Avoid Packaging Chimp – A Company That Won’t Own Up to Its Mistakes

I ordered two boxes of C6 manila envelopes from Packaging Chimp in July, as I always do, to ensure my shipments qualify as letters under Royal Mail’s pricing. However, due to personal circumstances, I had to pause my business for a while. When I resumed operations, I started noticing issues—customers were being charged extra postage, and some items were even returned to sender.

Upon investigating, I realized the envelopes I received were the wrong size—1.5 cm wider than standard C6, classifying them as large letters instead. The difference is barely noticeable at first glance, so it took some time to identify the issue. This was a mistake on their end, as I ordered C6, and they sent me something different.

Despite reaching out to Packaging Chimp and explaining the situation, they refused to take responsibility. Their reasoning? It had been over six months since my purchase—as if their mistake somehow expired. The fact remains: they sent the wrong product, and whether it was noticed in 6 minutes, 6 weeks, or 6 months, it’s still their mistake. A reputable company would recognize this and rectify it. Instead, they chose to hide behind technicalities, offering only a one-time 40% discount code instead of a proper resolution.

While I will use the discount to minimize my financial loss, this experience has left me questioning their ethics and reliability. If a company won’t take responsibility for its own errors, is it really worth doing business with them? I’ll be looking for a new supplier—one that values its customers and owns up to its mistakes.

To anyone considering buying from Packaging Chimp, be warned—if they make a mistake, they will try to find excuses so they won’t fix it. That’s not the kind of business I want to support.

Avoid at all cost

Absolutely horrendous experience. After placing an online order, the delivery failed twice and there is absolutely no after sales support whatsoever.

Online chat is disabled
Telephone is not answered and same with email contact.

Whatever you’re trying to buy you will find it with another seller. Please do not waste your time and money with this company.

Packed very poorly with no bubble wrap…

Packed very poorly with no bubble wrap or protection of very delicate small jewellery boxes. Items arrived damaged. Around a third of the order is damaged and unusable. Trying to get hold of anyone has been impossible. They ignore my emails and the phone line keeps saying I am at 'position 1' then eventually just hangs up on me. I am furious.

They cannot deliver

They cannot deliver, as the use DX Express that sends text messages with a delivery date and time but does not deliver, they take random photos of a door step and then claim they have attempted and then schedule for the next day to repeat the same sorry saga. A complete waste of time placing an order with this company. Order C59130, first time using this company and its a complete disappointment. They do not use normal delivery companies and do not provide Click and Collect and instead waste customers time waiting for parcels that never arrive.
Update, after making contact several times by chat, email, leaving online reviews, I finally got my parcel delivered to the correct address by the courier on the 2nd day. Never again!!!!

Disappointing service

Have been using Packaging Chimp since the beginning of February 2023, and everything was perfect until our last delivery.
Our order was placed on Friday after 4pm, so understandably picked picked up on the Monday.
On Tuesday we expected our delivery, but had no confirmation or email, so rang to PC to check, and was initially told it had been dispatched. I then received a text message telling me that due to the size of the delivery (100 insulated boxes), our delivery was going to be delayed until the following day.
No apology and no real explanation, as I am sure a company like this must deliver pallets of stock every day of the week.
I then rang the company again, and relayed my thoughts, and challenged their 24 hour delivery system, that had quite clearly not worked out on this occasion.
The delivery arrived the following day, but was short of 82 liners for the supplied boxes. I rang them several times on both Thursday & Friday of last week, but to no avail. Both days when I called there was no answer, no answer machine, I was just told that the extension wasn't available and it then cut off. I tried to use the contact section of the website, but sadly it just produces programming jargon.
So I am still waiting for a chance to speak to some one to resolve our issue of the missing liners.

I ordered for the first time and last

I ordered for the first time last Wednesday at 9:35 am in order to get delivery the next day as advertised. This did not arrive on Thursday as it should and today (Friday) I contacted to get an update. Phil responded and was very blunt and told me due to issues delivery wouldn’t be until Monday ( when I will not be able to take this in). Extremely disappointed as there was no update or communication whatsoever ever nor was there any compensation for the poor service or even an apology. I will not be ordering from here again.

This company stated one price for it's…

This company stated one price for it's product at the checkout, then charged me a different price to my card. I pointed this out to them and asked for a refund of the difference and they ignored my request. I won't be buying from them again.

Horrendous customer service

Horrendous customer service. I never received my parcel and have emailed multiple times and without a response. I contacted the delivery team and they said it was being returned to sender.
Would not recommend!

Never Again!

Ordered 60 boxes of envelopes and they sent 56 with a note saying "4 to follow". Over a month later and still waiting even though website has had them back in stock for 3 weeks! Messaged them numerous times with no reply! Never using these amateurs again.

Fabulous service

Fabulous service - order arrived exactly how ordered and the quality was much better than my previous supplier.

Ordered 2500 C5 Hard Backed envelopes and they arrived much quicker than I expected.

Keep up the good work - will be ordering again soon 👍

Very helpful!

At first I was sent the wrong size items, but after emailing they got back very quickly and sorted the issue out. Would definitely recommend! Simon was really helpful and professional! I will be ordering again in the future.

Inferior products

Inferior products, we ordered premium mailing sacks which were really thin and the self adhesive strip doesn't stick properly so we have to tape them shut.
