Excellent support and recovery

I have turned to Paul on 3 separate occasion now to treat various different issues I have had. And I cannot compliment him or the service he provides enough. The added bonus being value for money too. I have a number of life challenges for several years and no matter what I had tried nothing had been successful until Paul. Thank you so very much.

Biggest regret of my life

I went to Paul with a specific phobia that had been affecting me for a number of months. I had tried talking therapies but felt I was not progressing further in my sessions. After consulting with Paul via phone and email, I booked a session with him in early January. Since the session, I have been experiencing an extreme awareness of touch, for example the sensation of clothing against my body. This is incredibly irritating and makes every day activities such as walking uncomfortable. I have no prior history of mental illness but as a result of this, have fallen into a deep depression. Due to the physical limitations I now experience and the devastating impact on my mental health, I have been unable to keep up my studies and regular routine. I have moved back in with my parents, unsure what my next step is.

I have been in consultation with various psychologists and psychiatrists since and they have come to a general conclusion that the session with Paul shifted my anxiety around the phobia into a physical sensation. When I initially consulted with Paul prior to the session, he assured me there were no risks associated with hypnotherapy other than the potential that it may not be effective for some. He also never carried out a proper individual assessment to see whether the treatment was suitable for me. While I am sure that Paul has been able to successfully help many people with their phobias, I feel I must share my story as proof that there can be negative outcomes, even if these are rare.

Hello Katrin,

Thank you for your feedback. Apologies for not responding sooner as the clinic has been closed during the lockdown. As I’m sure you can appreciate, we find ourselves in unprecedented times during the COVID-19 pandemic. Patient care and safety is very important to us at all times and therefore temporarily closing the clinic was the most appropriate thing to do.

We remain committed to helping Patients in significant distress; so emergency appointments can be booked after a telephone triage consultation by our Clinical Team. Please call us 0203 086 8444 for further details. Please note we will be running significantly reduced working hours.

I’m sorry to hear that you’re experiencing problems. It would be inappropriate for me to comment on anything specific in an open forum such as this.

We’ve reviewed the initial assessment notes, along with the information you provided on your medical history and patient questionnaire form. And all our case notes from the initial appointment you attended.

I can see that you’ve started treatment and that a follow-up appointment is required but hasn’t been booked as yet.

Even though some phobias can be successfully treated in just one appointment we always recommend that people have a follow-up appointment so we can check how you’re getting on and do any additional treatment that may be required. With more complex issues a number of appointments may be required.

We always do our best to help patients. However, because we’re dealing with human behaviour, results may vary, and sometimes additional appointments may be required.

Does what it says

Absolutely brilliant. I was able to talk to Paul before booking an appointment. He answered my questions and made me feel comfortable about overcoming my fear of flying.

Really good service. Best of all my fear of flying is gone in just 2 appointments! Fab!

Have now done a couple of flights with work and was as Paul said. I was a little nervous at first and then the fear just went away. I've just booked a holiday and feeling excited about going abroad again.

It was so easy I wish I'd found you years ago. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
