zero response back from them.

I tried for months to start using breadpay as an alternative for our shop, but it seams like they are not interested in having any business at all since we can't get a single person on the phone that knows what they are doing, they just keep transfering you to different sectors and all the emails that they have are either wrong or isn't the right sector. I decided to try them as a installment option for my clients because we use Clover as a POS and they have breadpay integrated, but I just gave up on trying since I had zero response back from them.

Horrible software & customer service

Horrible software, horrible email support, don’t want people with good credit scores (that would get 0% interest). I got approved but never got to where they gave us money, but based on what we saw I believe all the horrible experiences people reported here.
This is not the kind of company you want to use for money transactions.

I am a fantastic borrower, 800+ credit score and low debt to income, that might have worked against me (they would not make much money off me as I would take the 0% APR 2 year choice).

I saw the reviews here but the company we were doing a high dollar purchase from said they had no problems so we decided to try it. For a backup we walked into our local credit union and within 30 min got a new intro 0% apr credit card we could also use.

Bread software would just blow up (close) with no error messages at all. Several times in a row. Later I got emails saying they could not pull credit and they needed one of 5 credit agencies to be opened up. So I opened up the one most companies used.
Same issues. Contacted email support and listed the credit agency where the freeze was lifted, I asked if they ran credit again and asked which agency they used. Got an email response saying "understand your concern" with no answers to questions, and saying unfreeze a credit agency.
I got a canned email with generic credit agency info but had equifax listed so opened that credit agency and got one step forward.
Then it asked for an Id to be uploaded.
I got a message done successfully, but when continued the order was taken to Id verification again (3 times). Got 3 emails asking for the ID to be uploaded - used one of those links. Then got 20 more emails the next 24 hours saying they wanted the ID.
I got an email later that said to contact them with a phone number 888-329-5435 and got a live person. She said no ID was uploaded (despite us doing that 4 times) but then she found it. She "had to do something" and then said we would hear tomorrow.
More emails overnight, most asking for an ID upload.
Called the number again, was told an email was sent the night before with a decision. Never got it (yes, I checked). He resent it. It said denied possible fraudulent activity (no confirmation of anything they thought was fraud).

If they are this bad when applying, they will be that bad when distributing and administering the loan (as others have reported). Find another way to pay for what you want.

They never sent my loan to the retailer

Made a $900 purchase a week ago and bread never sent it to the retailer so now my order is lost somewhere. I’ve contacted both the retailer and bread customer service with absolutely no help. I was basically told that I need to figure it out even through it has nothing to do with me. I even paid off the entire loan at once to see if that would help. When I called they told me there wasn’t even an order ID for the retailer to look it up. So they know it’s on their part. I’ve used them multiple times with no problem but this one time is a complete nightmare. I will not stop figuring this out on my own until I find an answer or take legal action against them.

SCAM

SCAM! Do not deal with Bread Pay!! I was making a purchase at a local furniture store where Bread Pay advertised 12-24 month - no interest. It took me and the store manager over an hour to complete the application through texting with Bread Pay! Within 5 minutes while still standing at the store counter, I learned through phone call and text that my interest rate was 14.99% for their “no interest” advertisement! I immediately replied that the purchase would not be made and to cancel my application but was informed that I couldn’t do that! The store manager called to inform them I was NOT MAKING THE PURCHASE and to cancel the application! I paid cash and left the store. Thankfully, I have my cash receipt and merchandise will not be delivered until tomorrow. I have received texts and emails from Bread Pay several times today giving me a total, first payment amount and date due! I googled customer service where I actually talked to something that “appeared human” claiming to be a supervisor. LuLu was her first AND last name and her broken English was terrible! She asking me “which credit card I wanted to talk about” then she just hung up!!
I called the store and they are turning this over to the local store’s district manager’s department.

No Clue What it is but they are stealing my money

I didn’t purchase anything with bread, I don’t have a credit card with any of their stores, yet I have a charge on my bank statement from them. You try and call and receive no assistance and can’t get a human to help you because you don’t have an account number or credit card with the “special phone number”. There is nothing showing up on a credit report so it’s a mystery and I’m left thinking

Don't do it

Don't do it; they're a scam. They won't send your order over, and then they keep trying to charge you even after you give them the proof they requested.

Inefficient at best

THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AVAILABLE ON THE PAYMENT PORTAL TO ANSWER QUESTIONS, AND YET BREAD PAY HAS NO PROBLEM ASKING FOR PAYMENTS FOR AN OUTSTANDING LOAN WITH A COMPANY I'M DISPUTING A CHARGE WITH? BREAD PAY HAS WEBSITE AMBIGUITY AFTER PURCHASE, AND HIGH INTEREST RATES TO BOOT! I DO NOT RECOMMEND USING THIS LOAN SERVICE UNLESS YOU LIKE GETTING THE RUN AROUND WITHOUT ANYONE AROUND TO ANSWER THE PHONE TO HELP WITH YOUR ISSUE.

Runaround with no results

This company approved me for a payment plan, and the website said to click Bread Pay as an option at checkout. I did exactly that and it declined my payment plan. When I informed the company I was shopping at, they sent me to Bread, who told me to call the credit union because something was wrong. Nothing was. I was told to try it again online, and I was rejected again.

This took two days to work through, and when I went to another company to shop that uses Affirm, I had a payment plan approved in minutes and I was on my way. Bread is tedious and inefficient as a company, despite their employees' best efforts to work against what is undoubtedly the result of sloppy management. It's embarrassing for a business to be so terrible at providing exactly one functionality, costing their clients money because they refuse to provide their promised services.

Scary people in this company

We were considering bankruptcy and this collector finally made it worth it to us. He'd torment us all day every day. Now that we've filed he still cannot stop. Attorney's are involved but I don't recommend you get near this company.

Liars

They lie to you. I was told I had till May 1,2024 to make my payment before 5:00pm. The company defaulted my loan and said I was told wrong information. I have be arguing with them about this. They even have the recording of the conversation and admit that is what I was told. I have emails and text messages which state that. Now they will not do anything to fix it. I get told well we told you that but there’s nothing we can do.

Bait and Switch

Looked into buying some furniture, not super expensive and Bread said to apply for financing. I clicked the link and applied and I received an email stating that it I was pre-approved for up to $2,500. Great, I think, so I go back to shop. I select $1,800 in merchandise & check out. Bread immediately declines me.
Ridiculous.
(And by the way, I can easily pay cash for the furniture)
