Ask your Vet first who to microchip your pet with. Use a trusted agency.

I registered my little dog a while back, thinking it was all legit through Petchip and now I'm getting a renewal notice from them saying the registration has expired and they want me to pay them for renewal.

It was only through asking my vet to scan my dog's microchip and I was shocked to learn there was no record of her microchip number. So then I went through a proper agency that the vet recommended, and all is good now for my pups lifetime, (Australasian Animal Registry) as I'm in Australia.

Fortunately, I paid through PayPal who refunded my money straight away, however, the saddest thing is, if your dog does get lost, and there's no record of their number because of these scammers, how are you going to reunite with your loved pet?

Please do your research and ask your Vet who they recommend, as there's nothing sadder than a lost dog looking for their heartbroken owners.

PETCHIP ARE SHAMEFUL SCAMMERS

I wish I'd have known this before about petchip. I too thought I'd hot petrac but went on to do this at the end it said about a renewal every year I tried to contact them many times but no response. This was December 2022 now had a reminder about renewing and my pets number is unregistered and could face a £500 fine. I've spoken to PayPal today about refund but they can't refund as too long ago but I didn't know it was a scam till I went on trust pilot 2 days ago. Now I have to try to register my pup ASAP. Its disgusting the way these people operate. PayPal have assured me no payments will go out and not to respond to the email from petchip. PayPal were very helpful but I still have to pay again and no refund. I'd like to thank PET CHIP for being complete a..h...s

Scam Exploiting Our Furry Friends.

As with others, I've also received an email claiming to be from these people containing both my details and that of my pet.

It seems many of us registered with the same other companies so there's maybe a security breach at said company and this one is either involved or exploiting it.

The fact they've not registered with TrustPilot and have over 99% 1* feedback should tell you all that you need to know.

Additonally their domain registration is private and if you attempt to check their email it says the server isn't correctly configured: no legitimate company would do either of these and they're two typical methods online scammers use to attempt to mask their dubious activities.

There's a similiar sounding company that could be the same people whose registration with UK Companies House is overdue and makes Al Capone look legitimate, (including a motion to strike, accounts overdue, and other dubious records).

What's concerning is they're also paying for advertising and boosted listings on Google.

Don't put your furry friends at risk and check with your registered vet and trusted sites.

SCAM avoid at all costs.......

SCAM avoid at all costs.......I have just received an email from PETCHIP.INFO informing me that my dog's chip has 'EXPIRED' - I felt sure that the fee I originally paid for my dogs chip was for his whole lifetime. Did a bit of searching back and found that when we originally registered our puppy we were taken in by PETCHIP.INFO but having got suspicious we realised it was a scam and had the payment returned by PAYPAL. Their email asking for a renewal fee looks very genuine because it actually quotes our dog's real chip number - I was nearly taken in again but thought it seemed an odd time for it to expire - neither a year or say 18months after first issue. Be very aware of this 'company' and google them - everything about them screams SCAM!!!! As mentioned before I have only given 1 star because Trustpilot doesn't let you give ZERO stars.

SCAM

Like everyone else I received an email from petchip regarding owing them an annual payment. As I got my dog from a shelter I don’t pay annually so I responded by email to let them know but had no response from them. This morning I contacted PETtrac who I am actually registered with and they advised me that Petchip is a scam. I’ve sent an email to Petchip asking them to delete all records they have of me and my dog and will go to Trading Standards if I done receive confirmation that they have done so.
I’m absolutely sick of having to protect my self from scam after scam.

Total Scam - check your registration documents!!

Same as everyone else. My cat is registered with Petlog premium/The Kennel Club for life. Received email last night from Petchip ‘…will soon display "unregistered animal" in all affiliated websites and databases.’ Total scam. Disgusting.

Scam

I received an email saying my cat’s microchip was expiring. I have never registered with this company, but they have all my details, name, email address, telephone number, my cat’s name and microchip number. I called Petlog, who I am registered with and they confirmed that my cat is registered with them. How did this company get my details? Petlog confirmed that no information is shared with anyone else. It’s worrying that they have so much information

Yesterday evening I received the same scam, the details of my dog was correct from the date of birth to the microchip number ,to get this information, they must have use of petchip database, why is this information available,or is it an inside job, from an employee, this needs to be secure information

Simply a scam

Simply a scam. Blackmail customers about microchip in pet going to *expire* and your pet will become unregistered unless of course you pay extra.

Scammers preying on unwary

If I could give these scammers zero I would. Like so many others we got an email from them with all our dog's info correct and saying the dog would be removed from all affiliated data bases unless we renewed.
We paid the $AUD43.95.
Later I realised we had been scammed. I contacted the official data base register here in Australia. There is no renewal fees. They told me plenty of ppl get scammed by them.
I contacted my bank about it. They reversed the payment. They had heard of them. Then I cancelled the credit card because they had my details.
A painful experience.
So stay away from these scammers people.

Same as all these complaints

Same as all these complaints, in Canada. Yesterday received notice my cat’s chip would no longer be read. I am with Peeva. There is no renewal it is lifetime. What I don’t understand is how Petchip obtained my email, cat’s name, birthdate and chip number. Foolishly made payment of $49.95 CDN through Paypal then thought better of it and started investigating. Contacted PayPal and they reversed the payment within an hour. I contacted the rescue that had chip inserted. They use a company called Petpoint to transfer the chip. Something is off about this whole process. Zero rating. Waiting to see if this will happen with my other cat.

SCAM

I wrote a review, and then deleted it - I am reinstating it now because this company is clearly the same as 'petchipdetails.uk' who took my money a year ago, fraudulently and have today asked me to pay my renewal fee. I found them originally because my old vet didn't seem to have registered one of my dogs' chips. (In fact they had). Anyway, nothing was registered at all. This isn't only a rip off and a scam, but is also dangerous. If a dog got lost or was found dead, the chip would be unregistered and the owner not findable. It's cruel and appalling. They've been emailing me back getting very stroppy, 'how dare I' suggest they're a scam.

A year after registering my pup's…

A year after registering my pup's microchip I have received an expiration notification (unexpected as this is not the first microchip that I have registered).
It appears that I was victim to a scam as I checked the gov.uk registry which reported that the microchip number in question had 'not yet been assigned to an animal'.
I don't know how this happened, I consider myself very tech aware and can spot fake emails, websites and phishing communications a mile off.
I have since paid again to correctly register the microchip and despite trying to contact petchip info I have received no response.
Be very aware, if this can happen to me then it can happen to anyone. Don't ever agree to pay yearly to keep an animal 'registered'.

Avoid this company at all costs

Avoid this company at all costs. If you’re worried use Petlog.com you pay once and that lasts for life and it is one of the UK’s biggest microchip databases. There is no such thing as microchip renewal. Do not pay these people a penny.
