WORST AIRLINE EVER

WORST AIRLINE EVER. Cancelled our flight with less than 24 hours of notice. Making us lose 770 USD and leaving us stranded for 12 hours. When we asked for compensation (phone service didn’t work and we had to file a formal complaint by email) they offered the patetic “compensation” of 150 USD in airline vouchers.

Not Reliable

I have heard before that this Airline often cancelled flights. Usual excuse is engineering issues. When are they going to fix this? But anyway, I finally experience this. It is frustrating , last minute cancellation. All your plans and hotel booking were affected. I wouldn’t recommend this airline.

Philippine Airlines is not suitable for…

Philippine Airlines is not suitable for passengers with special needs, particularly Persons With Disabilities (PWD). My son has a disability that necessitates the use of a specialized wheelchair for mobility. With other airlines, upon arrival, the special mobile chair is typically waiting outside the aircraft door. However, PAL consistently fails to coordinate this with the ground crew.

This issue occurred when we arrived at Manila NAIA Terminal 1, where the special chair was transported directly to the carousel. We had to create a scene to have the chair brought to the door because their available wheelchairs are not suitable for PWD passengers, as most of them lack seat belts. The same situation arose on their domestic flight when we arrived in Roxas City, and again when returning on the flight to San Francisco. We were forced to use an unsafe wheelchair.

Despite our efforts to communicate with the front desk and flight crew, we received no assistance. If you have a family member who requires a special mobile chair, I strongly discourage using PAL for Special Needs PWD passengers. They lack knowledge of the necessary accommodations. We usually choose Eva Air, where we have had no communication problems. Our experience with PAL was a one-time occurrence due to a family emergency.

The WORST airline you can ever get

I would not recommend it to my worst enemy. Has been lying to me for ONE FULL YEAR now about the refund of a flight THEY CANCELLED. Horrible horrible experience, keeps on telling me to wait for an email, 365 days later still waiting for that refund

BAD EXPERIENCE

Delayed flight from Brisbane, they re-arrange passenger’s seats so the crew can sleep alternately in the middle section of economy comfort where chairs are reclined. They made sure to dimmed the lights and turned off the reading lights, call attendant and other controls except the entertainment volume. Food was worse and hard to digest for a first meal of the day. Asked for a warm milk but instead served with a cold one fresh from the fridge?

They cancelled flight last minute on the way back to Brisbane and only found out upon arrival at the airport. Consequently, my business and job suffered for 24 hours delayed flight.

I tried to forget their worse service 25 years ago with my baby son then and gave them another chance for the first time last August 2023. BIG MISTAKE!

NEVER AGAIN FLYING WITH THIS AIRLINE.

I have flew PAL numerous times and the first time was great and the experience was great. The last two times was the worst. I needed to rebook a flight and was told they could not do so sir we will look at other flights sir thank you sir. No sir can’t do that sir. Ok so off I go to Tokyo I look for flight a low and behold a flight from narita to Vancouver. So I ask to book the flight and didn’t mind double back or paying the excess to upgrade seat. All I got was no sir can’t do that sir. I was ok so now I want a refund. Ok sir stay with me sir. A refundable ticket will cost you $100 to refund sir like if it says refundable it’s refundable 100% no take backs. Honestly after all this I am so done with even flying into Manila. Don’t even get started with lines a multi national airport and you have 25 lanes of lines just for security check in the four operational pieces of equipment. I swear Filipinos like lineups for sure everywhere you go it’s line to this person to this person to this person just to get a no sir. As beautiful as Philippines 🇵🇭 is take the money and find an exact same beach with same exchange rate and you still would be hands down better then dealing with anything relating to phillipines airlines.

Customer service keeps hanging up or leaving on hold with no return

Customer service keeps hanging up on my wife, and they leave me on hold without coming back. I'll have to go through a more formal complaint procedure with the transportation department and other agencies as needed to work out the issue, sadly. It's just not okay to hang up on customers and ignore the issue when they promised my wife a refund and said the process was started in April 2023. It's August 2023 now. Very sad their customer service ignores their customers.

What a terrible organization.. Philippines Airlines

We have been waiting 4 months for our Refund. It has been confirmed by PAL that we will receive the refund. That's the good news!

Only, it has now been 4 months of tugging to get the money back. Today I was told, that I could apply via a form and then they will "retake" the application.

Unbelievable that companies like this still exist. 90% of trustpilot gives 1 star. @PAL..Don't you guys care about service at all? My question remains open "when will I receive my refund".

So bad they are criminal

Flew from Bangkok to Bacolod with Philippine airlines.

Before flying my flight times were changed constantly. Ended up getting home a day late, and having to pay for hotel for the night in Manila. Which Philippine airlines refused to pay for as they think a 10 hour layover is reasonable.

I paid extra for an aisle seat in an emergency exit row, and then paid extra again for the seat next to me to be vacant. Got on to find I was sat in a regular window seat with the seat next to mine. Requested a refund still not received.

Worst trip taken Never fly Philippine Airlines again..!!

Filipino's are renowned for excellence in customer service and person to person customer care..!! Not so with Philippine Airlines..Just back from Philippines we checked in Perth Airport the lady was rude up herself and damn ignorant, kept speaking Tagalog to my wife after asking multiple times to speak in English she reluctantly did so with a dirty look and service went further down hill from there, everything was extra scrutinized..!!..Service on the plane was below par for an International flight, asking for water or a drink was met with scour face..!1 Meals were very very average..Check in from NIIA lady was so so so pleasant to deal with complete difference from Perth...Airline crew again scour faced why be in a job if you dont like it..!! The Inflight entertainment.? Movies old music outdated, maybe Filipinos are ok with sub par services, westerners however want value for their money..!!They call the Airlines Filipino heart of Philippines...for Filipino's....NEWS BREAK: 75% travellers are Westerners...they are paying to keep your planes in the air..!! Wont fly again with them rather my 2 hour stop over in Singapore...at least same price if not cheaper Singapore airlines and 100% better service and smile..!!
Just a real crappy flight there and back..!! Lesson learned..!!

Unfortunate experience

Unfortunately, I will not be able to recommend PA to anyone. All the flights are pricy and from my experience get delayed often. We once had to wait more than 15 hours at the Manila Airport because our flight to Tokyo got delayed. And we were not even offered a free snack or drink while we were waiting! I hope the airline that represents my country for the whole world will improve its standards soon.

PAL is the absolute worse Airline in the world

PAL is the absolute worse Airline in the world. Not very accommodating and will cancelled your flight without further notice and explanation. The flight was supposed to be 6am then we received email confirmation thst it was cancelled and was moved to a later hour. After waiting for a few hours and was ready to board then PAL sent us another email confirmation that it was cancelled again and will wait for another few hours then we asked the staff to transfer us to another airlines due to having appointments but they werent able to help us. One staff told us that there was a problem on the aircraft and we asked another staff what was the problem and the answer is different the other staff said the aircraft hasn’t arrived yet. This it an absolutely lies from the staffs, the delayed tactics of this airline company to rob peoples money and waste their time. Never again and never ever book a flight on PAL. They will never care and will never help you or give you some kind of complimentaries

Irresponsible airline and non-existing…

Irresponsible airline and non-existing customer service!
We were traveling from Xiamen to Calgary. Brought the flight tickets dated 2023.06.29 from XIAMEN to Manila (Flight PR335) connecting to the next flight from Manila to Vancouver (Flight PR116), and finally from Vancouver to Calgary (Flight Y9 107).
We were notified our flight PR116 was canceled within 24 hours' notice, Philippine Airlines put us on another flight which was 11 hours later than our original schedule. We arrived in Vancouver on June 30th, and there is no way we can catch our flight from Vancouver to Calgary dated June 29th, we have been tagged as a "No-Show" for flight (Y9 107). I had to buy new flight tickets from Vancouver to Calgary on the spot with a whopping total of $CAD 816.88.
I tried to contact Philippine Airlines through their "We Care" channel and not a single response for over a month.
I tried their Facebook chat at least 20 times and all they saying is "Send them another email, and you will surely get a response the next morning". And you know what, there is ZERO response the next day, not even the next week.

You thought you are getting a good deal by flying with Philippine Airlines, but you end up paying so much more when they screw up and had no communication from their "We Care" team.

UNRELIABLE - NEGATIVE EXPERIENCE

in march 2023 i decided to cancel a flight and i started the procedure with whatapp to request a ticket refund. During the conversation I was told that the penalty was 2000 peso per ticket and that they would refund me after 2/3 billing cycles (about 3 months). In June 2023 I asked, given that 3 months had passed, when they would reimburse me, to my great surprise I discover that nothing had been done and a few days after the request I received an email in which I was informed that the penalty was not 2,000 per ticket but equal to 4,000 pesos per ticket. I sent a protest email (attaching a copy of the whatsapp conversation) to the president, commercial director and customer service of the company without any response. Airline to avoid.

Fraud Airlines

We had a flight from Singapore to Manila and from Manila to Kalibo.
The flight from Singapore to Manila has been delayed for 5 hours, therefore we have missed our connection to Kaliba. In Manila the ground team kindly changed our tickets to Caticlan airport because the next available flight to Kalibo was next day.
During check in to that flight to Caticlan, we have asked to the lady at the counter if we can upgrade our ticket to business class in order to use the lounge. She said there is no business class available on the plane but she upgraded us to comfort class and told us that we can use the lounge regardlass. I have paid 70usd per pax for the upgrade . When we approached to the lounge, we have been informed that comfort class passengers can not use the lounge. Since we have already passed the security, I couldn’t go back to the counter and change back my ticket. While we were boarding to the plane, the lady at the gate saw our boarding passes and changed our seat numbers with hand righting without any explanation. When we boarded, the cabin chief told us that he will check for the reason of the change. After his countless tries, ther reason for the change was that as per Phillipine Airlines regulations same day upgrades are not allowed, and he said we have to sit on the new seats which are not comfort class zone. One of the ground crew even claimed that that we counterfeited our boarding passes in order to sit at comfort class. After half an hour commotion, cabin chief offered us the seats, but he said he cannot not offer the services which we agreed and we finally took off. At the end of the day, we had to wait around 5 hours without any explanatations for our delayed flight and then we have been charged 140 usd for a service that we did not receive.

Therefore I want a refund of my money that I paid for upgrade. I have contacted PR customer service online, they keep stalling and stalling saying that they are investigating.

Worst airline ever

Multiple changes to my flight ended in making the layover 24 hours and refusing to provide accomodations and refusing to provide compensation. When I talked to the chat customer service, one of the agents ended the chat suddenly without my approval or consent and the other refused to help me. Avoid this company and do not book with them at all even if the tickets are for free. They keep on lying and don't provide any assistance.

I have to cancel a domestic flight I…

I have to cancel a domestic flight I book online prior to the Jan. 19, 2023 scheduled flight. I was told that I can rebook within 1 year with a processing fee of PHP2,500.

I tried to rebook today, and PAL is asking me to pay at first P7,800 and then it was reduced to P5,000. The original fare was for PHP5,376 (total of PHP8,163 with taxes). When I asked PAL yesterday, I was told that there is no much price difference and to contact them for flight details. I tried to book today, is being charged PHP5,000. I cannot reconcile that the cost to rebook was almost like buying a new ticket. Costly exercise!
