Phenomenal safari. The guide was exceptional, my co-travellers were wonderful, the camps were beautiful, the food was great, and the planning was outstanding. This is a somewhat rugged experience that might not be for everyone, but for me it was a dream to visit this beautiful, remote area of Africa. Thank you, Okavango Delta Explorations, I will do this again!

Louise organized a wonderful trip for us: she was always answering immediately, her knowledge about Botswana and her recommendations were impressive, all camps were outstanding, all special requests were catered for and the entire trip could not have run more smoothly. Kudos to such a brilliant organization. We would always work with her again.

The choices of camps and terrains that cater for safaris in the Okavango Delta is bewildering, and so we decided to arrange our trip with someone that had expert local knowledge .

From the outset Louise at Okavango Delta Explorations made a very professional impression. She went to great lengths to understand the type of accommodation and activities we wanted to enjoy on our trip to Victoria Falls and the Okavango Delta. She then proposed a rich choice of options for us to consider which were then tailored to suit our preferences which was to visit and experience the Okavango Delta on both the plains and the wetlands. All the accommodation and transfer arrangements worked like clockwork. Louise’s intimate local knowledge of the camps and terrains and people on the ground is an invaluable resource and she arranged for us to stay in some charming camps with excellent service standards and very knowledgeable camp staff, game trackers and guides. We had very rich game viewing, including an amazing number of leopard encounters, and had other exceptional wildlife encounters in the camp, on land and in the delta waters. The trip was unforgettable and exceeded our expectations at every level.

We booked a trip to Namibia and Botswana through Louise at Okavango Delta Explorations. We had the most wonderful time everywhere and everything lived up to our expectations well and truly plus so much more. The camps we stayed in were lovely and absolute 5 star service. Louise was so knowledgable and able to plan a trip for us where we got to see absolutely everything we hoped for. She was always prompt in getting back to me whenever we had questions (of which there were many-as our trip got postponed by 3 years due to covid) each time it was re-booked with ease thanks to her. She was friendly and professional always. We will not hesitate to book again through Okavango Delta Explorations. Thank you so much Louise and team!

The team listened to what I wanted and designed the perfect trip. I could not have asked for a better African experience, from planning, quality of the guides, and incredible camps.
The complete surprise was the app provided with my trip. It operates without wifi and was unexpectedly helpful. With all the information you need, flight information, map, etc but the gem was the ability to write a travel diary that you can then send to family and friends. If you have ever come back from a trip and wished you could have documented what you learnt that day and add a few photos - then this is the tool for you!

Great detail in information provided. Vamoos app is excellent. But does not work when you have no internet in the Delta.
Service provided at all locations was excellent. Very friendly and correct staff. Perfect guide/tracker teams.
State of maintenance of the safari vehicles at Nxai pan camp was poor. Two game drives showed mechanical issues. At one point in time we drove back to the lodge with no brakes. Oil had leaked away during the drive. Problems were known to the staff involved beforehand. That means that by going on the game drive anyway you risk the life of your guests and staff.
Communications (comms) while in the bush (in case of emergencies). Taking into account availability of modern technical communication capabilities these days like radio/ satcom/internet/gsm networking, it is unacceptable to not have simple comms facilities in the lodges between cabins etc (e.g. a simple telephone land line). Only a panic blowhorn? Serious? Same applies for in the vehicles. At least a satphone in case of emergency and GPS locator, could shorten reaction times in case someone is badly hurt and needs to be picked up by air (helo).
But never the less all put together we have had a beautiful safari experience at Pom Pom, Splash and Nxai pan camps

We had an amazing experience. Louise selected three camps to explore Kalahari Desert, Okavango Delta and Chobe National Park. Each was varied, wonderful people, a variety of wildlife and great cuisine. We especially loved having a sundowner out in the Kalahari and taking a slow drive back with the stars shining above, crisp night air and stopping to listen to the sounds of the desert. We loved the watering holes and the viewing of the animals up close and personal. Lastly, the guides really made the trip. We learned so much about the animal behaviors as we watched and listened. All 3 of our guides were very good at tracking and showing us the different tracks and directions the animals were headed. We fell in love with Botswana and its cultural heritage.

Pelo Camp was a fabulous experience. Our guide Johnny was knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, and a great storyteller. The whole staff were professional, attentive, and friendly. The common areas of the camp provided spectacular views of open marshland. The tents were very comfortable, private, and had everything we wanted and needed. The cook and wait staff were exceptional in every regard. The food was delicious, the service outstanding. Staying at Pelo allowed us incredible wildlife experiences and gave us an understanding of the ecosystem of the delta. We highly recommend Pelo camp for a unique Okavango experience.

Louise put together a perfect itinerary for us - and at very short notice. Her inside knowledge was invaluable and she was able to recommend three excellent camps that more than exceeded our expectations. Fantastic locations, accommodation, food and most importantly guides. I can't recommend highly enough.

Absolutely everything about this trip was perfect. All scheduled transfers worked perfectly. The camps although very different were outstanding in every aspect. Guides & trackers brilliant, knowledgeable, enthusiastic & determined to make our trip special. Staff at both camps went out of their way to ensure our stay was outstanding, including specific catering for a Gluten Free and Lactose free client. Our needs were catered for at every single meal and the food was of such high quality. I would highly recommend this company and would use them again without hesitation. Just brilliant all round. First of all the Okavango Delta team made it personal by calling me, rather than playing email ping pong. Anna listened to our interests, offered valid alternatives when the first option was not available and had real life experience of the area to recommend how long to spend in each place. Finally when our international flights out were cancelled at 10.30pm in the evening, everything in Africa was rearranged by 8.30am the next morning.
Superb service, by extremely knowledgeable staff, leading to one of the best trips we have had in a long time.

Even with the most complicated itinerary, we always felt confident that the transitions would be handled seamlessly: one time a major flight time change was communicated to all affected with minimum disturbance to the traveler. Highlights: Genocide Memorial, Gorillas (It takes 4 years for them to accept humans at close range)... but you have to have a reasonable level of agility and overall fitness to get to them, Namiri Plains Cheetahs, Ngorogongo Crater...interesting that you can get much closer to the more skittish animals than out in the Serengeti!

Louise used her personal experience and knowledge to help us plan a holiday that gave exactly what we wanted. The camps at Shinde and Kanana were great. The staff were very welcoming, well trained and highly competent, and could not have done more to make our stay enjoyable and rewarding.
We have spent many years in Africa, and visited many game reserves; this trip was fabulous, and quite different from others.

Our Okavango experience was extraordinary. We stayed in Little Sable and had the camp nearly to ourselves. The luxurious tents had everything one needs and I especially loved the outside shower.
Our guide was exceptional and incredibly knowledgeable. All in all the whole experience was just outstanding. I can recommend Okavango Delta Expeditions without reservation.

The best holiday ever! The best destination and the best souvenirs!

This was an exceptional trip from start to finish. Expectations were far exceeded. Prior to finding Okavango Delta Explorations, I was struggling to find a suitable trip. The ability to connect with the team (Anna), provide a brief outline of what we would like to do and see, then have this trip put together into an easily understandable format was great. Apart from the excellent locations that matched out timeframes and budget, it was the small things like being met but tour representatives at each step, having a pre-made lunch for an early flight, and continuity between various different travel providers took all of the pressure off travel and enhanced our experience.

The three locations were all special and quite different. We loved all three and couldn't find a favourite between them - a sign of a great holiday. Additionally, we made some last-minute changes which were all accommodated and made our trip amazing.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Okavango Delta Explorations and will DEFINITELY be re-booking future trips with this team.

Botswana safari. Excellent! Okavango Delta took the time to understand us, our past experiences, what we wanted in a Botswana experience, and the price options. Trip was outstanding! Can hardly wait to return (or possibly explore another African country)!
