Parawan’s Thai Home Cooking Classes is a locally-run cooking school in Sairee Village, Koh Tao, offering friendly, hands-on Thai cooking experiences for travellers of all ages. Every class is taught by Parawan herself, a Thai home cook with a lifetime of experience and a passion for sharing authentic flavours and techniques from her family kitchen. Our classes take place on the rooftop of Parawan’s home, creating a warm, relaxed, and personal atmosphere where students can learn, laugh, and enjoy amazing food together. Each session covers fresh ingredients, sauces, preparation methods, and step-by-step guidance to make popular Thai dishes such as Pad Thai, Green Curry, Tom Yum, Mango Sticky Rice and many other favourites. Group Classes run twice a day and the first people to book choose the menu for everyone. Private Classes are available for individuals, couples, friends, and families in groups of up to 6 people, including evening sessions. We also offer Online Classes so you can learn Thai cooking from anywhere in the world. Absolutely fantastic time! We actually booked a group class but in the end we had a private class at Parawan’s and we couldn’t be happier with our experience. It was super personal, very educational and the food we cooked was delicious!
Definitely give this one a go if you are in Ko Tao. I’d highly recommend the Khao Soi 👌
Great family experience! We had a wonderful time. The cooking instructor was excellent and shared plenty of tips and techniques to help us recreate the dishes at home. Definitely worth doing again — highly recommended!

This class is amazing and she is a fantastic teacher. I have taken 4 classes from her now over the years and each time I learn amazing facts. Great value and unforgettable memories.
We have learned a lot about Thai cooking and the days different essential ingredients and the effect on the taste. Back home we have different ingredients than Here in Thailand so the recipe should change a bit. We have received contact details and can always send a message with our questions.
Parawan took the time to explain the origin of all ingredients to us and the importance of using local ingredients. Next to that, she makes the classes a lot of fun, where you really own each step of the way.

Parawan has set up a great kitchen in the top floor of her home. She is very friendly and welcoming to all that book. It's not just a basic cooking class on how to cook these set 3 meals, its learning about how Thai food is made in general and adapting with what you have available to you. Worth every penny 😊
