Transfer of my first pension went OK., but boy, has it dropped in value over the last couple of months.
My works pension though, continues to grow. How can one provider drop in values when others continue to rise (albeit not by much)

Firstly we're glad to know your first transfer was successfully completed, however we understand that seeing your pension balance fluctuate can be unsettling, especially as you approach retirement.
Please note, Pension values naturally fluctuate due to market conditions, and experiencing these changes can be concerning, however, market volatility is a natural aspect of investing.
Historical events such as the downturns in 1999, 2008, 2020, and 2022 have demonstrated that while markets can experience significant declines, they have also shown resilience and the capacity to recover over time. It's important to remember that market recovery can take time and it’s impossible to foresee when markets will bounce back.
PensionBee's medium and high-risk plans have historically targeted assumed growth rates of 5-7% over a five-year minimum investment period. Although past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results, historical trends suggest that staying invested over the long term increases the likelihood of positive returns.
It's important to remember that pensions are directly tied to global markets; and when markets are highly volatile this will be reflected in your pensions as they may react more strongly to conflicts that impact energy prices, or involve key global regions. That includes the Middle East, which exports a lot of global oil and gas. However, market volatility is often short-lived.
