I didn't really deal with customer service - my order was placed on-line, and proceeded automatically. Communication was good throughout. Shipping to the US was quite slow, but I blame the COVID-19 related upheavals for that. All the delays were within the postal services and customs.

Feeling welcomed as a family to spend time in your wonderful shop in Melbourne,even the reptiles are a great hit. The best place to buy opals in Melbourne! They have lovely staff that show you around the store and explain the process and quality of opals. Would recommend to anyone who is thinking about purchasing these beautiful stones.

The staff at Lightning Ridge Opal Mines was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. There was absolutely no sales pressure. The entire staff was more interested in making sure that I learned about opals and much less concerned about how much money I spent. The next time I am in Melbourne, I will definitely stop by for a visit!

From the moment we stepped down into the showroom at Lightning Ridge we were greeted by friendly and approachable staff. There were items to suit all pockets and with no pressure to buy. We decided on a black opal ring upon Valentines Day and It is also my wife’s birth stone. The ring had been previously cut and mounted by the young man that served us.( So special for us to meet the person who had made it) Our first time to Australia and one of the highlights of our holiday. Great experience.

The staff in the shop are friendly, informative and will let you take your time browsing and purchasing.
I ended up with a semi-black opal and diamond set necklace and a loose black opal to have someone set myself, both absolutely beautiful!

The sales person took time to explain everything to me and then left me alone to check out all the stones; they were always happy to answer any question that i had and "entertained" my partner while i shopped so that it was a pleasant experience for us both. They never hovered which was appreciated. They also have a large selection of both set and loose stones and provided me with ideas (and photos) on how to get my stone set. I felt very comfortable in the store and would definitely shop there again ... either in person (if I ever get to visit again) or online!
