Inexperienced crew damages painted wall

We hired Odyssey Painting Services to correct a highly visible drywall irregularities in our brand new construction home. The drywall required a true Level 5 finish due to critical lighting conditions. Before starting the project, the scope, the photos, and the videos showcasing irregularities were thoroughly reviewed by Odyssey Paining Services owner, and an on-site visit was conducted. We were explicitly told this was well within their capabilities, with a stated confidence level of 9 out of 10 and an estimated completion time of 2 days. The actual outcome did not align with those representations. After multiple attempts, the wall still exhibits clear defects under same lighting conditions that was there prior despite owner's stated extremely high confidence (verbalized 9 out of 10 confidence in front of multiple witnesses), including visible surface waviness, depressions and high spots, joint telegraphing, and inconsistent surface texture and porosity. These are not subtle issues and are especially apparent under grazing light, which is exactly the condition a Level 5 finish is intended to address. The process itself raised additional concerns. The work appeared inconsistent and experimental rather than methodical, with repeated adjustments that did not resolve the underlying surface plane issues. Job site protection and cleanliness were also below expectations. We experienced damage and disruption including: scratches and scuffs on doors, paint splatter on adjacent surfaces, water spills, dust migration beyond the contained area, residue on floors and exterior areas. For a project of this type, proper containment and protection should be standard. I would urge any homeowner to stay away from this contractor and their false claims if you want to avoid a disappointing outcome and deep regret of not only failed attempt but also additional damage to your home.
