Harrassment

I would prefer to give no stars - and I am not even a customer!
A few weeks ago I started getting phone calls and messages from OVO for a man I have never heard of.
I duly called the number given and spoke to a woman who seemed incapable of understanding what I was saying, although she agreed that my name and address were not registered as a customer.
I was promised that my number would not be contacted again. However… having received many more calls and messages, and after several emails from me to their complaints department (no reply received) I am at my wits end!
I have attempted to block them from contacting my phone, but had another message today for “Mr N” ( I do have his surname).
I refuse to call them again and pay for another long and wasted call.

CON-ARTISTS

They owe me with thousands of pounds and they are not only refuse to pay it back, but bribed some corrupt energy ombudsmen too, so my money very likely ended up with them… I do not even know how to get my money back now…! They all should be in jail!!!

If you value your sanity DON'T USE OVO

Please don't put yourself through the stress of signing up with Ovo. Dont even bother calling to enquire about signing up. I did and I have lived to regret it. I made a simple phonecall to ask what the costs would be if I signed up with ovo, and then very clearly said I was going to discuss it with my current gas and energy supplier. Next thing I know Ovo have requested to move my account over without my permission, and started sending me welcome letters and bills. I have called 13 times to try and resolve this issue, I have written countless emails. I have had numerous WhatsApp conversations with them, and it's got me nowhere. Four months later and I am now receiving bills from both my current energy provider AND Ovo (unsure how that's even possible) as well as debt collector letters for the bills I refuse to pay to Ovo. It's verging on harassment. If I can help anyone at all, please, please find a different supplier. Ovo will give you nothing but a headache.

Rude customer service agent. Wouldn’t listen to what I wanted to say, over talked me and raised their voice then cut me off. Disgusting behaviour.

Following problems with Ovo they had…

Following problems with Ovo they had promised to waive my cancellation fees which was included in a reply from them.
I am definitely changing suppliers of energy and had asked for the waiver in the form of an email which was agreed to. Not only have they taken this reply down but I have not received the promised email.
All I’ve had from Ovo is harassment and barefaced lies, avoid them.

Avoid like the plague

I would give zero stars if there was the option. This company is an absolute joke, I have been to the ombudsman who has upheld my complaint and they still haven’t sorted it over a month later.

Following my recent very poor review I was contacted by a person called Eva from OVO Trustpilot team assuring me of a prompt investigation and reply to my complaints. I am still waiting for the prompt reply . Just about sums up OVO Customer Service

Not great! Sign up with another provider

Had a problem with the boiler at my parent’s house. It’s a combi boiler and when the hot water came on so did the heating even though it wasn’t requested. The tado app reported the heating as off but the radiators were boiling.
Engineer came out and diagnosed the problem as the wireless receiver to the tado set up. Even though the whole system including the smart thermostat was installed by SSE and now Ovo took over the contract they claim any smart thermostat or receiver is not covered by the insurance and the whole job will have to be paid for by a private engineer! They won’t even arrange the repair!
They happily take the money every month from my elderly parents but when it comes down to repairing the system they won’t do it!
Will be moving both the boiler cover and the supply away from Ovo at the earliest opportunity. What kind of company doesn’t cover smart thermostats when the majority of households have them now?

I am getting fed up now my online account as been online for nearly 18 months no one tells you anything when you phone you told us back on end 2023 nothing done then March still nothing have they defaulted my contract

OVO you have not done what you promised…

OVO you have not done what you promised when you said you would make sure that I received a bank giro slip withy bills as I used to. You have only sent a bill without it .I was told it would not happen again and you even apologised. But here we are with another bill minus the bank giro slip. I would like a reply to this thanks.

Customer service is a horrible…

Customer service is a horrible experience. I recently purchased my first home and therefore forced to interact with the current energy supplier OVO. EVERY TIME I call, it is always a horrible experience. I have to call at least 3 times before I get someone with any sort of critical thinking skills. I am currently trying to find a new supplier, due to my experience with dealing with OVO. What is more annoying is when I finally speak to someone who can help, they dare to ask for a Trustpilot review even though I expressed constant dissatisfaction when speaking to the other people prior. There is no interest in learning and improving the service.

No stars. They've no idea about customer service or getting their records correct

I phoned in my final energy readings. After 40 mins on the phone I still wasnt assured that they's understood the situation. Two days later I received two final bills for different amounts. Both of these bills said I had 14 days to pay. I paid the higher one. Two days later I got a very rude text saying I owed them money and to contact them immediately. In the next few days I got endless phone calls from their collections dept alleging I owed them money. Despite constantly explaining everything they just didn't understand and said I still owed them. I then got a final call over a week after giving them the readings saying the account was closed. Appalling service.

AVOID THEM

AVOID THEM! It took me over a year and half with the ombudsman to resolve my solar energy. Never recieved a pennt. Customer service is beyond shocking - sometimes they thought it was a joke to give me an incorrect number. Worst company ever and far more expensive - now I have moved to Octopus Energy.

Zero rating, OVO is a incompetent corporation ..remote faulty dumb smart meter estimations inaccurate inflated bill demands i've tried to resolve these issues and i get passed to various departments to no joy, i'm being bullied into paying for energy i'm not using, and debt collection agencies harassing me it's getting stressful causing acute alarm and distress ....

Ovo support team is a shambles.

Ovo support team is a shambles.

I joined in October 2023, for whatever the reason was Ovo got my original gas meter wrong and predicted it to be far lower than it is. They also predicated I'm using around £900 of gas per month for a tiny 1 bedroom flat. I don't know where they are getting these estimations from, as they are absurd!

A dispute was raised between them and EDF, an agreement was made on what my starting meter reading should of been and I was no longer £4k in debt to them and my account was brought to credit in March.

Since then, I get a bill for £2,500 in April...1 month away!!! They never reverted the original gas meter to the agreed dispute between them and EDF.

I spoke to Matthew who seemed to be the only person who understood the problem, he assured me this will get fixed and raised a dispute.

It's been 3 weeks since I've desperately been waiting for a response and I've heard nothing related to the dispute.

I just got an email today confirming my direct debit will now go from £170 per month to £604!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I literally went in to a panic attack, I'm overwhelmed with pure anxiety, I literally don't know how I can continue living with bills like this.

I'm horrified with my experience, I feel like I'm being bullied into paying something crazy for something that's not even my fault. Ovo is forcing me to pay for energy I've not used and is thus making my life nothing but pure misery.

You won't believe just how stressful and horrible this experience is, I'm genuinely so concerned I now live every moment in a worrisome state. There's no peace of mind knowing this company will help, I'm being screwed over and no one is able to help me.

AVOID OVO ENERGY…

How can anybody accept to do business with Ovo Energy?

I regularly do an audit of my energy charges, but questioning Ovo on May 2 2024 between 3.45 & 5.00 pm was a total disaster.
1. Ovo took over 7 minutes to answer my first call.

Octopus Energy at a similar time answered well within tolerance.

2. I found it difficult to:
a. Understand the English pronunciation of the overseas based operators at Ovo.
b. It sounded as if there was a party taking place in the call centre.
I could hear many other agents laughing & talking.

My previous call to Octopus Energy was clear, no background laughing or talking of other operators.

As I found it difficult to understand what the operator was saying because of their English pronunciation, poor quality of the line, background speaking & merriment, I said I was going to hang up.

Having again waited for a new operator, when I got through she was unable to give me the unit price, saying that she did not have this information.
I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told that this was not possible.

Will Ovo Energy please understand that we, the energy consumers and others are not here to be taken as fools.
You must not believe that people will tolerate badly trained agents in your call centres.

A word of praise for those at Octopus Energy.
Every time I have phoned, your agents have been 100% in every way.
Your CEO/MD Greg, should give lessons to others and is to be praised for running so good a team.
I, and anyone else with any intelligence, must not tolerate companies who put profit above customer service.
It must also be noted that many elderly people find electronic communication both stressful & challenging.
It will be interesting to see if Ovo respond.
