Unprofessional, Unreliable, and Overpriced – Avoid!

We have been long-standing customers, but unfortunately, this company has shown a complete lack of professionalism and customer care.

Their booking system is unreliable—while they schedule you for the day, they fail to provide an exact time and then turn up whenever it suits them. Our last check was extremely disruptive because the engineer arrived too early without proper instructions from the office team. Had we not been able to rush and open the building, we would have been charged a cancellation fee. This actually happened to us before—an engineer called once to say they were on their way, with no further communication, and when we couldn’t accommodate their unannounced arrival, they charged us a cancellation fee.

This lack of coordination caused major disruptions to our work and our clients. Despite their mistake, they refused to compensate us or even acknowledge their error. Their pricing is already higher than many other companies, yet their service does not reflect that value.

We manage a community hall on a voluntary basis for a charity, and their careless approach has caused us unnecessary stress and financial strain. Even after clearly explaining the inconvenience and requesting a small goodwill discount due to their mistake, they refused. No accountability, no apology—just pure disregard for a long-standing customer.

Their management is absolutely terrible, and after years of loyalty, we will never use them again. If you value professionalism, clear communication, and customer service, I strongly advise looking elsewhere.

Office test book you in for the day

Office test book you in for the day, then they turn up just whenever without giving exact time. Last check was so disruptive as engineer arrived too early, not been instructed by the office team. Had we not been able to go and open the building for them, we would have been charged. (This happened to us previously where someone called once to say they are on their way and that was it. No further communication, then they sent a cancellation fee)
This meant disrupting client and lots hours of work for myself. They did not compensate us for the mistake and till now did not acknowledge it was their mistake. (more expensive than many other companies)
I would not trust them with charges, they really do not value a long standing customer, sadly.

I was cheated into paying twice for the same service

I contacted Office Test for a Fire risk assessment. After doing the FRA, they then requested more documentation. When i told them i did not have the documentation they said i needed to get the documentation and book a new FRA costing £795.

Ultimately Office Test has not fulfilled its obligations. Failure to provide documentation is not an acceptable reason to not service their client. This is extremely bad practice, if documentation isn’t present then it’s as simple as raising an action and helping the client become compliant.

It’s like saying we won’t service the client if there’s breaches in compartmentation, they need to get it fixed and then we’ll service it! I’m genuinely gobsmacked at this, the fire risk assessment should be telling me in a finding to get the relevant documents, helping compliance with the rrfso 2005, one of the main purposes of the fire risk assessment.

We are looking into getting a full refund for failure to provide the service. I have contacted them but they refuse to respond to me! Will be following this up in small claims court

Great Service - Nathan Lambert & Office Test

I often require Fire Risk Assessments completed for properties, I've worked with Office Test and their Health, Safety and Fire Consultant - Nathan Lambert on a number of occasions. The assessments are extensive and thorough, and with each time, Nathan offers expert advice and highlights improvement areas. I would highly recommend them.

Great company for electrical testing.

We needed a couple of appliances PAT tested, OfficeTest got someone out within two hours. Our query was handled very graciously and efficiently, the engineeer who came out was also a pleasure to deal with and got the work done very quickly and to a good standard. The price was higher than I expected, but would have been good value for money if we'd had more applicances to test within their minimum charge. I would go back to this company again for any similar requirements in future.
