Optibike Argon - amazing value and performance
Perfect transition from years on a custom Dean road bike. The Argon did not disappoint. I have been averaging 80 miles per charge here on the MS Gulf Coast and I’m currently riding on the Florida and Alabama coastline so happy with the performance as the ambient temps increase. Typically riding along the coast with a traditional chain driven bike requires daily maintenance to keep the sand off the drivetrain. With the Argon’s belt drive all I need to do is blow the bike off and I’m ready for my next ride. I love it. I feel at the current price point this is the best value in the E bike market.

Everyone was extremely helpful in my efforts to refurbish an older R8 purchased by my son years ago.

Nothing compares to an Optibike
I have owned a number of high end e-bikes, I love them. But after I bought my Optibike R15C nothing else compared. I then purchased 2 Optibike Argon’s for my wife and I for riding on the road and have since sold all my other bikes because the others really didn’t have the quality and riding experience of an Optibike.
I love my R 22 everest
I love my R 22 everest, grear components and powerful motor and battery.
Great bikes and service!
I purchased a part for an 8 year old bike and it was delivered on time and now the bike runs great . I have purchased 4 bicycles from Optibike for my wife and I and they have more than exceeded my expectations . The newer road bikes are lightweight and nicely designed. I have always had great service from Optibikes, on the few times that it was needed.!
Three things
Three things: 1) well engineered product, 2) Great people, 3) Great service.
OptiBike Review
Many years ago my sister blessed me with my first Optibike it was used a 2009 to be exact. It arrived in around two weeks from purchasing date. When it did I was unfamiliar with it and broke the chin almost instantly. I call in and they sent me not only the chain but also the sprocket set for free however he did tell me to take it a little easier on it and i did. It served me well for many years riding it from full charge which at the time was about 50 miles. I have recently ordered another one that battery is over 300 miles. I have done my research and in my studies I have not found another EBike that goes as far or preforms anything close to it. Costumer service is always very polite and informative. The owner that I have talked to many times he is actually getting ready to send me his personal bike right now with the 300+ battery on it to save me alittle money and a respect that very much and it is very rare especially this day in time. God Bless everyone there they are doing a great job and I personally would not change a thing. LoVe Always, Brother Bruce Dunkin

Great Bike! The absolute best of the R series.
Top-of-line, high-powered e-bike; with room for even greater innovation
Pro's: Powerful and fast, sturdy and well-built (in USA) with high quality parts; good range and great hill-climbing ability; friendly, excellent and responsive service and back-up (Thanks, Jim!); 8 years and still running strong!
Con's: can be unstable due to slightly high center of gravity (R15, especially if using range-extending 2nd battery off seat stem tube); gearing seems too low on my model, for my use and comfort, which makes it difficult to pedal (and work-out) when using power assist at faster speeds (a higher/wider gear range would add more versatility).
Best electric bike ever
Best electric bike ever, love it , it’s 1st a real mountain bike, with proper suspension, it looks spaceage , reliable, yet it’s also the fastest and most powerful bike , that looks like a bike.
The Optibike is a good bike
The Optibike is a good bike. Still going strong after many years of service.
It's a no brainer, but now I fully understand the battery does not last long in hilly areas. Best on the flat. So long trips going uphill ultimately rely on my legs until the battery can be recharged. The bike is relatively heavy. A second battery is very expensive.
I had troubles with deflation of my tires. Slow leaks. Best I can tell, sharp edges left on the inside of the rim were the culprits. Heavy duty tubes and a file seem to have solved the problem.
I didn't originally know the battery power assist is negated as soon as you start pushing hard with your legs. So if you expect a battery assist in a hard push for speed......forget about it. This old man needs all the help he can get!
Unparalleled service!
Close, but not quite
Bought a used (previously returned) Optibike. It arrived at my house expertly packaged, but lacking sufficient assembly and instruction manuals to make things easy. Over time, I learned how the bike worked (Rohloff hub and proprietary motor/battery), but it never seemed “quite right” to me. Eventually, after quite a few tests and collaboration with Jim Turner (owner: Optibike), I decided to return it.
I remain optimistic and enthusiastic about Optibike, yet disappointed this one didn’t work well for me.
