Stupid stupid stupid. It kept asking to leave a review, even after I left it, it still kept popping up. IT is just crazy. It does not work. I was not able to edit the transcript even though it literally had a feature to edit. Bunch of idiots create this complete waste of time. Full of bugs. Crazy

I am very disappointed by Otter ai. I signed up for the free trial, which of course entails adding a payment method. I believed this meant I could record a meeting fully, which wasnt the case. Not that it mattered, because the brief transcript it managed was incomprehensible, as was the audio recording. Its much better using a voice recorder on a mobile phone.

It is a scam , it worked 3 days then nothing. Impossible to get the customer service. AVOID

Bad software...I removed the integration to outlook but otter keeps showing up. They have a mobile app and web settings and you have to change both? Who architects software like that? Single source of truth not configuration setting in multiple places. Then they remove the Delete Account function! Terrible company. Software works, but constantly run out of minutes.

Been a long time user, but the service has only gotten worse, more unreliable and more expensive. Now, if it can't upload in the short term, will just delete your recording. Burned twice now. Avoid.

In May of 2025 i purchased the business option for approx $250 for a year. In the last few weeks my account was changed back to basic. I have sent multiple requests to Otter for several days and still no resolution.

Otter can't even differentiate a two person conversation where one person is a male and the other is a female. It jumbles it all together as one speaker. World's leading ai assistant? More like world's worst.

The online version does not work as advertised, even for the most basic functionality. I attempted to insall on my pc but it's only a mac product. Honestly, MAC. I gave up my mac when I become an adult. The customer service is non-existant.

Otter.ai is a nightmare. Cancelling is confusing and feels like a trap. I followed their steps and was still charged. Customer support? Non-existent. No replies, no help.

I demand a **full refund immediately** and confirmation my account is closed. All the negative reviews are true—this company does not respect customers.

Stay away unless you want charges and zero support. There are far better alternatives out there.

Paid for the full service got nothing.

I need Otter ai to import recordings and make transcripts. I have made 2 monthly payments and have not been able to export a single full transcript. The site seems to think I'm still on the free version, meanwhile they still took the second payment!

Customer service has been unable to help. They offered me a credit of a month but since they can't resolve the problem that doesn't help me as I will now need to go to another provider.

This particular recording is time sensitive and I have not been able to do a crucial thing I need to waiting for them to mess about their end, which did absolutely nothing.

Do not recommend. The customer service is clueless.

Edited to add they stopped my access and said they would refund me but they've only refunded half of what I paid!

Otter.ai is a scam. Fraudulent billing charge after charge for different amounts 10 and 12 times the subscription amount. Don’t use this service. Customer is completely unresponsive and never offers an actual solution. Please save yourself the aggravation use another service.

Don't get caught out with there automatic subscription renewal !!! I got my reminder of a subscription I didn't know I had in my junk mail and was $149.99 out of pocket for an app I wasn't already using due to its poor quality ! When I disputed the amount taken out of my account they refused to refund my money. Terrible app with dodgy way of keeping customers !! Be warned

This crap company doesn't deserve even one star, more like negative 50. They are intrusive, and they use deceptive and dishonest tactics to bill for services that people DON'T sign up for and then refuse to return the funds. I purchased one seat for their service and they started adding more of them, billing me $100 a month for three months when I only was supposed to pay $99 for a year. Then they claimed they don't refund money because it's in their TOS. Well, this company is a POS. I've canceled and also have reported them to the California Department of Justice for deceptive and illegal business practices. They're already the focus of a class action lawsuit. I'll be making more reports to consumer protection organizations and letting colleagues know not to use this garbage.

Creepy service which does all it can to remain active even when you turn it off.

There is no customer support if a problem comes up. I have been gaslit by a bot called Allan for a week, with nightly emails which arrive at around 6.15pm each evening asking me to reply to it, apparently unaware of my increasingly desperate replies during the day. I am now locked out if an a count for which I paid $99.99 two weeks ago, after reaching my account limit by trying to follow Allan’s advice. This is one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a professional service.

Today I had the pleasure of working with Junior Torres from the OtterAI customer service team, and he completely restored my faith in what customer support can be. Not only did he resolve my issue the very same day, but he did so with a level of warmth and professionalism that went far beyond what I expected from a tech company. I was truly impressed by the experience and will continue to use OtterAI with confidence and recommend it to friends without hesitation.

Too many issues, very hard to contact support, my workmate's notetaker was entering all the meetings and I had no control over this, I couldn't access an invoice for my payment, support was hard to contact, no identification of speakers, the list was long.

Otter.ai is not great but the worst thing about it is how difficult it is to remove from your google calendar - I have deleted the account, unlinked it from google account but login/sign up option appears in all my meeting invites - given that I jsut wanted to try it it's turned into something super stressful

I've been using it for a few years and had no problems, but I've just been into billing and they have taken a yearly payment and charged me for 3 seats and I can't get a refund. I've cancelled, but it runs until August next year and i can't do anything about it. I've sent them a message but no reply, just a message to say no refunds. I never authorised 3 seats. It's gone up from $78 to $299.98 #CRIMINALS case number #549490.
