Your human on line chat is woefully lacking any understanding of the written English and the customers problem i.e. I could not make any payments either online or via the mobile banking App all they do is pass the problem on to somebody else who kept asking the same question without reading the previous text. After getting fed up of this, I decided to telephone the bank. When I telephoned and requested to make a complaint I was put straight through to a native English speaking person however they could not deal with my banking problem but did raise a complaint as requested. I could go on and on about the staff having a lack of understanding that I could not make any payments and still can't.
Great staff and speedy resolution to my query

Staff very attentive, and try to resolve your query there and then, if not, will arrange to make an appointment with one of their consultants asap

Every member of staff at Nationwide Streatham has always been, welcoming, extremely helpful, and very supportive when I informed them of the loss of my son. I cannot fault Nationwide when I have always received a first class service over many years.

I have raised a complaint and called to get an update. The customer service advisor is more like a gatekeeper, if you ask to get put through to speak to the complaints handler, they will simply tell you to wait until they contact you- which is usually a letter. In the end the customer service advisor basically said there is nothing I can do for you. Bye and hung up. Don’t expect any help or support if you have a problem or complaint. The service is substandard.
very quick and everyone was extremely helpful

In the last few days Nationwide's reviews on Trust Pilot have gone up from 1,9 to 2,3 based on nearly 9000 reviews. In its own right this looks very suspicious.
My recent experiences with Nationwide this year and last has been awful. They have blocked my access to my ISA and then tried to tell me they had not. but giving me £25.00 for the inconvenience, they refused to allow a payment from my flex account to pay my monthly credit card bill, demanded at the cashiers counter to know what my annual income was and the manager at Ferndown threatened me saying I need to be careful where I go.
After all this they have said that they feel threatened by me, I have never threatened anyone there in any way and they refuse to listen to my complaints. They are bullies who seem to take a perverse pleasure in making what should be simple transactions difficult.
After all this they have written to me saying I am threatening them.
Their service is beyond poor and and much worse than any of the high street banks who they claim to be different to
If you log a review all they do is the same generic reply about if you want to make a complaint well I have made many complaints and they just ignore them and deny everything
Cant recommend Nationwide enough . Excellent customer service and very friendly and courteous staff . so glad I switched , they put all the other banks and building society to shame. They could all learn alit from Nationwide.
