Horrible experience. Couldn't figure out how to do multi-day sessions. Very stressful having to remember to restart session. Thank God they didn't tow me.

Good way to pay. Not your problem, elgin station is not marked well to find out how to pay parking. One thing was I had to pay 2 times during the day because app would not let me sign up for 10 hours.... See more

When I ran the qr code, it didn't immediately take me to the pay screen. Seems like it could be made easier. I do appreciate the reminder before my time expires.

The Parking website wouldn’t process…

The Parking website wouldn’t process and was showing a technical error which is not even human readable, henceforth I had to try multiple times for it to finally go through. Missed the train as I was not able to pay for parking . Had a pathetic experience and not sure Of I want to use this site again. I rather pay through kiosk than trying my luck with your app.

Good way to pay

Good way to pay. Not your problem, elgin station is not marked well to find out how to pay parking. One thing was I had to pay 2 times during the day because app would not let me sign up for 10 hours. The third was because train was cancelled. But now that I know how to do it, next time will be easier. So instead of $2 + I wound up spending $6. Like I said before Elgin station should be better marked for first timers.

Unclear instructions

Due to unclear instructions I paid for a spot at a different station. Wound up just using the parking kiosk at the station I was at. Thankfully I'm only out a few dollars but was very disappointed with your service.

The app sucks it wouldn’t let me set…

The app sucks it wouldn’t let me set the time starting at midnight, only at 12.30am. Also I don’t understand why I can’t set the time to go from when I got there at 8pm to the next morning when I got back, I had to book it twice, one for that day and then one time for the next day

Incredibly disappointed- there were no parking…

I was incredibly disappointed. Apparently you are not “reserving” your parking spot even though I called multiple times and they said I would be. I showed up and there were no parking stalls left. Fortunately I was able to park a couple blocks away and did not have to pay for that parking space and it was a nice space. I will never use parking.com for this location ever again.

I found your app to be not user…

I found your app to be not user friendly. The information required is inconsistent. Once it asked for a start/end time then another I had to select hours/minutes. Neither is needed since it is a flat rate.

TERRIBLE User Experience All Around

I never knew if I had an active session. I needed to park in this 24/7 lot for three days. When I approached the meter to pay, I was unable to pay with credit card and directed to Parking.com. (That was frustrating, but ok fine.) I scanned the QR code which took me to the website. I then had to run back to my car to figure out what my license plate number is. (Who memorizes that?) I then needed the parking lot number, which is on the machine. Already, this is lots of hassle and I’m all for technology. I added my email for the login, which includes an underscore. After I was finally able to pick a time the system liked, more on that later, the success notification pop-up removed the underscore and I didn’t receive any email notifications as to the success of my purchase. Because I was parking for three days, I was hoping I could just pay for 3 days and that be the end of it. Instead, the system only allows for 23 hours and 45 minutes. However, I had to play with the time to see what the system would actually accept. I could not select the entire ~24 hours. I would be fine having to re-submit every 24 hours, except on this first purchase, I could only get 12. Because I didn’t receive a purchase receipt to my email, for good measure, I bought another time slot and did not receive a receipt. This was no big deal, since each purchase was ~$2.50 total. Again, no receipt, only a pop-up. (Note: Luckily each purchase was the same, no matter the length of time, which was a plus.)

While on the train, I downloaded the app. I do not recall if I created an account on the app or the website. In any case, the app did not recognize the email I used on the website to patch-in the purchase(s) I already made. (Developers: why can’t you see if someone used the same email before and patch the info together? Some people will use the site first, like I did.) So, the app did not show the lot number or my license plate number. Good thing I screencapped the website, so I had the info; the parking lot was long gone at this point.

Inside the app, functionality was a mess. I couldn’t easily add my license plate or the lot as a favorite. The ‘favorite’ tab just made me search for nearby parking. It was really frustrating.

Each time I added time, I had to test the times to see what it would actually accept. A couple of times, I had to wait past the end time to add time. This is horrible functionality and an absolutely terrible user experience. The lot is advertised as 24/7, do better with your design and functionality. You are a subsidiary of an established company - which app I tried first, but kept getting errors, so I was forced to switch to Parking.com.

Overall, this was a terrible experience. I was relieved to find my car there (not towed) and that there were no tickets. Either the app worked or no one really checks the lot to see if people pay. Either way the experience was frustrating as hell having to remember to pay more and being forced to try different times to see what the system would accept. They even tack on a service fee to each purchase for this bad experience. Do better.
