Oak Staircase
Having used oak by design previously we again contacted Joanne with an enquiry for a bespoke oak Staircase.
The initial meeting with Joanne was very good and enabled a costing for the works which was done very quickly.
After accepting the price we again had another meeting with Joanne and Dave from production which finalised the design.
The delivery date given was met on time and the staircase is of the best standard.
We are currently finishing fixing the stairs on site and will supply pictures of the finished product at a later date.
We will not hesitate to use this company on our future contracts.

From the first enquiry for a 2 bay Car Port Joanne and her team were extremely helpful,. There was several questions on design that needed answering, which were done straight away without any delay or fuss
The product was delivered on time, and within the timescale quoted on the first enquiry
The actual fitting of the Car Port on site went perfectly, are fitted together easily,
and most importantly the clients love it
I would nt hestitate to reccomend OBD to anyone, a thoroughly superb service

We were made aware of Oakbydesign when a company working on a site next to ours had used them for an oak sunroom.
We were very impressed with the quality and finish so engaged with Oakbydesign for our next project - 4 oak trusses that were to be the centre piece of a new extension.
The communication from Joanne is second to none and any issues are ironed out immediately. Turn around on the project was fast and the installation easy. The trusses look fantastic and really set off this new space.

It wasn’t too long after that we used Oakbydesign again, this time for an oak sunroom. Again great service, high quality product and great customer satisfaction.

We are extremely delighted with our new Garden and Sun Room.

"Millstone Building Services" of whom i am the company director were the nominated contractors for the renovation of a farmhouse project in Stockport in 2025.
Oak By Design were the nominated company chosen to supply the oak sun room by the client & Architect.
I liaised with Joanne, who had initially dealt with Lee at L. R. Design.
As a contractor, the use of "Oak Frame" was new to ourselves and having ongoing conversations with Joanne we were invited to the showroom/workshop where i met with Joanne & David, the workshop supervisor, where we discussed the construction and build of the oak framework and glazing etc. From a n installation point of view, this information and understanding were invaluable when we received all the framework.
Once everything was ready, the deliveries were on time as requested and the third party delivery company very accommodating with the deliveries to a somewhat remote site location.
When all the components were on site having the experience of the factory visit, the framework itself went together easily, like a jigsaw!
All the framework came to site pre-oiled which was an absolute time saver!
In addition to the main framework Oak by Design also supplied additional Skirting boards, window boards and some feature custom panels we requested, again to a very high finish.
Our clients are over the moon with the finished project, and as a company we'd have no hesitation in using and recommending "Oak By Design" for any future work.

We wanted to renovate our Front Garden and always wanted an Oak Porch on the front of the house. We came across Oak By Design on Instagram which helped us get some inspiration for our own. From start to finish Joanne and the team have been amazing and always very helpful. The design process was really easy and they are very good in making sure we got what we wanted. What a fabulous company! From visiting the showroom, to installation- our experience with Oak by Design has been an absolute pleasure. Our project grew and Oak by Design accommodated us with each request. Nothing has been too much trouble. The design was efficiently conceived, and although our timescales were short ObD managed to work collaboratively with our builders. The Orangery is a beautifully constructed, the craftsmanship to be admired. We are absolutely delighted. Internal doors and stairs were also installed with precision and care. We were consulted on each stage. Communication was excellent. The most pleasing aspect of the build however was the amazing people we got to know over a period of months. So to Jamie, Ben, Bill, Jake & Daz in particular, a special shout out and Thank you, and you should be proud of the superb relationships you are able to establish with your clients! Great job!

From start to finish, buying an oak, open fronted porch from 'Oak by design' could not have been better. Jo gently guided us through our options, giving us time to make the right decisions and making suggestions to help create the look we wanted. There was no hard sell, there was no need, the product spoke for itself, there are lots of companys out there trying to offer the same product, but the quality is not a patch on what these guys offer. Visiting the showroom allowed us to see what the porch would look like up and the guys, Dave Barry and Josh in the workshop could not have been more helpful. They tweeked and changed a few things, nothing was too much trouble. They gave us the information and time we needed to make the right choices and now it is installed we could not be happier. Everyone who passes, including the postman have asked where we bought the porch from. We have certainly got all the neighbours talking. Our house has turned from being a fairly standard looking 50s bungalow to a bungalow with style. Its a practical , sturdy, beautiful addition to our home. Thank you 'oak by design' for making it happen, we recommend you to everyone, a fabulous company to work with, will definitely be choosing you for future projects, could not be happier.

It is rare to be able to genuinely say I cannot recommend a company more...5 stars is not enough! During a large renovation project which included creating a new entrance and open oak porch, our contact and service from Oak by Design was the most pleasurable part.
We wanted an entrance with a "wow" and
we have had many compliments from visitors, tradespeople and passers by so
have certainly achieved that. Our builder
described the porch as a "work of art" :)
and it has surpassed our expectations.
Amanda was incredibly patient with us during the design process and truly went "above and beyond" in providing help and
extra touches such as engraving, chamfered edges to beams, extra covers and a plate to hide wiring and mount a light...The list goes on. Nothing seemed too much effort !
You will not regret choosing Oak by Design for any project you have in mind and we will definitely use them again soon as we look
to add some finishing touches internally to
our project. A huge thankyou goes to the whole team.
From design to completion of an oak porch

The process from initial contact through design, survey and installation was really smooth with proactive communication from the Oak by Design team. The installation crew were friendly and professional and we are delighted with the look and quality of our oak canopy - I'm very glad to have randomly asked a stranger who installed their porch canopy!!

A great local supplier, with a fantastic product. They met their prompt schedule and installed it with a smile. I'd certainly recommend them

We wanted to find a local supplier for our new Oak Porch and we found them advertised in our Yorkshire Life magazine and so pleased we used "Oak by Design" too. From the outset, their warm and genuine welcome, their excellent showroom and they listen and understood exactly what we wanted and delivered it to perfection. Barry , workshop manager was meticulous in every detail and listened and delivered perfectly exactly what we wanted. Their Customer Service was exemplary - the whole team took pride their work. I purchased a pergola from oak by design recently. I spoke to several companies before choosing them. They're a friendly bunch, the quality of workmanship is outstanding, the design process was excellent and the fitters were very professional. The pergola really enhances my house.

Oak structures are quite an investment so you need to know that you are dealing with the right people. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend oak by design
