I can't give it a full five stars because they turned me down on a claim saying that what my dog had happened before I had insurance but they don't know that. My dog has a wart on his eye and I told... See more

I have had pets best for over 3 years
I have had pets best for over 3 years, customer service is horrible, and on a $800 wellness they reimbursed $200, on a $1200, vet bill the say they are reimbursing $150. This insurance is a scam. $100 per month for three years would have been better in a savings account for my dogs health. Put your money in the bank not in their fat pocket.
Annual Health Appt
Annual Health Appt
We filed a claim for our dogs annual health checkup. While not all of the claim was covered by insurance, a portion was. It was easy to submit the claim on line and Pets Best responded rapidly to the claim.

I always hope that I never have to use it but I'm absolutely elated that I have this coverage for my dog Ruby Rhod. My dobermans have always been a large part of my life as I am every part of theirs. Over the years my dobermans have delt with cancer, cardiomyopathy, diabetes basically every thing that can happen to dogs when they reach their elderly ages and we have always made it a point to make sure that they have the coverage that they needed so we are able to give them the care they deserve. I have had other coverages and Pets Best is by far the best one out here. Thanks for helping keep my furry family together.

I pay quite a bit of money to this insurance and I haven’t put in many claims, but every time I do, they get denied. This is concerning and I am considering to switch companies.
Everyone is willing to help
Everyone is willing to help. I get fast friendly service and they answer all my questions.
Best Pet Insurer
I've been insured by PB for over 3 years and have found their pricing to be very reasonable and most importantly, servicing on claims to be fast and exceptional. Like all pet insurance, you get what you pay for as I go for max coverage with minimal co-pays.
Good but could be better
I switched to Pets Best due to cost and more coverage. However, they take forever to process claims. I started in December 2025 and already had to call multiple times. The main customer service only gives scripted responses. I had to speak with supervisors just to get clear answers. Their website is clunky and not customer-friendly. I consistently get errors when trying to upload simple PDF files from my vet for my claims.
Good response time
Good response time. It seems I pay a lot more annually than I get in return. Reevaluating.
Dissatisfied with account access on web and mobile.
Our dog has been Pets Best insurance member for over a month now. The mobile app does not allow me to log in to our account. It never has worked. I have deleted the app and reinstalled. Still no access. The website doesn't allow me to logon. It never has. We are getting annoyed and have discussed changing insurance. I have been calling almost weekly to get access but have not been satisfied with results.

I find there's not much change from last year. I believe Melissa had mentioned at the end of last year that there was a technology migration for overall better service. Too me it looks as if the migration is still migrating! The website takes for ever to load and when it does functionality drags. No, it's not my computer. I have high speed internet and a new quality system. That being said the other issue I found is that claims seem to have moved a bit quicker but where is my cash? PetsBest gets their premiums on time regularly but lag in getting mine. Last issue, amount paid per claim, now unless I missed it the amounts paid out haven't changed since I joined. A wellness exam is quite expensive these days and their payout is a small fraction. Hopefully PetsBest will upgrade their tech issues and their payout amounts this year and going forward.
Fast hassle free claims service
Fast and Efficient Service
Pet Best quickly responds to my submission of a claim and after review sends a check within a weeks time or explains those that are not covered. Excellent service.
Endless Delays and Unacceptable Customer Service
I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Pets Best. The claims process has been beyond frustrating. Despite multiple vets sending records several times, they continue to claim they “still need documentation.” It feels like a delay tactic rather than an actual review process.
Customer service has been unhelpful and repetitive, with no clear answers and no real resolution. Every time I call, I get a different response, and nothing actually moves forward. When you’re dealing with a sick pet and thousands of dollars in vet bills, the last thing you need is constant runaround and poor communication.
I purchased insurance for peace of mind, but instead I’ve dealt with stress, delays, and lack of transparency. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company.
Really read all things related before giving this company your money
I paid six months at $232 for 5 pets because it sounded smart. I have a dog, that has a pre existing condition of a torn ACL. Policy state that they cannot cover pre-existing conditions until you have paid for 6 months. I was like, great.Let's do this. Also, I'd like to mention that this company was sponsored by my husband's union. So It felt legit. We don't make the type of money to really afford that, but we did it. Because we love our animals. So the day after I make my six month payment, I test it out on my oldest cat just because she hasn't seen the vet in some time. Needed some shots. Also a WELLNESS checkup. She is going through this phase though where she will poop or P outside the litter box. Not all the time, just sometimes.
She literally taught the other cats how to pee in the litter box. So while we're at the vet, I ask about it. The conclusion he came to, she's probably dehydrated, and it's hard for her to get into the litter box. She's a bit bigger than she used to be.And she's old! Not a big deal that's not why I brought her. But the vet decided to give me liquid prozac to give to my cat to see if that would help with her going potty outside of the litter box. That did not make any sense to me. I'll be honest, so I just threw it away. But I did pay for it, and in fact, this whole experience cost three hundred and fifty dollars, but I thought it's going to be okay because I have pet insurance! Also I got to make sure my sweet baby is healthy. So I turned my claim in. And I wait and wait and wait. Then, I get a message 2 months later saying that the vet Did not write my cat's name on the claim? And I need to resubmit, I also noticed that my wellness claim was turned into behavioral. I didn't do that, somebody changed it! So I resubmitted the receipt for proof and also ask why does it say behavioal issues is my claim? No reply. 2 more months go by and I'm being asked to upload her medical records. Unfortunately, the vet I go to is an animal hospital also, they do not carry files any longer than a year. My cat has not seen a vet in many years. I finally get an email saying my claim has been decided that it is not refundable up to 90%, as stated. In fact, my claim has been denied. Heartbroken, because I really needed that money back. And I was counting on, six months ago. I will tell you that was the biggest waste of money I have ever invested in. I called that day and cancelled coverage. I explained why, there was no trying to help me solve the problem. There was no possible solution to help maybe reimburse the money I put in for no reason. I just made a really bad choice. It sucks
Been waiting for this resolution for a…
Been waiting for this resolution for a year. Unable to get payment reciept confirmation, or funds sent to a different bank account. They just tell me "the payment was never sent back by bank" WELL WHERE IS THE $200 I WAS SUPPOSED TO RECIEVE. it's surely never hit my bank account. Further, the pet's best website gave vet office's that would supposedly acccept direct payment but I was quite shocked to find out that the vet had absolutely no idea what I was talking about, and all services would be paid for upfront, with reimbursement later. THE entire reason I selected pet's best was because I was under the impression they had direct payment to the vet. All a lie, all a scam. Bank has absolutely no record of payment ever being sent. The customer service people are nice, but offer no real help. Have asked for emails for confirmation or receipt of payment being sent, was told it would be emailed. Never received.
Pets Best saves the day
Pets Best saves the day - again! Our Bella had knee surgery and we submitted the very expensive vet bill on Wednesday and received notification of the payment on Saturday! Always very prompt claims service, which is why we have been very satisfied clients for 10+ years. Thank you as always Pets Best!
I absolutely love Pets Best
I absolutely love Pets Best. I used to be a member of Healthy Paws, but I'm glad I made the switch. Sometimes my claims are handled fast, I think the longest I've waited was 20 days. My hope is that my premium stays reasonable and continues to protect my angel baby until the end.
Easy to use, quick for reimbursement
Very easy to file claims. Customer service, when I have used them, is helpful and responsive. Claims can sometimes take a bit of time, but they always do a good job of communicating what might be slowing the process down. Reimbursement is seamless too!
Mediocre
While I did not have a negative experience, Pets Best takes an exceeding long time to process claims, and I still have not received my payout from my most recent claim. I also don't like that the EOB gives you minimal information to figure out questions regarding your claim
Still unable to access my account…
Still unable to access my account through the web portal. I have used several browsers on my desktop, laptop and phone and I still receive the following error - 403 Forbidden
Microsoft-Azure-Application-Gateway/v2. This is not soley my issue since I have read many posts about the lack of access to the website so I think it is unfair to place blame elsewhere and not work to find a solution.
