Invalid seller contact phone number

PayPal provides a number to contact the seller of an item in case you want to contact the seller. Seems to me PayPal doesn’t verify the phone number that the seller gives them because Number I had was no good and I contacted PayPal and asked them to verify and they said they’re not allowed to call. It is ridiculous. They don’t verify the numbers of the sellers so you can cancel and they can just give any number. PayPal seems to favor the seller.

Extremely Poor Protection & Ignored Evidence — Lost All Trust in PayPal

I’ve been a PayPal user for years, but my recent experience has completely destroyed my confidence in their service. An unauthorized transaction appeared on my account for a digital item from a merchant I have never used and have no account with. I reported it immediately, removed all payment methods, and told PayPal clearly that it was not my purchase.

Despite this, PayPal ignored my messages, refused to treat the payment as unauthorized, and even sent incorrect automated emails claiming they had charged a “backup credit card” that I do not have. I had removed every funding source from my account, yet PayPal still processed the transaction and forced money out of my bank card.

Their customer service gave contradictory information, closed my case without explanation, and refused to provide any meaningful support. The merchant also refused to help, and PayPal still sided with them without sharing any proof that I supposedly received anything.

In the end, I had to open a dispute with my bank because PayPal failed to protect me, failed to investigate properly, and failed to stop an unauthorized charge — even after I warned them.

PayPal’s Buyer Protection is unreliable, their system messages are inaccurate, and their support feels automated and dismissive. I expected security and trust. Instead, I got stress, lost money, and total disregard for my concerns.

Extremely disappointing service. I will avoid using PayPal whenever possible from now on.

DONT USE PAYPAL

take anything from this it should be: NEVER USE PAYPAL wish I could give negative stars bc they don’t even deserve 1. If u like your $ being taken, your acc being permanently banned due to not fault of your own, but PPs mistake, being lied to by employees, & getting degraded this is the company for you! PP is the/had the worst company, worst customer service, worst employees, worst policies, worst everything. PP permanently banned my acc due to someone sending me $ from outside of the US. They don’t have the friends/family option only goods/services, evidently that was fraud to PP so they limited my acc DUE TO NO FAULT OF MY OWN. The only thing I was able to do while acc was in review was receive $ which is ironic seeing as they’re now keeping my funds for up to 120 days, OR they’ll keep it “to cover things like chargebacks or other financial liabilities.” to get my acc unbanned they wanted me to provide info on my business….. a business that doesn’t exist bc I don’t own a business so unfortunately for me I couldn’t provide the info, which I explained to the rude useless lady I spoke to, the 1 that lied to me. Evidently she “escalated my case so it would be reviewed by end of day” come to find out she said that just to shut me up bc her coworker the other man I spoke to 2nd told me “that’s not true it takes 3-5 business days. She didn’t escalate anything.” Why does PP hire liars? Shed talk over me like she couldn’t hear me talking&continued to talk over me, even though I was STILL talking. I am writing to express my concern and…

I am writing to express my concern and disappointment regarding recent changes to my account. I did not authorize my account to be converted or rolled over into a credit card account. The terms and structure of this new account are significantly different from my previous one.

On my September statement, there were no interest charges, and my special financing agreements were clearly listed with specific amounts and due dates to avoid interest. However, since PayPal changed my account without my authorization, the purchases made after the September statement are now no longer covered under those special financing terms. Instead, they have been added to my existing special financing balance of approximately $2,700, which I had planned to pay by November 10.

This change was not part of my financial planning, and I find the way this account “upgrade” was implemented non-transparent and unauthorized. I have been a loyal customer for many years and have maintained excellent credit, but this experience has left me deeply disappointed.

Please review my account and restore it to its original financing terms prior to this unauthorized change. If this cannot be resolved promptly, I intend to pay off my remaining balance and close my PayPal account.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your prompt response.

These guys are pure scum

These guys are pure scum. So I call paypal on behalf of my mother's account to help her get her limitation lifted, which they dead. I also had mentioned that her bank had nothing else they could do about a chargeback that was made by her but she didnt know it was men when she had made it.

The next morning, i get an email about my account saying that im now limited because of a customer who had an issue with me.

DID THEY JUST BAN ME FROM A PHONE CALL I MADE?

How in the world is this even ok.
$800 still locked since July 24th, they say im a risk, but I have 2 months of the same transactions and zero people sending to me.

If you have the option to use something else do it. Don't touch this service. In the end, the guy at risk management asks me all of these questions, to make a determination. He was never going to unlock my account. I think i hurt his feelings too. Poor fellow. Guy sounded more white than a triscuit dipped in egg shell colored paint.

Either way, im looking to show homeland security it was for me to make an account and move funds with a social that had typo in it.

As long as my money is locked, I'll make sure I do whatever I can to annoy then living *** out of paypal, because I didnt do a single thing fkn wrong, and they got to keep the rent money I had for myself and two elderly parents.

The people who initially answer the support line I believe dont have the mental capacity to use a microwave and heat up popcorn. I really believe they are slaves. I'm not joking here. Or, from the rhythm of speech, and limited vocabulary, I believe they could all be children with some sort voice recalibration software which possibly also translates
I've called over 20 times in the last 2 weeks, and its like I get the same male or female each time.

Paypal are trash.
Give me my money and I'll say other wise. Because dammit I really like this service been using it since 2017 but all a sudden I'm a security risk?
So bogus its a joke. Im willing to forgive and forget if you could just make things right.

They INSTRUCTED me to even put more cash on to unlock my funds and it didn't happen. They took the funds and didn't allow me to withdraw.
