We had a major headache concerning our booking at a Parkdean resort. My wife and I were booked into one lodge with our daughter and son in law. As our area is in the tier 2, high grouping, we aren't allowed to be inside with family members. I spoke to Karen at Parkdean who was extremely professional, helpful and friendly. She informed me of our options, I then discussed them with my family. I then rang back, luckily it was Karen who answered and as I was saying goodbye, my wife had received an email from her presenting us with a voucher (as agreed), to the full amount paid, to be used on another holiday. Super efficient and excellent service. Many thanks to Parkdean.
sadly i normal enjoy parkdean untill we went to ruda the places is a joke the staff are rude they discrimated for disable children is disgiusting we went there monday just gone after an 4 hour drive no parking for our caravan the staff was rude so we lefted staright away which was a four hour drive home they didnt care abt anyone in our party even though we phone and told them after we made the booking i will never use park dean again and hopefully other pepole with disable family and freinds will stay well clear and chose other hollday parks
We have stayed at Parkdean Resorts (Whitley Bay) a few times over recent years. Sadly, standards seem to be slipping. Our recent experience has made us hesitant to go back, and prompted us to write this review.
The curtain rail in the lounge was broken in half, and someone had attempted a bodged repair using insulating tape. This gave way one evening whilst drawing the curtains, with the whole lot landing on our heads.
Our gas fire (the only source of heating in the entire caravan) was missing its electronic igniter. I have no idea why. There was simply a gaping hole where the ignition ‘used to be’. This meant that we had to use the battery operated lighter (found in the kitchen cupboard) any time we required heat, which always resulted in a frightening blowback when the gas ignited. In fact, my partner refused to light the fire herself for this reason.
The grill (gas powered) would not stay lit for more than a few seconds, without keeping the knob on the cooker depressed. In addition, the metal tray which was supposed to support the grill pan was missing parts and therefore unusable. I managed to get our bacon grilled by holding the pan handle and keeping the pan under the flame with one hand whilst holding the gas knob in with the other, but as this took a good ten minutes I burnt my hand in the process.
The filter on the cooker hood was caked with grease and the hood would not extract properly.
The mains cable which supplied our caravan with electricity was inside the wardrobe in the main bedroom. The cable was loose, not clipped or supported in any way whatsoever, neither to the wall or to the consumer unit. This was especially worrying given that the wardrobe was used regularly for storage. I dread to think what might happen if this live cable were caught inadvertently, or perhaps even pulled out of the consumer unit completely by an inquisitive or unruly child?
The mains powered carbon monoxide detectors were due for replacement over five years previously, according to manufacturer’s labels on the casings.
Labels stuck on every portable appliance in the caravan showed that all these items were long overdue a PAT (electrical safety) test.
It was impossible to adjust the water temperature on the boiler as someone had removed the knob.
There was no extractor fan in the bathroom (odd in this day and age) - the bathroom got extremely damp and humid as a result.
The shower waste appeared to be significantly blocked, which meant standing in a pool of dirty water each time we took a shower.
The mixer tap on the bathroom basin was broken, and wobbled around uselessly. The only way to switch the tap on or off was to hold the body of the tap still with one hand whilst operating the lever with the other.
The lighting in some of the rooms (especially the lounge) was really dingy. It strained my eyes.
Although we arrived in late September the caravan was chilly, and downright freezing during the night. There was no way to heat the bedrooms, but thicker duvets would have helped.
Within only a few minutes of arriving at the caravan we were asked if everything was alright and to our satisfaction. I would suggest that this question be asked after a decent length of time has elapsed, so that the occupants can offer a proper assessment. It’s only natural that no-one would have any idea of the sort of problems they might encounter, until well into their holiday.
There is no way that holiday-makers want handymen or tradesmen traipsing in and out of their accommodation during their vacation. Nor should anyone have to decant to an alternative caravan (if given the opportunity) after unpacking all their belongings. Issues like the ones we experienced are major defects which should have been addressed long before we arrived on site. The whole idea is to relax.
For these reasons we can no longer recommend Park Resorts (Whitley Bay) until standards improve. It would seem that the changeovers are rushed or incompetently undertaken, with a severe lack of proper inspection, not only by Park Resorts but also the companies which they employ to undertake safety inspections on their behalf.
PROS: cheap, affordable holiday; beautiful seaside location; dog friendly
CONS: lax attitudes to maintenance, quality control, and occupant safety
we have just come back from a weekend in newquay holiday park. absolutely brilliant, caravan was spotless, all covid measures were in place and by and large adhered too. we had food and drinks in the restaurant which was great value. the staff are very young but what a lovely friendly bunch, hard working and always cheerful. this is our second visit to the park and have also stayed at looe bay. we are looking to go back to newquay or looe again next march and can't wait. above all considering things are obviously very different times at the moment we had a fantastic time. thank you, we will be back x

The customer service is absolutely shocking! I had several issues with my stay and no acknowledgement yet. Still waiting on a refund nearly 2 months after requesting it! I didn’t feel they did enough for COVID-19. Absolute sham.
If I could rate zero stars I would!!!Thorness Bay Isle of Wight the accommodation was filthy shabby unkept with out of date fire extinguisher in the van!!Not covid clean and no social distancing on any of the park!Broken dangerous furniture, pubic hair in the freezer, the last customers belongings still in there and two of us came back with skin infections due to the lack of cleanliness .They are appauling to deal with ,no one gets back to you or answers the phone -I have contacted the media and will be taking to court for our unacceptable stay that ruined 6 people’s family holiday.Never ever will I or any one of my friends or family Book with this company again -they should be ashamed!!!!!
I wouldnt even give them 1 star!! Booked a holiday they that could not fulfil and they are refusing to refund us our money!
Still waiting to here from a complaint i sent on 3rd august!!
ABSOLUTE DIABOLICAL COMPANY, CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NON EXISTENT! - AVOID UNLESS YOU LIKE TO BE SCAMMED AND STOLEN FROM!
Due to local lockdown we have had to cancel our holiday for 28th September, rang Pendine sands and explained this too them, was told that we couldn't get a refund only a voucher for next year, all the dates I gave them for next year are not available, and asked for my money back but was refused, surely due to covid I should have my money back.
Omg what can I say shocking caraven was dirty considering they are supposed to do exrat clean (yer right)
Complained to them nothing sorted window broken report 5 times never fixed whilst we was there.
Will not be using them ever again and we used parkdean for many years don't use.
Caravan was nice but the cleaning considering we have a Pandemic was poor. I had to clean everything! The dishwasher was filthy and had to be cleaned before it could be used, there was NO handle for the grill and as a result i burned my hand, the toaster didn't toast very well its worn out ,there was no cheese grater the only spatula was broken and when i lifted HOT food it fell apart, the heating wouldn't come on when it got cold at night. There was no one to talk to as the only means of communication was text and we got no reply. we had to text when we left and we left a day early but they didnt confirm they had received it until the next day. I would say all in all it was ok but for the monies paid it should have been better!
Impossible to get hold of by phone or any corporate social media channel and disgracefully robbing clients of the reduction in VAT when they would be all too quick to pass on any increase. Corporate thieves and charlatans.
You are a disgrace of a company. Refusing to refund me as I am in local lockdown (Caerphilly)!!!! We were due to travel on the 25th of September I am I full time university student who is also trying to work full time due to this pandemic. My partner works on a COVID testing site and this was the only time off together we got!!! NEVER BOOK WITH THEM YOU WILL NOT SEE YOUR MONEY AGAIN!!!!!!!😡😡😡
I am not satisfied with a voucher as it is no good to me. We HAVE booked a package holiday as the definition of a package is one or more. We booked the caravan and entertainment passes which come as an optional extra so therefore we chose to book them. That is a package as it is one or more.
I am disgusted with the way I have been treated and very upset over how you broke your own confidentiality by not asking to speak to the lead passenger (my partner) but speaking to me without asking permission from him first.
If I do not receive a full refund and response from this email within 5 working days from the date of this email (16th September 2020)I will be going to trading standards and the ombudsman over your unprofessional ways and disgusting customer service. I will be expecting a response on or before the 23rd of September 2020
I will never book with yourselves again and I will go out of my way to make sure everyone knows what a shambles and disgrace you are!!!
Booked a holiday and all seemed well until our Son became unwell and had to cancel. Upon requesting a redund we were told to wait sevwn to ten working days for it to show up in the account, alas, such time past, and no refund. Upon a second request we have been told to wait yet another ten working days.
Absolutely disgraceful, will be reporting to ofcom!
I bet they didn't wait a month to line their pockets with our money!
Disgusting

We have been holidaying with Parkdean for years now and have visited a number of sites, Always been looked after and nothing has ever been too much trouble, Excellent facilities across all sites, I see too often people leaving negative reviews about petty things so I thought In would leave my review, we are due to travel to West Bay next week and have already booked Nairn Lochloy for next year already.

Dispite complaining whilst on site AND filling in complaint form AND emailing both head office and Customer Services and allowing the 10 day investigation guideline which has passed and chases no response to the AWFUL HOLIDAY /CARAVAN and no disabled exit when fire alarm went off AVOID.
4 WEEKS LATER NO RESPONSE RECEIVED
HOLIDAY WAS SO AWFUL WILL NOT LET THIS DROP

I am currently on one of your sites. The caravan you put me and my young son in us right next to the bin for the bar and restaurant. Every 15 mins someone from the bar / restaurant, throws bottles in the bin..i have never heard anything so horrific. It's awful. Last night, this stopped at gone 12pm and right now it's happening. 10:15pm and we can't sleep. It's awful. We get up early to go out and this is what I have to deal with.
I have never in all my life stayed at such a noisy caravan park. Or hotel, or any holiday resort.
It is so bad I am leaving Tomorrow, Sunday. Rather than stay another night. I cannot listen to this again and I am not moving caravans.
Our first day, we left the beach early to get to our pool booking at 4:45pm, to find out the pool was closed due to a fault. Great start. The receptionist was rude when I went to ask what else there is to do.
I have never had such a bad experience or been to such a noisy resort before. It's been awful.

Stayed at california cliffs, Caravan was filthy on arrival and my wife spent the first 2 hours of our holiday cleaning. the park is claiming they have extra cleaning features due to covid, the caravan itself was battered about on the outside assuming it has been moved several times in its life, we paid a premium price for the holiday and ended up with a tired, very dated filthy caravan, the sofa had been repaired in the past and they had replaced the chipboard base with 4mm ply which I fell through whilst sitting, they came and repaired it straight away but they should not have used timber so thin on a span over 2ft.
To sum it up, we booked late due to our hols being cancelled abroad, so paid a premium price for budget accommodation, I would not stay at california cliffs again.

Absolutely appalled at this company.
Their customer service is the worst I’ve ever experienced in 30+ years.
The caravans are NOT COVID-19 SECURE, the 3 parks I tried are not following any social distancing.
The management are utterly useless, that is no exaggeration, I spoke with at least 4 managers so far regarding my concerns, not one of the interested.
I will NEVER return to a holiday park operated by Parkdean Resorts and I will be filing a chargeback with my bank for “not fit for purpose” accomodation.
Genuinely awful company to deal with and I hope their directors are proud at how badly they are operatin. They are treating customers with zero respect whatsoever just to make themselves money without a care for humanity.
Unfortunately I have to agree with others on here. Parkdean is not refunding overpayments taken by them. They are impossible to reach by phone. I would not advise using them, unless you want to be ripped off and pay more for your holiday than you expected. SHEER ARROGANCE from this company, who seem to think your money is theirs. Very bad service.
I am very disappointed with Parkdean Resorts.
I had a booking for three nights at their Manor Park site for my Motorhome at a total cost of £130. Expensive, but my daughter is staying in a static Caravan on the site so I went ahead.
Due to family circumstances I wanted to reduce this down to two nights. After waiting for 2hours 20 minutes to get through on the telephone as online did not give to the option to alter the length of stay I get through and I am told the cost is now £123.00 for two nights!
The reason because they can charge what they like depending on when you book.
The phone signal was bad so I agreed. Upon receiving the email confirmation of the change I had been charged £23 for the change. I was not informed of this charge. So I have paid £123 for two nights. A rip off as all the facilities are not available.
An email to the chief executive yesterday whilst waiting on line has not been acknowledged. I would not recommend using this company.
Did get a message to call a woman. Called the number given and after an hour on the phone got through to a department where no such named girl was employed. A further email to the CEO has gone unanswered.
Parkdean Resorts doesn’t seem to know about customer care.
I will never go to one of their sites again.
