Very disappointed with Body Building Products. Waste of money.

I purchased the Philip KIngsley Body Building shampoo and conditioner because it claimed to "pack volume and bounce into fine or limp hair". The products did no such thing - they made my hair soft and floppy with no noticeable increase in volume! Very disappointing and a waste of my money.

Customer service was good products caused scalp irritation.

Customer service was good but after buying their shampoo and conditioner the it effect my scalp and was irritated for a week they would not refund me or replace with something else as I purchased from Boots and not direct from them but it was still a Philip Kingsley product I do not understand their logic. I wish I had looked the reviews before buying. Never again

We are very sorry to hear about your experience and that your scalp felt irritated after using the products. That is certainly not the experience we would expect.

While we are glad to hear our customer service team was helpful, we understand how disappointing this situation must feel. As your purchase was made through Boots, refunds or exchanges do need to be processed directly with the retailer in line with their returns policy, which is why we were not able to arrange this for you ourselves.

That said, we would really like the opportunity to help further, whether that’s recommending more suitable alternatives for your scalp or discussing your experience in more detail. Please feel free to contact our team directly so we can support you.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.

With kind regards,
The Philip Kingsley Team

Bond Builder Lipid Shield

I have used Philip Kingsley’s Bond Builder Lipid Shield for over a year. I have also used other well known brands that suit my hair. If you have fine, frizzy type hair that split’s easily and is coloured this product is a game changer. It can be used anytime to tame frizz without oil or grease. It leaves shiny healthy looking strands. I love it.

Dreadful customer service team. Up to 15 days to trace returns.

Like a number of other customers, the online experience with Philip Kingsley was hopeless as was the girl I spoke to at customer services. They just don’t care. Getting any help returning the item was a nightmare and now that I have and Royal Mail says it arrived on 5 September, they still can’t tell me if the warehouse has received it or not. According to them it takes 10 to 15 days to process the returns. Dreadful service. Will buy in John Lewis or others in future. Why should they think it’s ok to hold onto my money for so long.

DANGEROUS SUBSTANCES FOUND IN INGREDIENTS

My mother introduced me to Phillip Kingsley. I grew up using the product when MR. Kingsley was alive. It's been years since I have used the product, and decided to return back to what I believed was a safe product for all hair types. But unfortunately I googled the key ingredients very recently before using and found a very toxic agent in shampoo and conditioner called PHENOXYETHANOL. I researched this immediately, only to find that it causes CANCER. Please Google this and see for yourself. Google phenoxyethanol side effects. knowledge can save you life. I have now thrown this away. Thank you and please stay safe and be careful as to what you use on and inside your body. UK UPDATE; the company have now removed the brands ingredients from the internet because they know about the toxicity of the product and the harm it can do to mothers who breast feed their babies. How utterly disappointing.

DO NOT BUY - CHEMICAL BURN ON SCALP

Please please please do not buy from this brand!!! I recently purchased the Flaky Itchy Scalp Toner and it has left me with a CHEMICAL BURN on my scalp!!! Customer service extremely unhelpful and seemingly trying to bury my complaint taking absolutely no accountability for the severe reaction to the product. Customer service said it is ‘inevitable’ someone will react to their products and maybe my ‘scalp changed colour’ despite me having to seek medical advice from a professional to try and relieve both the pain and burn itself. Awful product and company won’t be purchasing anything from them again

the itchy scalp shampoo is useless

unfortunately their products are not as they used to be. I was using the itchy scalp shampoo 7 years ago and when I used it then, I was quite impressed with it, the results were visible. However I bought it recently and it does nothing and even leaves my hair coarse. They changed the formula probably and a cheap shampoo from the supermarket would do the same job or an even better one. So waste of money, except for they send you some hair styling product sample which is ok, but I would have preferred a shampoo worth the money.

Dear Michaela,

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We’re truly sorry to hear that your recent experience with our itchy scalp shampoo didn’t meet your expectations, especially after having positive results with it in the past.

Hair can change over time, and it’s possible that factors such as scalp condition, hair texture, or external influences may have contributed to a different result after seven years. We’d be delighted to assist you further and help identify the most suitable solution for your needs. Please feel free to email us at reception@philipkingsley.co.uk so we can discuss this further and recommend the best products for you.

Once again, we apologise for any disappointment and appreciate your feedback.

No scent no colour, hair looked beautiful but scalp still irritatedutiful

.Can I firstly say the customer service team have been super nice and are trying to find me something appropriate for my scalp. My hair looked beautiful but thats not why I bought it. I havent returned as I'll try once more once my allergic scalp has normalised. I can not see this being
good for a chemo scalp. I used a sulphate free shampoo after this and my scalp felt much better. I have since found out this product has zero sulphates.

Buyer beware!

Dreadful company run by could-not-care-less people. They seem to rely solely on the previous better reputation when Philip was alive, now it's just a money grabbing race to the bottom while believing their own hype.

Placed a large order, over £100, for guaranteed next-day delivery.

Not only was it four days before it was (allegedly sent) but it wasn't sent next day delivery and has subsequently been lost in transit by Royal Mail.

Customer 'service' at Philip Kingsley could not have been less helpful, suggesting, despite their errors, that it would take at least another two weeks for them to 'look into it'. They do not either seem to understand or care, that it is their responsibility not the customers, to chase up the couriers they chose to use. This is all in the Consumer Rights Act 2015. It's not rocket science.

Just pathetic.

Their contact page states that it takes them 48 hours to reply to enquiries. What are they doing??! Most businesses I know would be out of business if it took 48 hours just to have the decency and common courtesy to reply to customers.
Pretty glacial and shockingly incompetent.

Philip Kingsley just seem lazy and uncaring towards customers.

If you want great products and outstanding customer service, you should avoid Philip Kingsley.

Buyer beware!

DON'T ORDER

DON'T ORDER. Not Brand Quality Backed By Service
My wife was a regular customer for expensive products. Customer service has got worse and her last £120 order for 2 items was due to include additional product. This was missed by them in dispatch (or they could not fulfil). She raised with CS to be told due to their Environment policy they would not dispatch the product missed in error but needed effectively to place another order rather than them fulfil the original !. What a scam. As a result she is now returning at her cost the £120 order and will not use again. You have been warned.

Amazing packaging and dispatching speed

Recently I ordered some kitchenware from their website. I was a bit worry about it might be broken during transit. But thanks to their amazing packaging, the items are fine inside the bubble sheet. And they also dispatch the items quickly. I received the items after 3 days of my order date.

amazing packaging and dispatching speed.

Pricey but worth it

The products are amazing, always offering freebies and samples free of charge. Shipping was quick and tracking was provided. Not 5 stars because of just how expensive their products are.

Poor service

Ordered approx £150 products on the 8/1/24. Delivery was meant to be 5 working days and tracking info in 72 hours. I had heard nothing for a week and so emailed them on 15/1/24. I had an email on 16/1/24 requesting more information and then 2 emails on 17/1/24 both stating my purchase was with two different delivery couriers and tracking information of which neither worked. I had an email “suggesting” I get the Royal Mail app to track my delivery and that it would be delivered on 17/1/24. On the 18/1/24 I had tracking information from a 3rd delivery company and my purchase arrived late afternoon on the 18/1/24 10 days after purchase and with customer services saying they had dealt with my queries sufficiently as I had been given tracking information.
The purchase was for my wife’s birthday after she had tried the shampoo from a John Lewis advent calendar which is unfortunate. The service was very poor throughout and even though my wife said the product is good we won’t be buying from them again. A premium product should be paired with an acceptable level of service, communication and truth in the messages delivered and unfortunately this wasn’t my experience

BE AWARE OF SHODDY PRODUCTS AND NO WAY TO GET IN TOUCH

I have recently ordered several items from Philip Kingsley. However, one of the products is impossible to use as the spray is unusable and I believe the containers they use are "not fit for purpose". However, the worst thing is that customers who in good faith spent a lot of money with this company cannot get in touch via email because EVERY SINGLE EMAIL I HAVE TRIED IS NOT DELIVERED.....perhaps this is because the UK is just some subsidiary and the company feel they can charge for junk to UK customers.
ORDER NO : 1000351468
At last they responded and confirmed email address for customer services but I do believe I used the email they confirmed as I used every one I could find....however, they say they will be sending a replacement as soon as possible so I wait in hope as their products are expensive but meant to work
