I first looked at an OS map some 60 years ago and have been a fan ever since. Haven't needed them for a few years but a trip to the Lakes and onto the fells make them a necessity. I'm impressed with the waterproof maps I ordered and with the speedy delivery. The ability to download them onto my phone is likely to be very useful.

Paper map brilliant for cyclists. Free download means easy use when cycling and the joy of pinning your paper map on the wall for getting the overview and for route planning.

Delivery was good. Map excellent
The map was as good as ever - we have moved to a country location and I want to be able to locate all footpaths,
Bridleways etc etc

There is no doubt that the finished product is the bees-knees! I am planning a walk on one of Scotland’s great trails but would have required 4 regular Explorer map sheets had I not gone the custom map route, which allows me to use 2 regular Explorer and three A3 custom at higher scale than normal, at less cost. So what is not to like? Why 4 star not 5?
the order system is clunky I was on a mobile and the map location doesn’t zoom at the time of choice. I used my os map app to try and work out what I was seeing (I had to get as much of a footpath as I could but fiddly at the edge to ensure no omission) , swap back to the website to roughly choose and then then at review I could get a better handle, as at review I could screen zoom the page, before re-editing.
In the basket, each map I produced was only labelled “custom map” but at check out my custom name for the map is given, so why can’t this be shown in basket as the basket gets confusing with multiple custom maps.
The A3 maps come with instructions on the back of how to use a map, while I can see that a school group might want this I don’t and wish it wasn’t there but there’s no option not to print it, which seems a waste of ink.
The map choice must be square to the grid lines, l can see why with normal size but custom A3 has no border with grid numbers and the product would be improved if there was an ability to rotate the map so it may be as if cutting a piece of paper that is A3 from a map in any orientation.
At dispatch I received multiple emails, one for each map (again without custom name) yet they all came in one envelope.
My issues are very specific probably due to the edge of map needing precision in choosing as well as centre (my previous custom maps have been centred on a particular location and edge wasn’t important) and that I ordered multiple different custom at the same time. but the system was clunky.

The only credible maps if youwant to explore. However I found the website difficult to use.

The map was delivered promptly and is excellent quality as befitting products from OS Maps. It is interesting, a lovely historical reprint and will be a Christmas gift for someone taking an interest in geology.

When I needed help to reset my OSmaps app the support I was given was excellent. I give them full marks.

Not an easy website to use. Maps are only described as 'Landranger' and something else - stating whether they are the 1:50,000 or 1:25:000 series would help. Also it would be much easier if you could find the map sheet you wanted from a map of the UK with all the sheet numbers superimposed. They used to print these on the back of the maps themselves - now they don't even do that!

The map arrived in good time and has been really useful on our travels.
