The location on the app sucks, the app doesn't let you know if you have selected the wrong place even though the location on your phone is correct. Then having paid the whole time maybe right beside where the car is but in another pay zone the send you a fine. The app sucks and is very expensive and not good for being this expensive.

Their customer service is ridiculous, waiting for a month for a refund of 32 000 kr, which they charged me for one hour of parking. Please safe yourself the stress and download Easypark! Do not park with parka!

I used the Parka app during a September 2025 trip to Iceland to pay for parking on my rental car (licence plate LVG81). My credit card was stored in the app at that time. Weeks after I returned home to Canada and after the rental ended, my card was charged 6,726 ISK for parking at Traðarkot from 13–15 November 2025 – dates when another renter had the car and I was not even in Iceland.​

I immediately contacted Parka using the support addresses in their own emails, asking for a refund and for my card to be unlinked. One address bounced back as non‑existent and I have received no meaningful response from the company. My bank declined to reverse the charge because the card was stored in the app, leaving me paying for parking I did not use.​

This shows a serious flaw in how Parka handles stored cards for rental vehicles: a later driver can apparently bill a previous customer’s card, and there seems to be no effective support when this happens. Until Parka refunds this charge, confirms my card is removed from their system, and fixes this design problem, I strongly warn other tourists against linking their credit card to the Parka app, especially when using rental cars

Horrible Scam! Parking spaces are not clearly marked. The fee they charge for missed payments is extortionate and completely unjustified. When emailing to resolve this is they were rude and insulting. Disappointing way to end our Iceland trip - everyone else was great.

Beware of this company. They do not clearly mark their parkingspaces, so that you will not notice that you are supposed to pay for parking. Then they charge you a fine of almost 4000kr for parking for half an hour. I parked outside a clothing store in Reykjavik. The parking space was right in front of the store, unmarked. When I got home I had been charged 4000ISK (approx. 30 $). I actually purchased goods at the store for 20.000ISK and they didn't inform me that they had this company charging for parking. Beware of this.
I also had the strange experience of paying parking for another car (so paying double) when I parked outside a business I was going to for a job interview! I avoid this company's parking because of those unfortunate experiences. The least they can do is clearly mark their parking spaces, but I guess if they did that they wouldn't make as much money.

We have been wrongly charged by Parka in Iceland, with an Icelandic car. Been trying to contact them now for 1 month but they have not responded to any of the (6) emails from their own system which is the only way to contact them.
NB: There are no phone numbers and other ways to contact them.

Parka.is and app does not work with Islandic registered car and DK visa cards or master card. The cards cannot be approved. It a problem when parken on remote parking place
