From the reviews of others, I am seeing that many had the same payment problem as I did. Since I am a truck driver from abroad, I had an even more of a harder time to pay for my parking. I had to pay extra fees to have my money to be converted to Swedish Krona, so i can finally pay it. There should be an easier way to pay parking. Just like how we pay to use an app from the Google Play, we just click one time, add our card information and payment is completed. One click payment like this should be allowed anytime.

Unfortunately, i will have to avoid parking in your parking spots, because it was a big headache to deal with the payment.

Miss Philippa from Parkster helped with the payment, was always responsive and helped me get rid of this headache. I am giving 4 stars for her support and removing 1 star because of this payment hell. Normally i wouldn't even give this much.

And don't any of these sites offer English language? Even this site is fully in Swedish. All the automated messages i received were in Swedish. Parkster's own website was half Swedish, half English. There are many international truckers using your parkings, not all of us know Swedish. I had to screenshot and use Google Translate all the time which was an extra headache.

But finally the headache is gone. Thanks Miss Philippa.

One star

One star – a system seemingly designed to make payment unnecessarily difficult

My experience with Parkster has been consistently frustrating. What should be a simple and transparent process—paying for parking—appears instead to be wrapped in unnecessary complexity when it comes to invoices and payments.

The payment flow feels unintuitive, hard to follow, and poorly supported. Finding invoices, understanding payment status, or resolving issues takes far more time and effort than it reasonably should. Whether intentional or not, the result is the same: users are put in a position where paying on time becomes harder than necessary.

For a company operating at scale and in cooperation with municipalities, this is unacceptable. Parking is not a luxury service—it’s public infrastructure. Clarity, accessibility, and trust should be non-negotiable.

Municipalities should seriously reconsider relying on solutions like this and instead choose providers with transparent pricing, straightforward payment processes, and a clearly legitimate customer-first business model.

Technology should reduce friction, not create it. Unfortunately, Parkster does the opposite.

DONT USE PARKSTER!!!

Parkster is a rip-off at €1.30, which quickly adds up to €7.29 with fees, collection threats, deferrals, chargebacks, etc.

Take small change, it's better.

A company create to steal money

I explain what are my experiences with u:
1) when i was using an account business u charged all the parking with 10 kr..if I parked for 10 minutes and the costs is 1 kr, u add on my invoice 11 kr.
I could understand if u send an invoice every parking..no! 35 parking, 35 times 10 kr.
Stealing money? Yes.

2) your app aloud me to park in a street, there was your green line and "P" , but I took a ticket from parkering vakt. When I tried to xontact u to help me, u just told me that it was not your problem because for you side was everything ok.
Stealing money? Yes.

Calm or not, u are the worst.

Stupid scam

I’ve been using at least 5 different parking apps over the last 3+ years, both for private and business purposes. I downloaded Parkster the same way as the others: quickly at a parking lot, just to pay. But Parkster did something none of the others ever did: it charged money from my business card over the weekend, while I was privately away, without me even having my phone or card with me, and without me giving any confirmation or permission for the transaction.

Apparently, I had some option “ticked” in the app (license plate camera, supposedly also for private use) – but when you’re rushing to park, you simply don’t notice such sneaky settings. No other app works in such a tricky and misleading way.

After my very first use, I deactivated Parkster and I never want to have anything to do with it again. This is a dishonest and customer-hostile app that abuses trust.

paper faktura + no kivra

paper faktura for an "online parking app" are you kidding in 2025? i searched for an option to get autogiro or atleast digital brev in kivra but i could not find any option other that paper faktura.

A Parking App That Feels Like a Trap

I've been using this parking app for 2–3 years, and not once have I had a smooth payment experience. There’s always an issue!

They charge 29 kr for paper invoices, claim you won’t be charged until you reach a limit, then hit you with extra fees for late payment anyway. Most recently, I was charged over 300 kr for a 68 kr parking fee due to a mix of collection fees, notice fees, interest, etc—none of which I expected.

A parking app should make paying for parking easy, not feel like dealing with a loan company. Super unhappy and definitely do not recommend!

Listen to the other reviewers. Avoid this company. You will setup a payment online, it says it will go through at a given date. It then doesn't go through and they charge triple the fees. Better yet they send you the bill via mail internationally in a foreign language (wherever you visited). Its a scam. This company needs to get sued.

If you have card debit as a payment method and we can not, for some reason, charge your card - we will send you a invoice via paper or e-mail. Note that we first do three attempts to debit your card. A reason for failed debits could be not enough money at your account, or if your card is not open for online shopping.

Get parking ticket due to app ended parking earlier unexpectedly, and Parkster NOT taking responsibility

About two weeks ago, I parked in Visby Gotland using the App. Even though the time was set and extended correctly (I even restarted the app and could see the correct set time and cost on the app afterwards.), it ended the parking session during midnight while I was asleep. Get a parking ticket and contacted Parkster serveral times after this. They claims that it's customer's responsibility to make sure that the parking time is set correctly in the SYSTEM! How customer can know the Parkster's backend system! The issue here is that either Parkster is lying about their system or Parskter's parking system is deeply flawed (e.g. the sync between app and backend system is not stable at all). Don't trust this company and it's app! You risk getting parking ticket!

För cirka två veckor sedan parkerade jag i Visby Gotland med hjälp av appen. Även om tiden var korrekt inställd och förlängd (jag startade till och med om appen och kunde se rätt inställd tid och kostnad på appen efteråt.), avslutade den parkeringssessionen under midnatt medan jag låg och sov. Skaffa en parkeringsbot och kontaktade Parkster flera gånger efter detta. De hävdar att det är kundens ansvar att se till att parkeringstiden är korrekt inställd i SYSTEMET! Hur kunden kan känna till Parksters backend-system! Problemet här är att antingen ljuger Parkster om sitt system eller så är Parskters parkeringssystem djupt defekt (t.ex. synkroniseringen mellan app och backend-system är inte alls stabil). Lita inte på det här företaget och dess app! Du riskerar att få parkeringsbot!

The app is a scam

The app is a scam. On August 7th, we parked our camper near the Schwarzenau campsite at Lake Achensee. I had no coins, so I used the app to pay, which estimated 35 euros but said the actual cost would be calculated after parking. I thought it was a maximum amount based on time, but we were charged 35 euros for just 2 hours. Customer service said this was the minimum fee for parking a camper, regardless of time, which I believe is clearly a scam.

Trustpilot reviews

Scam artists, as everyone mentioned. Who uses paper in 2024? How is that good for the environment? How is that good for anything? The answer is they want you to pay the "fee", that's why.

How can Sweden give a permit to this type of company, it's so non Swedish this type of thing. I can only assume the authorities aren't aware of their practices.

In a time where companies praise for sustainability we have this kind of companies doing shady business. I would be ashame to work or be related to this company.

Near Scam Procedures

Like others, as a tourist from UK, need to be aware that registering card on the app does not make this the mode of payment. A month later you will get an invoice in German for payment only by International Bank Transfer by a certain date. No doubt they do this with the hope this deadline will be missed and penalties can be added. My advice, avoid Parkster unless you are familiar with their near scam procedures.

Expect Payment Issues

Hello Parkster,

Firstly, why are you sending paper invoices and not just taking card payments through the app at the time of parking? Your process is very archaic and a waste of time and resources. We thought we had paid at the time of parking and we're surprised to have not and to have received an invoice.

Furthermore, I paid the bill on behalf of the account you sent the invoice to. This included the reminder fee. We got a email response from you acknowledging payment. This payment was sent before the deadline you placed on the invoice.

We have just received another invoice for around double the original amount. I don't read German well, but the gist seems to be you are claiming payment was received after the deadline. My bank transfer details prove we sent the amount before the deadline, however, the weekend my have delayed your receipt? Unsure if I'm honest.

In essence, we won't be sending any further money to Parkster as we paid the invoice. We wanted to pay you straight away when we parked months ago, but your processes are confusing. Then, we paid the invoice before the deadline when we understood what was needed (we are busy and thought it may be a scam, hence the reasonable time taken).

Also, sending invoices only in German isn't helpful. Bizarrely, your last text saying the account has been blocked was in English. Unsure why this wasn't an option before? This didn't help with our understanding.

I see you have blocked the account linked to the number above according to a text.

If you care to unblock it, recognise payment was received and rescind your last penalty invoice, then that would be a positive sign of good faith from your company.

I, as many others as per these Trust Pilot reviews, seem to have a very dubious impression of your company's processes. For me, it's bordering on scam-like.

I would appreciate a response and action as per what I have outlined. This would support a customer who just wanted to pay you from the beginning!

It would also somewhat redeem your reputation in the eyes of all who read this review.

Bad service

I cannot recommend this company. They do not provide payment information along with their invoices. Sent me a 100% extra fee for late payment without a bank account. I was forced to sign up for a parking lot which is very difficult if you are not from Sweden.

Avoid this app

I thought I paid the parking fee via the app. When I got the invoice in German, I did not realize that this was a bill to pay and ignored it. Now I got another one with a fine. Avoid this app. Use something else.

Parkster app (rubbish) why need by social security number to park.

In Angleholm, there are 3 options to park in Hemboksparken. The meter which was broken, the Parkster app and E-Park app.
The Parkster app is the THE worst parking app I have used.
1. It failed to register my details after several attempts
2. It required my social security number - WHY? To park a car?
3. I have a valid SS number and it still refused to register me.
There were several tourists in the same predicament who don’t have a SS number.
Luckily E-Park was much much simpler to register and to use, so they got my business instead. And deleted the Parkster app off my phone
The UIUX of this app was garbage and is a disgrace to be an option in public place. Totally appalled. I will complain to the council to get this removed as a parking option.

The reason we are asking for your social security number is because we need your home adress to be able to send out the invoice (if it is not possible to debit your card or via e-mail). If you are a tourist or do not have a social security number, it is possible to choose an option for this when registration. In that case you have to register a credit card as a payment method instead.
