Company ignores EU consumer law and refuses full refund

I ordered a product from OutdoorHaven.nl and exercised my legal right of withdrawal immediately after receiving it. The item was shipped from France, yet the company insists that returns must be sent to China at my own expense. This requirement was never mentioned during checkout, which violates EU consumer law (the seller is obliged to clearly inform customers about return costs and destination beforehand).

Under EU rules, when this information is missing, the seller must provide an EU return address or reimburse all return costs. Despite multiple written requests, including a formal notice and even a registered letter, the company refuses to comply.

Instead, they repeatedly offer only a 50 percent refund, while a full refund is legally required. All replies come from an AI chatbot giving standard, irrelevant responses. No human contact. No meaningful solution.

I have filed complaints with the consumer authorities.

This company does not follow EU consumer protection rules and I advise others to be very cautious.

Absolutely horrible company

Absolutely horrible company. They charge your card, send you mails telling you the order is on the way with tracking links that don’t work, and then they have the unmitigated gall to write you mails asking you to review the product. Basically this company is a scam. Buying anything from them is equal to setting your money on fire. Never, ever buy anything from this company unless you like throwing money out the window.

I cannot recommend this webshop

I ordered bicycle bags from OutdoorHavenDK (order #5991). The company charged my credit card before the items were shipped, which is against consumer rules.

I contacted them three times by email to cancel the order and request a refund, but only received automated “robot” replies that ignored my actual questions. The product never arrived.

I have now reported the company to the Danish Consumer Ombudsman and asked my bank for a chargeback.

Very poor customer service and misleading marketing – I cannot recommend this webshop.

Avoid this retailer

Avoid this retailer. The website is not transparent about where business is done—particularly returns. There is a small window of time in which to make returns and they spend several of them delaying the process (i.e., not responding outright to requests for return address and processing information). Finally receiving the requested information after three days of back-and-forth, I discovered that the Dutch address I found on the website has nothing to do with returning merchandise - I was asked to send the item ordered, at my expense, to China. I received no advice about carriers, cost, typical processing time, refund, etc. I will never purchase from this retailer again.

This is a Chinese company…my product was very good

I must say,this is a Chinese company and it should be mentioned on their website! I told them that. Answers come quickly and professional writing too.
I was very Lucky with the product (a stormresisitant umbrella- good quality) ,with a resonable price 34 €...it took 2 weeks to deliver (fair). So I had no complaints about that...but a company is obliged to reveal his identity and be transparant!

Bestil ikke her fra.

Kan på ingen måde anbefale andre og bestille fra denne hjemme side af.
Bestilte d 15-12-24 det der skulle være en kraftig lommelygte med stærkt genopladeligt batteri og lang holdbarhed fra deres danske hjemme side. 18 dage og en del forsinket senere modtog jeg pakken. (2-1-25) vente tiden kunne jeg ha overlevet hvis jeg så bare fik det jeg bestilte. I kassen fra Kina lå der en lomme lygte der ganske vist ligner den på hjemmesiden men der var intet batteri i selve lygten. Og der ved kan den ikke bruges. Har skrevet flere gange og send billeder til deres kundeservice men intet svar fået retur. Nul stjerner her fra til dette hollandske fusker firma.

Can in no way recommend to others and order from this website. Ordered on 15-12-24 what was supposed to be a powerful flashlight with strong rechargeable battery and long durability from their Danish home page. 18 days and some delays later I received the package. (2-1-25) wait the time I could have survived if I just got what I ordered. In the box from China was a flashlight that certainly looks like the one on the website, but there was no battery in the flashlight itself. And it knows it cannot be used. I have written several times and sent pictures to their customer service but have received no reply. Zero stars from here for this fake Dutch company.

Do not order with this company unless…

Do not order with this company unless you want to be stuck with an overpriced item of poor quality that arrives late and you can only return it by paying over €60 for shipping it to China. Oh yeah, as said here before from other unhappy customers, you get 25% off your purchase as a “compensation”. It was my fault of course as I usually do my research before ordering form unknown websites. Their website looks like a legit european online outdoor shop. But it’s another scam.

AVOID THIS COMPANY

AVOID THIS COMPANY - my experience dates from beginning Dec 2024
1) Retour policy is a serious drawback. Outdoorhaven NL informs you though that your item may have to be sent back to Asia, i.e. China. So you are warned. The effect is that it cost me €75 to return a Norway fleece jacket, from Belgium to China, that cost me €59.99. As compensation, Outdoorhaven NL offered to reimburse 20% (€12.00) and I could keep the item.
2) I doubt that the jacket is a genuine Norway item. It looks and feels like a cheap & bad copy of the real thing I once had before.

Really bad experience

Really bad experience. Delivery took over two weeks. Bad quality of product (car organizer) while the selling price was much higher then competitors (€50,-) so we expected a good product.

Received automatic replies from Zoë that did not reply on my actual question.

Return sending has to be paid by buyer and needs to go to China. Which costs more then the actual purchase. It took 4 emails to get the address for the return sending and they offered 20% discount if I would not send the item back.

Please don’t order here. It’s a scam!! And energy drain.

Worst experience ever

Not only that, I had to wait for the shipment for two weeks, but the shipment did not arrive as shown in the photo, the size does not match! Paid triple what it was worth! If possible, do not buy from this store.
