best Support I Could Have Asked For
I cannot thank Kavindya Ratnadasa enough for everything she has done throughout my purchase.
Unfortunately, my transaction became incredibly complicated due to repeated delays elsewhere in the chain, changing completion dates and issues that were completely outside of our control. Throughout all of this, Kavindya was a constant source of support. She was always honest, approachable and compassionate, taking the time to explain what was happening and making sure I felt informed every step of the way.
What impressed me most was how genuinely invested she was in my case. She fought my corner tirelessly, chased the other parties relentlessly and advocated for me when I found myself in an incredibly difficult position after relying on repeatedly proposed completion dates. I always felt that she cared about achieving the best possible outcome for me, rather than simply progressing another transaction.
Despite working under significant pressure and dealing with an extremely challenging chain, Kavindya remained professional, responsive and reassuring throughout. She never made me feel like I was asking too many questions, and her communication was excellent.
Buying a home is one of the most stressful experiences you can go through, and I honestly don't know how I would have got through this process without her. She is an absolute credit to Nova Legal, and I cannot recommend her highly enough.

Very poor communication
Very poor communication. They promised weekly updates but these stopped towards the end of the process when they would have been most useful. Often wouldn't return emails or phone calls (even when they had said they would ring at a particular time). They didn't explain things well and didn't proactively tell me what was happening so I had to ask about specific forms and processes that I didn't really understand because otherwise they would just ignore them. Communication around exchange and completion was very poor. They told me one day that they would exchange that afternoon, when I heard nothing from them I contacted them the next day only to be told they hadn't been able to do it. When it actually happened they didn't tell me until I asked. I heard nothing from them on completion day, I had to phone in the afternoon to ask whether I could pick up the keys to the new house.
It was also quite a slow process. They just wouldn't commit to whether or not we were ready to exchange. The whole sale was put at risk when they wouldn't commit and another buyer in the chain would have had to pull out if we couldn't complete by a certain date. They only agreed to exchange after I threatened to formally complain and agreed to pay an extra fee for a reduced time frame between exchange and completion.

We used novalegal to sell a property. There were complications along the way as one of the owners died and we had to wait for Probate. The team were always respectful of our circumstances and worked with us to get the sale complete. There were many hold ups in the process, but the majority were due to the buyers legal team. We had an excellent experience with Michael and Umar throughout our house purchase. From start to finish, they were professional, responsive, and incredibly efficient.
We received regular weekly updates, which kept us fully informed and gave us confidence that everything was progressing as it should. It was clear that a huge amount of work was being done behind the scenes, and everything on their side was dealt with quickly and efficiently.
Unfortunately, the delays we experienced were due to the sellers' side, but Michael and Umar kept us updated every step of the way, explaining the timelines and keeping us informed of any progress. Their communication was outstanding and really helped reduce the stress of buying a home.

Buying a house is never easy however...
Buying a house is never straightforward, but Jayali and Asjaadh made the whole process as smooth and stress-free as possible from start to finish.

Positive experience
Nish, Sadham & team were excellent with communication providing weekly updates when awaiting to hear back from other professionals and answering any questions we had. When moving day finally came around, they talked us through everything very well. The online portal was very helpful too. There was a slight issue when the case was handed over which was overlooked by several professionals not just Nova though as soon as this was rectified everything else was as smooth as it could be. Overall I had a good experience with them.

We used Nova through our Mortgage Advisor - as first time buyers, we didn't know who to instruct and were happy to use their recommendation.
Of course, prior to this, we'd heard all the usual stories of "you're forever going to be chasing your solicitors for updates", and expected as such.
Well, that was never the case for us. From the get-go, Asjaadh was on the ball and kept us updated throughout the entire process either via telephone or email, without us needing to lift a finger!
Towards the end of the process, we were introduced to Shaahid who has also been phenomenal with communication.
Between navigating the new Renter's Rights and a very sudden completion date to aim for, both Asjaadh and Shaahid were absolutely fantastic and had patients of Saints.
We can't thank either of them enough for ensuring our first time purchase was, quite literally, stress-free!
It has been a pleasure, we would absolutely recommend Nova to anybody and, should we ever decide to move in the future, we'd like to have Nova on our side!
