Despite being a Citibank India customer for several years, all my credit cards were blocked by the bank post the operations were transferred to Axis Bank India and their customer support team (now Axis Bank) had no idea.

Earlier, i had requested them to close one of the Citibank cards which i had not been using since last one year. There was no outstanding. But even then, they billed the annual charges to me and shared my details which the recovery staff and that is just for Rs 590.
Both Citibank and Axis Bank cards were blocked stating that i had defaulted in the payment.

I was a customer of Citibank for the past approx 15 years. I have been very loyal and adhering to the rules. Despite paying, my credit card was blocked. It was pretty embarrassing.
My efforts to connect with the bank and even tweet did not help
