Arrogant and condescending

I booked a call with this agency because our brand is looking for creative support, as we don’t currently have an in-house team and need help producing more ad creatives, more quickly.

Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. Damy came across as arrogant, rude, and condescending, all while framing their approach as if they “care” about your business. During the call, he criticized our strategy of running ads across multiple pages with different creators, something that is actually quite common and effective.

They also claimed that producing 36 creatives per month would be “too much” for us, which is simply not true. On top of that, they dismissed our €100k/month ad budget as too small to even bother with, something that would have been helpful to know upfront instead of wasting time in a meeting.

Overall, the call felt unproductive and unnecessarily harsh. It was a frustrating experience, and I left the meeting feeling quite upset.

I would not recommend booking a call with them.

EDIT AFTER RESPONSE: Thank you for your response. However, I believe there has been a fundamental misunderstanding of our setup. As mentioned during the call, we do not operate with a rigid, fixed structure and are open to testing new approaches.

Despite this, my input was dismissed early on, and the conversation shifted toward a series of questions that felt more like an interrogation than a discovery discussion.

This approach was not appropriate for the context.

Additionally, there was a repeated assumption that our previous agency relationship reflects how we intend to work moving forward, which is not accurate.

I also want to address the assertion that you “always know how everything plays out.” Such a claim is not only unrealistic but undermines the collaborative and exploratory nature of this process.

We value constructive dialogue and mutual understanding, and this interaction did not reflect that standard.

Hi Victoria,

Damy here.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review, I appreciate it.

I’m sorry if the call felt frustrating or came across harsher than expected, that wasn’t my intention.

Just to give some context from my side, this was a discovery call to understand if there was a real fit to potentially work together and if we could genuinely add value.

If I don’t see a strong fit at that stage, I prefer to say it early rather than move forward with something I’m not confident will work.

In your case, it wasn’t about the budget. We work with brands at different stages, both smaller and significantly larger, when there is strong alignment.

The main point I raised during the call was around the current setup, specifically how creatives are distributed across multiple external pages instead of being tested in a more structured and consolidated way. From experience, this can make testing and scaling less efficient.

Because of that, I didn’t feel confident that our model would have been the right fit at this stage.

And instead of proposing a collaboration that might not have been optimal for you, I chose to be transparent and direct about it. That’s something I care about a lot. We only move forward when we truly believe we can make a real impact and build something that lasts.

During the call, I also shared some of our internal testing guidelines and suggested alternative ways to source and test creatives more efficiently, so you could keep improving performance without necessarily working with an agency like ours at this stage.

I understand my communication style is very direct, and if that came across the wrong way, I apologize. It’s never about being dismissive, just about being honest from the start.

I respect the fact that you’re actively working on improving your creative strategy and scaling your brand, that’s not easy, and it’s clear you’re putting in the effort.

Wishing you and your team continued growth and success moving forward. And if your setup evolves in a way that aligns more with how we work, we’ll be happy to reconnect.

Before working with OMC we struggled to…

Before working with OMC we struggled to create winning ads both from an operational and creative standpoint.

With OMC the results weren't immediate but after a few months working together we were able to scale the ad account to significant spend while increasing ROAS.

The team is always available and ready to learn and adapt. Recommended.
