Never got my order, no customer service - not sure if this company even exists

Never got my order, contacted them over every means possible, no one got back to me. Not sure if it's a scam site but there's definitely no customer service whatsoever after taking your money. Will need to pursue through credit card company.

Further update - after additional efforts to reach them, I got given some one liner to say it has been shipped but then they never followed up with tracking or anything and it is now 3 days past when it was due to arrive.

Definitely a scam website/company - either that, or they are horribly run with zero customer service.

A quick look on Companies House shows that they're also way behind in their filing of accounts...

WARNING AVOID ! !

Received the bicycle yesterday late. Unpacked today and dire dissatisfaction.
Paint chips, rust spot, frame skew causing forks to splay.
One part of the bike looks like someone’s been at it with a grinder. Cost £300 !
Wish I done my diligence and checked this company. Their filing history on Companies House is very sketchy and there was action to strike them off in 2024.
No phone number to contact anyone, the return link on their website is faulty and I have had no reply to my emails requesting return details to comply with the regulatory 14 day return policy.

I initially purchased an Oliver bicycle…

I initially purchased an Oliver bicycle early last year and was told that the model I had selected and purchased on their website was out of stock and I would have to wait for it. They offered me an alternative but it wasn’t what I wanted. This wasn’t an issue as such but they seemed keen to keep the business which possibly should have been a red flag.

I knew from the cost and the reviews that this was not a premium product and that I was going to need to change some items on an Oliver bicycle but was attracted by the low price and, admittedly, their brand.

I emailed about my bike, I think to enquire about one of the packages, to check it was in stock before I ordered and it may seem small but I was told I would get a water bottle with it either way. When the bike was delivered there was no bottle so this was already a bad start. I unpacked the bike and it was clear that the instructions did not match what was in the box - presumably they have changed how they package the product. I was able to work around this.
After no more than ten miles of commuter cycling, on smooth and flat cycle paths the chain on the bike snapped clean in two as I left work meaning I had to get a bus home and collect the bike with the car the next day. Oliver refunded the cost of a new chain and apologised however never really did anything to make up for this.
Once repaired I had another issue where the freewheel hub on the bicycle was starting to disintegrate and it eventually stopped freewheeling which was incredibly dangerous. I took this to be repaired at a local bike shop and was again reimbursed. This is again however, hours of my own time and fuel in the car which I shouldn’t be having to use when I’ve bought a NEW bicycle.
Around October 2023 I was again cycling home from work when the crank on the bike bent in two. I’d just crossed a road so it was lucky that I wasn’t hit if I had been stranded in the road. Again Oliver refunded the cost of the bike shops repair and apologised but have done nothing to compensate the inconvenience and cost to me. They offered me a new bike at one point but couldn’t make any guarantees that the new bike wouldn’t have the same issues.
I’m incredibly frustrated by Oliver and the bicycle and would avoid them in possible. I feel cheap is fine if it functions but clearly this bike does not function.

City Sleek Black Model

Purchased the ‘Citi Sleek Black’ model and it’s really good value for money. Customer services were quick to respond to a couple of follow up questions. Perfect for commuting to the station and easy to set-up when following instructions on the website.

Communication when the product isn’t…

Communication when the product isn’t available rather than taking money. Deliver y was 2 week late on a different bike supposed to be in stock.
My son just called complaining that the seat keeps moving although it’s been screwed on tight. The brakes are rubbish and have plastic hence it’s difficult to brake. Very very poor. I want to return but my son is only 13. More worried about him having an accident in what’s supposed to be a new bike serviced at a bike shop

Great bike!

The company was very responsive to my questions which was great, as I was purchasing the bike for my boyfriend as a surprise birthday present, and was nervous about the purchase. I have never seen my boyfriend so happy with a gift, he absolutely loves the bike and is flying around all over London on it haha. Thank you!

Bad quality bike

On the website they looks good but after I built the bike i can feel the bike’s quality is bad, and it doesn’t worth £200, you can get a better bike in Decathlon. Disappointed.

3 months wait

Review for Oliver Cycling:

I had a highly frustrating experience with Oliver Cycling when I placed an order for a Yellow Urban 2.0 Oliver bicycle on April 18. The website advertised a 15% discount, which was enticing. However, shortly after placing the order, I received an email stating that the product was out of stock, even though it was still listed for sale on the website. It became evident that the Shopify seller had enabled overselling on their products, which was a major inconvenience.

On April 19, I was presented with two options: either accept a different size and color alternative or wait for the item to be restocked. I chose to wait, hoping that the bicycle I initially ordered would become available soon. However, the waiting game proved to be arduous. On May 23, I reached out to the seller to inquire about the fulfillment status of my order. I was informed that I would have to wait until the end of June, as the restock was scheduled for that time.

With no update received by June 22, I reached out again for an update on my order, but unfortunately, I didn't receive any response. Frustrated and eager for information, I messaged again on June 27, and finally, on June 28, I was informed that the stock had arrived in the UK on July 3rd and was expected to be delivered to me by July 12th.

However, the communication from Oliver Cycling remained inconsistent. On July 18, I inquired about the progress of my order, and on July 19, I was told that the items were in stock but undergoing quality checking before being dispatched for shipment. This seemed promising, but my hopes were quickly dashed on July 20 when I was informed that the item was actually not in stock. At this point, I had lost all faith in the company's ability to fulfill my order as promised.

Fed up with the constant delays, changing offers, and false information, I requested a full refund, which I am currently waiting to receive. This entire experience has been a major inconvenience, causing unnecessary stress and disappointment. Oliver Cycling's lack of communication and failure to fulfill orders as promised has left me with a negative impression of the company.

I would strongly advise potential customers to exercise caution when considering making a purchase from Oliver Cycling until they can demonstrate reliable stock availability, improved communication, and a commitment to fulfilling orders in a timely manner.

The worst online retail experience of my life!

Buying an Oliver Bicycle has been the worst online retail experience of my life! Please see chronicle of me trying to buy a cheap bike to ride with my son on a lads and dad's ride because my bike was stolen.

4 June - Purchase Large Black Urban City 2.0 off your website.
5 June - Receive email saying unfortunately you don't have that bike in stock (why your website is not kept up to date, I don't know.). Would I like to wait till the end of June when the new stock arrives or a white bike and £10 refund. I choose the 2nd option because I need a bike for bike ride with my son.
6 June - £10 Refund
7 June - Bike arrives damaged. That night I send photos of the damaged fork and what for a response.
8 June - The customer service team offers for me to go to a bike shop to get the damage repaired (it is a damaged fork and want to have metal fatigue on my new hike) or send me a new fork. I choose the second option. And end up having to borrow a bike for the Lads and Dad's ride I was supposed to go on with my son.
13 July - Email to say that I had asked for a replacement forks, have they been sent?
14 July - Receive an email apologising for the delay and the forks have been dispatched and will arrive by Friday 16th.
19 July - Send email to say that no replacement forks have not arrived. Get a reply apologising for the forks not arriving and that they have had an issue with their emails and that this why there is so much confusion. At this stage I lose my patience becuase why lie about the forks being dispatched? I ask for a refund and for a courier to be booked to collect the bike.
20 June - Courier label sent and I was told the bike would be collected Weds 21st.
21 June - Email to say that I waited all day at home for the bike to be collected and nobody arrived. I also asked when I would be refunded and the response was when we receive the bike. I am even more frustrated because I booked a day off to be at home for the collection to sort this bike story out.
22 June - Receive a reply saying that there was an issue on the couriers side and that they would try collect the next day or you would re-book. My wife stayed home all but 1 hr between 4-5pm when she had an appointment and nobody arrived.
23 June - My wife was at home all morning and there has been no attempted collection yet. Send another email to complain about the collection and how I am being messed around! Receive a response blaming Parcelforce and their emails.
26 June - Email again to ask about an update. Get a response to say that Parcelforce are still investigating. And they offer me a new bike. I accept a new bike.
27 June - Receive and email saying the new bike should be delivered by the 29th. Later in the day receive another email apologising that the bike offered to replace my defective one is out of stock. Reply saying if there is no replacement bike or forks, please get this bike collected so that I can finally get my money back. Receive reply now offering to send me the forks. I am so over this whole experience I accept the forks. Get an email saying they have been dispatched first class and will be with me on the 28th.
29 June - Email to say the forks haven't arrived and the tracking number provided doesn't work. Response is that they can see they have been delivered and apologise.
30 June - Forks finally arrive.

26 days of the most ridiculous lies and excuses. The website is not up to date. The customer service is poor! If the bike was damaged during shipping, there must have been an extreme amount of force used by the courier because it is extremely difficult/impossible to bend back with the help of all the tools in my tool case including a lump hammer. So, why use that courier because it seems my bike isn't the first to arrived damaged looking at some reviews.

Overall, I will never recommend buying an Oliver Bicycle to anyone. The price of the bike is not worth the hassle. Specially when you can by a similar priced bike from Decathlon.

We aim to respond to all of our queries in a timely manner and believe we have done this throughout. When you ordered your bike this was out of stock and we offered you a reimbursement for changing bicycles. We thoroughly apologise for you bike being damaged and did offer you a replacement. Unfortunately we did not have this in stock at this time and did try contacting you regarding this but sadly their was an issue with our email which we thoroughly and sincerely apologise for. We did then offer you a replacement bike where we could cover the cost for this to dropped off and your damaged bike to be collected. WE understand the frustration with the delay in this although once this is booked it is out of our hands and in our delivery service's which we did contact for you and left you an update regarding this. While this was occurring we offered you the replacement fork and again Royal Mail failed to deliver this next day but the day after. The tracking number was correct and an issue on their end. Again we are extremely that you aren't happy with the service we have provided. We have taken all of your comments on and aim to better ourselves in the future.
