No communication

So far a similar experience to others: not answering my phone calls or emails (February & May). At least inability to pay online means I've not lost any money. I opted to collect and will update this if On the Grind ever get in touch.

Do not use this company!

I ordered coffee beans from On the Grind several weeks ago. The pricing on their website was odd - it did not adjust appropriately to the quantity input and I was slightly concerned. Also, repeated attempts to pay using my credit card failed and I had to pay by PayPal. I did receive an email acknowledging my order and then ... nothing! No notification of despatch and no coffee. Repeated attempts to contact them via email and voicemails (the mobile number was never answered) produced absolutely no result and my only recourse was to seek a refund from PayPal.

Have they gone bust?

Ordered 3 coffees 2+ weeks ago and they have vanished with my money.

Today I have disputed the payment with my credit card provider.

It's the complete lack of comms that is most concerning. I ordered on 29th Nov and the order confirmation stated - Royal Mail 2nd Class 3-5 Business Days. Besides that one email, I have received nothing from them to suggest if/when my items might arrive.

Not a single response to any of my enquiries, of which the latter 2 explained I would dispute the payment if I didn't hear back from them by the end of the week. But still not a peep.

Edit - Obviously, I did try calling too, but it just rings out to voicemail

I can only assume they are no longer trading.

I paid for express service - Received No Coffee

I ordered green coffee to fulfill customer orders. I paid for 1-2 business day delivery and a week later nothing. I ended up having to order through another supplier which arrived the next day! No response to emails, phone messages or their online contact system. I would have completely understood and have been very supportive of a business having delays if they had simply responded to one of my messages . I have raised a case via PayPal to receive a refund.

Avoid this company

My experience has been exactly like the other reviewer, however, this time, it has been more than a month since my order and still no coffee. I have contacted On the Grind several times and no replies. I have now raised a dispute with my credit card company to get my money back. Like the other reviewer I liked the coffee and did put up with the inconvenience of delayed deliveries/hassle but no more. I have been a customer for several years but no more. My advice is to avoid this company as their customer service has become non existant. They are quick to take your money and that is just it. I had great hopes with this small local business and wanted to support them but enough is enough.

Great coffee. Appalling speed

First you need to know this place makes the best coffee I have ever have. It is EPIC. The second thing you need to know is that getting them to actually give you the coffee is almost impossible. I've been buying coffee from them for more than two years now. When they first started, they were amazing – quick delivery, good prices, great coffee. About 9 months ago, that changed. Instead of delivery in a few days, it took a week. But that's fine. I can live with that. Then during the pandemic, delivery became two weeks. Again, no drama. We were all dealing with stuff. Now though? It's ludicrous. The last three times I've ordered from them they simply didn't send the coffee at all. I'd wait two weeks, then send an email asking what was happening. They'd email me back saying "Oh didn't you get it? We sent the coffee ages ago! Really sorry." Then I'd get a dispatch notice and a week later the coffee would appear. This last time when I ordered, I decided to see what would happen if I didn't chase. That was 3 weeks ago. No coffee. No messages. Nada. I honestly think they'd just keep the money and never send it if you don't stay on them. So I shouldn't buy from them, right? I mean, this is ridiculous. But the coffee, you guys. It's SO GOOD. I endure this torture because of the coffee. But don't buy from them thinking it will be fast or efficient. Oh no. Fast and efficient are over. Be ready to pursue and chase and harass. But it might – it just MIGHT – be worth the effort.
