Avoid this person

Seven weeks ago she told me it was a three hour formatting job. My motion is written (and has a timeline), I just needed it formatted so the court would accept it. She took my money, and that was pretty much the end of the positive communication. Since then she's spent far more time texting me about all the excuses she has for not doing my job than actually doing my job...her funniest excuse was that she has to take calls taking new business. So she's out there doing to other people what she did to me, just taking their money.

Her assistant actually did the formatting (I had to heavily re-edit because there was a lot of mistakes and typos), she just needed to file now. That was weeks ago. All she needed to do was file it with the court. For some reason she can't find that five minutes...too busy taking new business.

So I got angry with her. Not crazy...the seven week delay with no communication has put me in a pretty bad spot. She just told me to find a new provider. Yes, I did use some spicy language with her, and she's using that as the excuse to not take the five minutes to finish what she said was a three hour job seven weeks ago.

People use a paralegal because they're navigating a difficult situation and probably cannot afford a lawyer. You'd hope people charging $150 an hour to help you with such a thing could be trusted. This person cannot be. This person should not be allowed to do what she does.
