Avoid the London fireman as he is a very inexperience new instructor

The tip is in the title. Compulsory Basic Training. Three of us received very little. Our instructor lacked both the experience and confidence in giving training and was new to instructing / providing training. The instructors name was not know, as he did not provide it. He was happy enough to confirm he was a London Fireman that decided to take up giving CBT's as another job to earn additional money. He provided little training at Buckmore Park and lacked so much confidence that he refused to take us out on the road within an hour of arriving at Buckmore Park. He finished the CBT at 2.45pm to (in my opinion) go home early. This was my third CBT and this instructor failed me and suggested I complete further training before trying my CBT again. Annoyed was an understatement, as I rely on my motorcycle as my main job and to earn an income for me and my family and have been riding for two + years. I felt he only wanted to sell further training courses. This guy was an absolute joke. I am not knocking Phoenix as a company and it is clear by other reviews that other instructors are more experienced in providing a CBT day. I went else where locally in Medway and passed. Based on my experience with this inexperienced instructor, I would not recommend. If you are put with the London fireman instructor, expect a negative experience. He provided little training and is very inexperienced. Training is also provided on a hilly environment and I was only able to get out of 1st gear when I was carrying out the emergency break manoeuvre. Based on my experience with this person, I would not recommend Phoenix. If you can, avoid this person, as he lacks experience and confidence to carry out CBT's.

Great experience

Great experience, I was struggling with certain ways of riding during my training but my instructor was very helpful with explaining and focusing on those areas which helped improve. Very much appreciated.

Top Experience

Kept informed of what to do and what was required for the day. Instructor Pete was very helpful and supportive and also updated my step dad on how the course went for me and what he should practice going forward. A long but very worthwhile day. Thankyou.

Nick was very patient with the three of us ..clearly spoken ..had a laugh got the job done made us just feel comfortable ..reassured us the safety factors. Every patient with the two younger fellas myself as a middle-aged gentleman he could see I’ve not ridden for sometime. He made me feel comfortable that it would all come back and he was correct. I felt very comfortable at the end of the session building up my confidence to go back on the road. I will be using Phoenix again to do my full course and get my full license thank you, Nick.

Phoenix Motorcycle Training provided a…

Phoenix Motorcycle Training provided a decent experience overall. The instructors, like Harry and Chris, were helpful and professional, offering clear guidance for riders of all levels. While the training had its highlights, such as friendly instruction and informative sessions, there’s room for a more streamlined process. An average experience, but worth considering.
