Placement requested and published, but payment was never completed

We had a very disappointing experience dealing with Opentechworld.org and their representative regarding a paid link placement.

A placement was specifically requested, including the target URL and anchor text, with an agreement to pay once the link was live. We published the requested placement and sent the invoice. After publication, we were told the invoice had been sent to the Finance Department and that payment would be received soon.

Despite repeated follow-ups over the following weeks and months, payment was never completed. We sent numerous reminders and final notices, while keeping the placement live and giving plenty of opportunity to resolve the outstanding invoice.

After months of chasing, the final response we received was simply: “I am no longer interested.”

Unfortunately, the work had already been completed and the requested placement had already been provided. Losing interest months later does not resolve an outstanding payment for work that was specifically ordered and delivered.

Based on our genuine business experience, I would be very cautious about providing services on payment-after-delivery terms. Our experience involved significant time spent chasing an invoice for completed work with no successful resolution.
