Great course if you are looking to improve your understanding of blood work and interpretation. Which is a great addition for your practice.

Optimal DX not only provides a ton of very helpful, science-backed free content but also a great course on Functional Blood Chemistry Analysis (FBCA).
In this course, I really learned the ins and outs of analyzing blood test results from a functional medicine perspective. The focus is not on Standard Reference Ranges but rather on Optimal Ranges to identify a trend toward dysfunction early and prevent disease from happening rather than simply treating it once it has happened.
I am not a medical practitioner but a health coach, so I don't treat, cure, or diagnose disease. Instead, I help my clients achieve better health through lifestyle modification, nutrition and personalized training programs as well as targeted supplementation to give their bodies what they need and take away what is harming them so they can reregulate themselves.
By doing this course, I now have the ability to gain valuable insights into potential dysfunctions and areas to target for improvement without having to run functional medicine lab tests, which are often not covered by insurance and therefore provide a higher barrier of entry for clients.
The lessons of this course are really in-depth, covering both the physiology of each bodily system and the biomarkers you can find on a comprehensive blood panel and what a high/low or trending high/low value for each of those biomarkers means. Additionally, you get insights into the interplay of different biomarkers and learn to identify patterns of dysfunction.
In short, highly recommended.

What made the the functional blood chemistry analysis certificate such a great experience was the detailed broken down of each body system and the blood makers that represent each, paired with enough biochemistry to tie it all together. Great customer service and support when needed and I loved the feedback I got from real-life case study. Would definitely recommend if you wanted to learn comprehensive blood chem analysis in a systematic fashion.

I have just completed the course and received the long-awaited certificate. I realised that I had no serious knowledge of the complex interpretation of laboratory tests, despite many years of practice and cooperation with medical laboratories. The course slowly but surely systematises laboratory diagnostics knowledge from a functional medicine perspective.
The ODX platform deserves special mention, as it is a unique tool for the assessment of therapy efficacy for both the physician and the patient. A very comprehensive, well-structured course on the art and science of blood test interpretation from a functional medicine view. The modules cover different body systems while establishing connections between imbalances in different systems and their possible underlying causes. The lectures have attached transcriptions, but I loved listening to Dr. Weatherby's recordings.

I thoroughly enjoyed Academy. I found the lectures to be well put together and not too long. I appreciated having the slides as well as transcripts so that I can go back to review as needed in the future. I also appreciated access to the Optimal DX program. I was very impressed with the results of plugging in the labs. The results are easy to see, will be very useful to share with patients, included some nice recommendations that I may or may not have considered otherwise. I will definitely want to add Optimal DX software to my practice as well.

I have just finished my training and am now certified. I used Dr Weatherby's textbooks in university. Therefore, if I was going to do a course on blood test analysis, this is where I was going to go. I put off paying for the training for a while, but eventually bought the software and am so happy I did. Then I decided to take the plunge and do the course and certification. While I need to revise my notes from time to time, I can now look and at a blood test and see some of the patterns. Most conventional doctors have no idea about patterns, but this is the area I find most invaluable. If you are like me and you want to do the course, but keep on putting it off, I highly recommend taking the plunge. It will stand you in good stead and you will have a major tool to prevent serious disease in your patients (as well as you and your loved ones).

The software is amazing for analysing bloods. It's so in-depth. The course is full of information. I prefer the practical side of it more so than the detailed bio chemistry but it is designed for doctors so I appreciate that.

I have taken several courses relating with functional medicine. I have gone through a few certification programs as well. This course was probably the most informative for all things blood work! There are several reasons why you should consider this course: it is self-paced, affordable for what you get, accessible, empowering and informative in many ways more than just "here is a marker, next marker please".... There is a lot of emphasis on mechanisms of action. Because it is so rich in content, I know I will be going back to the info as I get more and more clinical experience. The tools are great as well!

I was one of the first users of the Optimal DX program and I and highly recommend it to all practitioners of functional medicine.
