I was so looking forward to visiting here as an avid reader. I normally buy my books from Amazon, TikTok shop or bigger chains but I wanted to support this local business. I came on Mother's Day with my husband and daughter. While the shop is lovely and well laid out with lots of choice the owners attitudes leave a lot to be desired. When I went up to the till to purchase my goods I was not greeted at all nor looked at just told the price and handed the card terminal, while the owners continued a personal conversation. After the fact I was then offered a bag. There was no thank you for coming or goodbye. I feel this has really ruined my experience. As someone who has a customer facing job myself I feel it is essential to make the customer feel like the most important person in your store at that time, not just another number adding to your profit. Very disappointed.

Everything I have ordered has arrived well packed and securely. On one occasion a preorder didn’t go as expected (it was meant to come with merch but the merch shipment was separate to the books and late/lost) but Abby kept us informed via email with the option to have the book shipped straight away.
I have absolute faith that Abby and the team would always try their best to solve any issues and I’m super excited to see them keep growing!

I’ve been a customer of paper & word since 2019 and have bought many book sleeves over the years.
The book sleeves are handmade, very high quality, and gorgeous!
Abby is a wonderful person and company owner. She’s always friendly and kind, and I never had any issue in all these years.
It usually takes up to 10 days between the order and shipment, as clearly mentioned on the website. Once it’s shipped, the parcel arrives about a week later in the EU.
I definitely recommend paper & word, great products, great customer service, and you’ll support a small business and a family!

I absolutely adore my Paper & Word book sleeves. You can see a lot of careful thought and consideration has gone into perfecting the different designs and sizes, and I'm always amazed at how all my different shaped books seem to fit in perfectly. The fabric choices are stunning, if your looking for gifts for your bookish pals, I can't recommend them enough.

Unlike others who have reviewed, I think the dispatch and shipping times are very reasonable - folks get so caught up with fast fashion and big marketplaces, I think we can lose sight of how much time it takes to make good quality handmade products.

Bit Time for the Shipping (germany)

I’ve purchased from Abby and Paper and Word several times now since discovering them earlier in the year and even subscribed to their secret society membership after my second one, I’ve been so pleased with every order and the overall experience as a customer.

They stock some really lovely products from brands that are otherwise difficult to access in the UK and compliment their own products like the book sleeves so well.

The sleeves themselves are really well made and provide a great extra level of protection, I have a few now in various patterns and use them for books as well as a couple of devices like my e-reader and iPad and can be totally confident they’ll be safe from any scratches or dings they might otherwise pick up in my bag or carrying them around.

On a personal level too, Abby has always been happy to respond to any query I’ve had (and I’ve had *a lot*) whether it was in insta dm or email and has always responded in a more than acceptable time frame, sometimes instantly. I’m quite amazed she manages to keep up with the customer service and communication in the way she does on top of creating the sleeves and handling all the fulfilment too.

Will absolutely continue to order from P&W and very much looking forward to future collections.

I now have 9 Kindle sleeves (number 10 on the way!) from Paper and Word and each one is beautifully made with the most gorgeous fabrics. Yes, you can get sleeves from other places delivered quicker but you won't find a better one than these. They are well worth the wait (I usually order as soon as new collections launch so obviously my order will be one of very many.) The website makes their delivery times very clear and I don't think I've ever waited longer than 2 weeks.

I love Paper & Word! I found them a few months ago and I already have 3 book sleeves with another one on the way. They are fantastic quality, and I couldn’t be happier with the customer service. The shipping is always done in the time frame listed in the website and I have no complaints. What a wonderful small business.

I would never consider getting a book sleeve from anywhere else. The quality and standard of these sleeves is incredibly high. They feel well made and luxury and you can clearly see the care that goes into making each one by hand. Paper and Word is a small business with a big heart, everything they do is with their customers in mind. I wouldn’t hesitate to order from them again and again and again. If you’re considering making a purchase, consider this your sign to do so. Their beautiful stock goes beyond just book sleeves and includes products from other small businesses too so they really do have something for everyone. Love them to bits!

Anyone leaving a review complaining about shipping times hasn’t read what is clearly stated on the website. This is a company run by a very small team who aren’t superhuman, they clearly lay out how long shipping will take. They do a smashing job at running this business and every effort is made to ensure the best for their customers. Abby is also always on hand to offer solutions and excellent customer service should the need ever arise.

The item was beautifully made and exactly as ordered. I fell in love with Paper and Word's aesthetic from an Instagram ad, and have since ordered three separate times (from the UK to Canada!) because I can't get enough of their gorgeous prints. I really love the quality of the sleeves and I get asked about them all the time.

Beautifully made book cosy. You can see the time and thought that has gone into the design, choice of fabric and contrast lining. Such a great idea and lovely for gifting.

Small businesses don’t have the same turnaround as Amazon for shipping, but even so, the end product is luxurious and worth the wait!

I’ve now made several purchases from paper & word and have to say I am wowed by their service so much so I have signed up to their subscription as a quarterly treat for myself. I have ordered items as gifts and for myself and had great communication from the team throughout. Are delivery times slower than the likes of Amazon slower? Yes, but the quality of the product you are receiving is MILES better. You can really tell that thought and care has been put into the products available in the store and the hand made book and tech sleeves are finished to an amazing standard (I’ve previously be gifted one from elsewhere and it feels nowhere near as protective or secure as this one).

I have purchased many book sleeves (at least 5 for myself and others as gifts) and I love each and every one. Every time I use one it brings me joy and, if I'm out and about, I always have people ask me where to buy one. They are so beautifully designed, high quality and do a brilliant job of protecting your precious books. They are a lovely company to deal with too and provide excellent customer service. Would highly recommend.

Top quality sleeves! I've seen a lot of people commenting on the shipping time and just wanted to offer a counter. Whilst the shipping does sometimes take a little while, it is 1. explicitly stated on the website the times and 2. worth the wait! with it being a small business I understand that batches are not made and shipped in a day, it takes a village! The sleeves themselves are beautiful quality, with such gorgeous patterns to choose from. Abby is so lovely to chat with and will always chat about the latest book releases and sleeve releases. Couldn't recommend enough!!
