Myself & my employee attended the City & Guilds Intensive Airless Spraying Course in Preston ran by Pete Wilkinson and his wife Tracey.
We were both novices to spraying and were worried the course maybe too complicated and technical, but we needn't of worried.
On the first day Pete ran us through all the basics of spraying including all the spraying machines components, safety and what the sprayer actually does in a simple easy to understand way where you actually take in the information.
There's lots of practical workshops too where you can get hands on with the spraying equipment, working on ceilings, walls, skirting boards, door frames & spindles.
Again Pete explains the methods of using the gun & spray unit in different ways for different surfaces, spray pressures or what tips to use in a easy understandable way.
What I liked about this course was there was six in the class, which in my opinion is better than one to one as you get to learn more as we all see each others mistakes and learn by them and other students may ask questions you may not of thought of.
We also learnt all the benefits of spraying over traditional painting such as speed & finish.
I was that confident when finishing this course I immediately went and ordered my first spray unit and have so far used it on a couple of projects and am very happy with the results, for instance a staircase that would normally take me a day to give 2 coats to brush & roll the ceiling & walls took me 1 hour 15 minutes to spray both coats to a great finish.
I would certainly recommend this course to anyone looking to get into spraying or who is already spraying and wants to improve their technique.
Plus don't forget if you are CITB registered you can get funding to pay for the course, I did.

I attended the 2 day furniture spraying course in Preston last month and thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish.

Not only did Pete have a huge wealth of experience and knowledge on spraying but his extensive teaching background meant his delivery was spot on too. Nothing was too formal or up tight, it was relaxed and enjoyable, which is exactly what you want if you’re in the building trade.

I’m a joiner by trade and wanted to get into spraying to deliver a better end result to my customers and raise my standard of work to help me target more high end work and I feel this course has helped set me on that trajectory.

I can’t recommend this course enough and if your business is registered with the CITB some courses are fully funded too.

I’d like to thank Pete and the team for creating a fantastic learning environment and providing all the aftercare and support you need to get going on your spraying journey!

It was an enjoyable and informative course which gave me a good understanding of all things Airless spray related.
As a complete novice I now have the confidence to embark on my spraying journey.
The back up support and information received are going to prove extremely useful should I have any queries in the future.

Very friendly and informative company. Lots of information regarding tools and materials without being bias to any brands. Lots to learn even if you have been spraying for some time.

Liam explained everything well , probably would say abit more detail into different methods, also run through trouble shooting issues with machines and on the job.
But I enjoyed the course.

I undertook the 2 day intermediate wallpaper course with painttech academy in Edenbridge on 12/13/1/23. This is the 3rd course I’ve completed with these guys now and just like the last 2, did not disappoint. The way they (Ian) teach you, keeps you locked in and focussed. The training they provide is invaluable, whether you run a large company, Sole trader or just a diy’er. What they teach you and the way they deliver it, is 2nd to none and I’m looking forward to booking more courses with them in the not too distant future. The paint tech team were amazing and so knowledgeable about everything in the painting industry it blew my mind, I bought my first spray gun from these guys and went for a spraying course to learn how to use it. And it turned out to be so much more than a spraying course it was a buissness course and so much more, the guys give every individual on the course as much time as they need to perfect the skill at hand and answer everybody's questions,and question after question with no frustration at all as you'd normally expect with somebody just trying to punch in there day, these guys honestly care and have so much love and intusiasam for our industry they give each and every student on the course 200% it's amazing to see and so beneficial when you are one of those students. I travelled over from Ireland recently to attend my painting course and it was honestly the best money I have ever spent I would highly highly recommend booking in with these guys, I know I will again I have courses next year I plan to attend and I've been purchasing equipment ever since my last purchase as there customer service is second to none.
