Many people expressed significant dissatisfaction with the service and customer service, often finding it unhelpful and difficult to get clear answers or support. Issues frequently arose with flight cancellations and the subsequent refund process, which many found frustrating and unresponsive. Reviewers also reported negative experiences with staff, citing unhelpful attitudes and a lack of understanding regarding specific situations. While some customers had positive experiences with the booking process and in-flight service, the predominant sentiment points to widespread problems with communication, accountability, and the overall handling of customer inquiries and issues.

DO NOT USE THIS AIRLINE

DO NOT USE THIS AIRLINE

Absolutely shocking customer service department & refund department.

Paid for our holiday package through love holidays.

Paid £261.20 EXTRA for our seats on the Oman Air app.

The flight got cancelled & I emailed Oman Air TWENTY ONE days ago to get a refund for the seats we paid for.

Not one response from them other than the automated response which said I would get a reply within 15 days, it’s now been 21 days.

Called the customer service department multiple times for them to just say they can’t help & will email the refund department who I’ve already emailed 21 days ago.

Now going to have to speak with CAA as well as currently trying to get a chargeback to my card because their customer service is THAT shocking & they don’t want to help you unless your SPENDING money.

When it comes to refunding it they don’t respond & won’t help you in any way shape or form.

This airline feels like a scam with wings

Still fuming. Booked Muscat–Bangkok; they bumped me off the last leg without warning, leaving me stranded at 2 a.m. with a toddler and zero staff in sight. Phone line rang dead, email silence, tweet ignored. Had to drop $800 on a new ticket just to get home. This airline feels like a scam with wings.

Never again

Paid extra for comfy seats; at check-in they vanished. Twelve-hour Muscat layover, no lounge, no water, just fluorescent purgatory. Crew shrugged in that “not my job” tone. Landed scratched, exhausted, and undeniably poorer - never again, Oman Air.

Delayed Connecting flight

Connecting flight was delayed for more than 12 hrs, asked if I could atleast use the inhouse hotel to take a nap as I was coming from a long flight, it was not provided even though they told me I have to wait. No other compensations given. And the Customer Service is useless re refund. 👎

A truly top-notch experience with Oman Air

My flight with Oman Air from Europe to Southeast Asia was hands down the best I've ever had. The plane was a newer model, offering ample space and a very clean cabin environment that made the long journey incredibly comfortable. The personnel were amazing, friendly, attentive, and highly professional. What stood out the most were the meals, which were surprisingly reasonable and delicious for such a long flight. It was a truly top-notch experience, and I would highly recommend Oman Air to anyone.

Never Book with Oman Air Again

We have bought 2 flight tickets for Manila and we are experiencing a VERY bad customer service: nobody is answering our multiple emails asking for the Invoice issuing. Furthermore, our flight schedule has been modified without informing us. I'm having a truely bad experience, I'll never book with them again.

Check in employee intentionally delayed…

Check in employee intentionally delayed us and made me and my wife with pre existing health conditions run through the airport, i cant describe how incompetent yet narcissistic these employees are.

I will keep it as short as i can, in muscat airport with two counters workers for a whole line took 30 minutes just to check in two customers, it was my turn next, they didnt want to serve me because i complained about how long this was taking and my flight departs soon. After i insisted they do their job, employee took so much time intentionally. By asking about every possible electronic that i may have, although i said “ no electronics” , by asking stupid questions about my wifes visa to egypt although she is an american with visa on arrival as an option and marriage based residency, and by giving me the boarding passes and going through it like “ this is the gate, this is the flight number..etc” i was in a rush there was 3 minutes left by the time we got to the gate.

Warning about customer service and request for help

In March 2025, I booked a flight from FRA to BKK in Business Studio for October 2025. The return flight is scheduled to take place three weeks later in Business Class.

Immediately after booking in March 2025, I received the corresponding booking reference and ticket number. However, I was unable to manage the booking online with this information. I contacted Oman by email, where I was told to call them. When I called, I was immediately told to contact them by email. After several back-and-forths, I was then able to manage the booking.

Unfortunately, Oman Air has since changed the aircraft on the outbound flight, meaning that Business Studio is no longer offered (even though it had been paid for and confirmed). Since it was not possible to cancel or change the booking online (again), I had to call the hotline again to ask about compensation for the downgrade, change or cancellation and the associated conditions – unfortunately, I was not sent any fare rules when the ticket was sent or they are not available online in my booking.

Same story... I was told to send an email. I did so to “callcenterhelpdesk.” After one or two weeks without a response, I called the hotline again. Once again, I was told that the flight could not be changed or canceled and that they did not know if and what compensation would be applied for the downgrade. So I sent another email to Oman, this time to “websalesrefund.” After about a week without a response, I called again—this time specifically (at probably exorbitant rates) in Oman. They said they couldn't tell me what the conditions for cancellation were and couldn't do it over the phone. I should send an email.

When I pointed out that the conditions of carriage clearly state that online bookings (I booked directly with WY) can be changed or canceled online or by phone, they simply told me to write an email.
When I further pointed out that the hotline message says “press 2 for changes and cancellations” and that I wanted to make a cancellation... You can imagine the response: “Write an email.”

At present, I can only advise everyone against booking with Oman Air. I myself have now called the hotline 6 or 7 times and written about the same number of emails. The whole process has been going on for several months. As the flight date in October is getting closer and closer, I don't know what to do anymore.
Therefore, I would at least like to submit the appropriate review and warn others about Oman Air's business practices.

Do you have any recommendations on how I can proceed? Complaints to the consumer advice center (Verbraucherzentrale) or the Federal Aviation Authority (Luftfahrtbundesamt) do not seem sensible to me due to the time available.

Thank you very much!

Terrible experience with Oman Air

Terrible experience with Oman Air – long delays and no assistance!

I flew from Milan to Phuket with Oman Air, round trip – and both flights were delayed by more than 3 hours with absolutely no explanation or updates from the airline. No emails, no texts, no announcements – just silence.

Here’s the most absurd part: I had booked an airport shuttle through my hotel in Phuket. The day before my arrival, the hotel owner asked what time my flight was landing. I gave her the arrival time printed on my ticket. She replied, “There are no flights arriving at that time, only three hours later.” I didn’t think much of it — but guess what? She was right. The flight landed exactly 3 hours late, just as she predicted.

When I asked how she knew about the delay and I didn’t, she simply said, “I looked it up online.”
Meanwhile, Oman Air said absolutely nothing.

This makes me believe that Oman Air is knowingly advertising false flight times to make their routes look shorter and more attractive. Since they’re not required to compensate for these delays, they take advantage of the system. The only “compensation” I received was a sad McDonald’s sandwich (yes, really – see the stamp in the image).

Disgraceful service. No transparency, no respect for passengers, no accountability.
Oman Air is not a serious airline.
Avoid them at all costs.

Oman Air - worst airline on the planet

This airline could be the worst airline there is. Service is zero, value zero, customer care service below zero. Delayed flights are a norm in this airline. They don't notify you of any delays, you arrive at the airport only to be shocked that the flight has been delayed for 7 hours. You go to customer service, they dont have the decency to apologize, after a bit if shouting, they promise to put you in the airport hotel until the time of your delayed flight, you wait for almost an hour only to find out when you go to the hotel that they didnt do anything and we had to pay. This is beyond any bad airline experience I've had in all my years of traveling. On top of their unprofessional conduct regarding not notifying us of the delay they had the audacity of lying to our faces about putting us in airport hotel until our flight, only to find out that they lied to us. If anything, avoid this airline like a plaque. It is literally the worst airline service on the planet.

Just wanted to share a frustrating…

Just wanted to share a frustrating experience I had with Oman Air recently. After a long, delayed journey involving multiple reschedules, I arrived at my final destination only to find that my checked suitcase was clearly damaged — one wheel completely broken off.

I contacted Oman Air shortly after leaving the airport with photos showing the damage, including images of the suitcase still on the baggage carousel. Despite that, they rejected my claim outright, saying damage must be reported before leaving the airport. No flexibility, no assistance — just a blanket denial based on their own internal policy.

This goes directly against standard international practice, which usually gives passengers 7 days to report damaged baggage in writing. It's disappointing that an airline would hide behind their terms instead of dealing with valid customer complaints in good faith — especially when clear evidence was provided.

I’ll be escalating this further to the aviation authorities — just wanted to warn others: if you're flying with Oman Air, inspect your luggage immediately at the airport or they’ll refuse to help, no matter how obvious the damage is.

Flight was cancelled no contact made

We bought tickets with Oman Air to the Maldives (via Muscat) in April. It’s now July and I’ve just logged in to the app to find that the sectors from Muscat to Malé have apparently been cancelled- I say “apparently” as, despite booking with Oman Air directly, we’ve not been contacted AT ALL… we are frequent fliers, even low cost airlines send an email when there’s been schedule changes! The app shows different ticket numbers to the ones we purchased as well, meaning that someone explicitly reissued our tickets to a destination different to the ones we paid for and said nothing.

I am shocked and appalled. We would’ve turned up at the airport and been stranded in Muscat! Now we have to scramble about on a phone line trying to plead for a refund because online cancellations aren’t “allowed” (despite the fact they’ve already cancelled half of our flight without telling us). Last minute flights on another airline are likely going to cost an additional £1000 too. Absolutely appalling.

Update: so none of the customer service phone numbers listed on the Oman Air website work. I was able to find a working number from Heathrow.com. The customer service agent confirmed that the flight had been cancelled and that they’d “call me back” to reissue tickets with “another airline via Doha”. They have not called me back. They have not responded to 8 emails sent to their web refund address (which says you should receive a reply in 5 days- it’s now been 2 weeks and no reply). Another email sent to the Oman Air CEO received no response and messages sent on social media have also not been responded to. My advice is 1) don’t buy tickets from these people because they WILL completely ignore you if things go wrong and 2) pay by credit card because it’s the only way you’ll ever see your money back.

Further update: 2 weeks later I woke up at 7am to a missed call from an Omani number. Call backs cost £4 PER MINUTE so I call back the number listed on the Heathrow website. I wait on hold 15 minutes to get through to someone and that ultimately leads to a dead line. I call again and spend 20 minutes on hold and I’m told I can’t have the direct number to call them back in Oman. I also can’t have the email address to contact the correct people at the correct department… she tells me she will “email them again and tell them it’s urgent”. In short you HAVE to answer the phone when they call you whenever that might be, who knows?! Unbelievable… absolutely unbelievable stuff! They still refuse to put anything in writing and I’ve not had a single reply from anyone (including an entire catalog of execs)
