Good

Good. From pov of staff. Reply to Nesta. 1. Completing an online safeguarding course is absolutely standard in childcare and teaching roles. 2. As is using templates for references. It does sound to me like you might not have very much experience in this sector?

Total amateurism and dishonesty

Dear Reader,

This is what happened to me after responding on their job add in May 2022. I was interviewed by Matt on two occasions. On the second one I got offered a minimum month-long role and I accepted it. Meanwhile, they also required of me to attend and pass an online test on safeguarding, to which I complied in spite of already having presented my QTS and a clean dbs.

After already having taken my referrers’ time on writing a recommendation letter on a paper and sending that scanned, at one point I also needed to take more time of my two referrers to fill their online
questionnaire, as a plain response on a message sent to their inbox was not enough.

As I had put more applications for other schools earlier, during the period of late May to late June I needed to turn these down.

After a month, as expected, I got reminded to arrive to Oxford in three days. When responding that I was happy to hear from them and pointing to the fact that their last message had not had a contract attached, which, according to their own words, one would need to sign before his arrival, they said that they would be back soon.

And soon they did get back, by saying that they were sorry for actually not inviting me to the already negotiated role.

Of course I then kindly asked for a reason, but Paul and Anne found it trivial to answer to that.

What were my chances to find another at least a month long summer job on 25 06?

Thank you Paul and Anne!

Oxford Spires is one of the best English language centres in England, that's for sure. Its schools in Oxford and Cambridge with very professional and super friendly teachers and administrators are just excellent! I would definitely recommend Oxford Spires to any English learners who want to considerably improve their language skills in a short time.
