Apple IPad Mini 3 - Simple Battery Replacent
Few days ago (July 2026) after seeking opinion advise from local Computer outlet I presented Phone Repair Plus & Vapes Stratford on Avon for a simple iPad Mini 3 battery change at £65.0. I was told it would take 2-hours. On my return I was shown that the pins connecting the IPad to the battery had been damaged (bent out of shape). I was further told to come back tomorrow then received a text asking me to return at 2pm to collect the IPad. At this point I was shown that the button at the bottom front face of the unit was now damaged and it would no longer work! So, the shop had added an APP that would offer a ‘’floating on the screen’’ button to access the menu etc. I had taken (upon advice) a perfectly serviceable IPad for a battery replacement and got it back well damaged. On the IPad I use the Skydemon program to navigate whilst piloting a light aircraft and since the program now does not function reliably to be safe, I am faced with buying a new refurbished IPad 3 Mini. (CEX would not but my Phone Plus & Vapes ruined version!) So, Phone repair gave it me back reducing the initial cost for the battery replacement of £65.0 this went down to £55.00 then finally £40.0!!! So, I went home with a now ‘’rubbished’’ item. I have now purchase a replacement mint IPad Mini 3 at £78.0 (it’s the only type that will fit securely in the aircraft cradle - (so it must have the exact physical dimensions) With ‘’NO THANKS’’ to Phone Repair Plus & Vapes Stratford on Avon, I have paid them £40.0 for the damaged unit and £78.0 for a replacement = £118.0!... had I have been the manager of the shop I would have ‘’openly admitted’ that the Shop has damaged the unit and would have not charged me and, then (out of customer care), offered financial compensation to allow me to buy a replacement unit in as good condition as my own – But, they didn't!!! All it was, was a simple battery change (and when the shop was showing the unit with it flashing and jumping icons on the screen (after the new battery replacement) he told me that the unit was ''Updating'' WHAT????
