Broke both of my PC’s. A pair of incompetent cowboys.
I had two very good Apple Macs that were a few years old but nevertheless functioning well. The only issue was I couldn’t use MS word anymore. Ian assured me this wasn’t a problem, they would update the hard drives. To cut a long story short they broke both screens and left me with nothing. One PC was returned with a huge crack (they initially replaced with another second hand PC but this didn’t work ) and then said ‘ Oh, we’ve been having some problems with our suppliers.’ They took this PC away. The other larger PC is unusable because the screen is pixelating intermittently and an expert told me they had fitted the screen incorrectly. Wish I had the EXPERT around in the first place. He actually told me there was nothing wrong with what PC Repair House had done internally, they had just broken the screen fixings. They did refund me most of the payment I had made but refused to compensate me for rendering both PC’s unusable. They said the PC’s had some problems, but they had told me in the first place if they weren’t suitable for the update they would let me know. They completely washed their hands of me so I had to buy two new PC’s. They said ‘ You live to far away and we’re losing money.’ Absolutely appalling. Cowboys.

We are sorry to read your continued disappointment, Joanne.
For clarity to others reading: the iMacs in question were both over 7 years old and classed as “obsolete” by Apple, meaning no official updates, support, or trade-in value were available. Both machines also had degraded drives — the smaller system in particular had a confirmed failing hard drive and was taking an extremely long time to boot. While the visible symptom may have been Microsoft Word not working, this was due to underlying hardware issues, not a simple problem. We also took additional steps to secure Joanne’s data safely.
During the work, one unit unfortunately developed a worsening screen crack and a replacement sourced from our supplier also proved faulty. The larger iMac did receive a new SSD and operating system but still showed intermittent screen symptoms not always present during our checks. We also left a brand new 1TB SSD in this machine at no charge, so Joanne could retain her data or pursue further repair elsewhere if she wished.
We understand Joanne later consulted another technician, though from her description it appears not all the underlying issues with these ageing systems were acknowledged.
Some aspects of the process highlighted that our service and Joanne’s expectations were not fully aligned. We advised that a replacement iMac should have a minimum of 512GB of storage to accommodate her usage, but a smaller-capacity system was purchased instead. When concerns about storage later arose, we were able to confirm that the correct advice had been given in writing from the outset.
We are genuinely disappointed that a more positive outcome could not be reached. Joanne herself was always pleasant to deal with in person, and it is unfortunate that despite our efforts — including multiple visits (over 150 miles of travel) and ultimately issuing a full refund covering all fees paid — her expectations and the results did not align.
We appreciate this process has been frustrating for the customer, but we feel we acted transparently and fairly throughout. Our 500+ five-star reviews across Trustpilot and other platforms reflect the service most customers experience, and we remain committed to providing fair, professional solutions wherever possible.
Excellent service
Ian responded to my emails quickly and then arranged for me to drop the machine into the shop the next day. He kept me updated throughout the process and even kept the shop open after closing hours so I could collect the machine the same day. A top man and I would definitely recommend their services.

Bespoke desktop build
Ian and James are first class, they built me a bespoke desktop as my old system was Windows 10 and not compatible for Windows 11. They transferred all of my software data and then James set up the full system on a home visit and made sure I was aware of any concerning issues. All seamless and most professional I really cannot recommend these guys enough and great value for money too - many thanks.

DISGUSTING SERVICE
SAID MY LAPTOP WAS A UNECONOMICAL REPAIR AS IT NEEDED A NEW HARDRIVE AND QUOTED ME £200 TO FIX. I FOUND A U-TUBE VIDEO THAT EXPLANED EXACTLY WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS.I AM 81 YEARS OF AGE BUT WAS ABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM MYSELF WITHIN 2 MINUTES NO PARTS REQUIRED.THE HARDDRIVE HAD BECOME DISCONECTED, I REMOVED THE 2 SCREWS ON THE COVER PLATE AND PUSHED IT BACK INTO ITS SOCKET DEAD SIMPLE FIX JOB DONE.USE THIS COMPANY AT YOUR OWN PERIL.

Thank you for your feedback although I find it odd for someone to complain so strongly about a service that never took place. We have neither seen nor diagnosed your machine. No money has changed hands.
You submitted a Checkatrade enquiry on 30th January reporting an error code which suggested your HD was either disconnected (unlikely) or failing (a common issue).
Over the course of a short phone call, you were advised this, as well as our range of charges and potential repair costs should the drive require replacement.
Your laptop was not diagnosed as we do not do this over the phone. This is a process that occurs in our repair centre or with an on-site technician.
You were informed that the machine was most likely beyond economical repair due to its age (2010 era) and our experience with this type of error. You were unable to bring this to us for a diagnostic health check and from memory this was not your primary laptop so the advice was to not progress with any solution from us to avoid a call-out charge.
Congratulations in being the 1 in 1000 to not have a drive failure and well done for fixing this yourself. You have kept a machine out of landfill and avoided having to pay any repair company.
It is a shame that us giving you a telephone estimate of possible repair costs has resulted in a 1 star rating.
I guess it takes all sorts and perhaps some people like to try and damage the reputation of local, independent, small businesses or perhaps you just had a bad day?
Thankfully thousands of satisfied customers would disagree with your rating and hundreds have kindly expressed their satisfaction with services we have actually provided.

A gem of a company
After my computer was scammed I was in total panic mode. I contacted Ian at PC Repair House who advised me to shut down computer and take to them asap. Ian immediately put me at ease with his calmness and professionism and said he will sort it out. What can I say, he was true to his word. A new drive was added and documents and photos that I thought had been lost were reinstated. This is a fabulous shop and the second time I have used. If anyone has a problem, no matter how big or small, Ian explains in a clear and concise manner (especially for a total novice like myself) the action to be taken. Over the moon with my "new" computer. Thank you to Ian and his team.

Amazingly fast and efficient service from nice people
Amazingly fast service. I was in meltdown because my laptop had lost all contact with the outside world following connecting to a budget hotel WiFi and I needed a quick repair for my business. James took under 30mins to get the replacement driver and update installed and get it all functioning again. This has saved me so much worry and I can not thank them enough. Fantastic place that I thoroughly recommend.

Diagnosed laptop and replaced hard disk
I was worried about calling a pc repair shop to fix our laptop but their Facebook advert said no fix no fee. Ian was very helpful on the phone and was able to visit the same day I called. He fixed the laptop (old hard drive failed), reset everything and was very reasonably priced. Highly recommended.

I am in my mid seventies, obviously retired. I am a chartered surveyor. I have kept up with modern technology for the past twenty-five years or more. That is as a user only. I now have a fairly new laptop with windows10.
I have had it for about an year and had endless trouble trying to work it. I was so annoyed with myself not being able to conduct everyday business with out my PC. Every thing was wrong with it. It was too slow. difficulty with internet, e mails, paying my bills surfing the nett and more. You name it and I had trouble with it
I had to do something about it. The PC Repair House was contacted by finding them through the internet. It was very quick.
Ian came in and had a quick look and advised he had to take the machine start from scratch. Which he did and brought it back the next working day in perfect working order. I cannot believe how everything turned round. Ian is a great guy, quite competent, knowledgeable and above all very simple and polite and great customer approach. He was not trying to sell anything. 100% customer satisfaction was his goal. In my case he definitely achieved that.
Without any reservation I recommend 'The PC Repair House"
