For over 30 years Out of the Ark Music has been writing and releasing songs, nativities and musicals for primary school children. In 2021 we were proud to launch our subscription platform Sparkyard.
Good songs leave a lasting impression and contain huge potential to make a difference to our lives. The importance of music and the arts cannot be emphasised enough and, though often overlooked, they are a vital part of our children's education.
What began with only a tiny desk under the stairs, has grown over 30 years to become a thriving business, which now supplies over 18,000 primary schools and prep schools (not to mention nurseries, churches, theatre groups, etc!) across the UK and countless others around the world. With publishing offices and a warehouse in Middlesex, a recording studio in Sussex, 'Out Of The Ark' is reaching out to the corners of the earth with good, positive songs, that everyone will enjoy.
After 30 years and over 1,000 songs in the Out of the Ark Music catalogue, Mark and Helen are still enthusiastic about writing and are keen to develop the potential that music has in the context of education and beyond. They receive hundreds of wonderful emails and phone calls each year from those who have caught the vision and share the enthusiasm.

I had a large class that was very…
I had a large class that was very difficult to manage.. I was warned about them. .. putting together the show was a delight .. it showcased so many talents in the room in some ways.. the kids had their own ideas ( obvs some we didn’t run with!) in the end it was spectacular! If you as a teacher are anyway musical, then recommended!

I recommend Out of the Ark for EVERYONE no matter your experience.
We use Out of the Ark every year for our Junior School productions. The scripts are so accessible for the age group we're working with (9-10 year olds) and everybody (students and teachers) just falls in love with the songs. Not to mention the excellent resources that come with each show. I'd highly recommend an Out of the Ark production to anyone working with primary aged children, especially if you are inexperienced with the performing arts. They are certainly value for money.

The music is so wonderful
The music is so wonderful. Our program just purchased all the things to put on Peter Pan this school year. We also put on You Are Special last year and it was such a huge hit both with students and parents. I also appreciated that Out of the Ark allowed me to create a script that worked for our program and still use their music. The music and slides to the music were so high quality and perfect for the students to learn from.

School Musicals
We have used Out of the Ark for a few of our school musicals over the years. The musicals are always fun and exciting. The songs are varied and easy to teach. Everything is all there in one bundle to pick up and run with with so it makes it easy for the teachers in charge. We love that new musicals keep coming out too, it keeps things modern and fresh.
