No integrity

So... I bought an annual membership a year ago. When renewal came up this month, I told them not to renew. Many emails back and forth over the past 11 days of my repeatedly telling them that I do not authorize the transaction and to discontinue my account. They took the annual fee of $47.55 through PayPal this morning. When I demanded a refund, they sent me a list of hoops to jump through to get a refund on an unauthorized transaction.
I’ve reported them to PayPal and I’m disputing the transaction through my bank.
All this to say: unauthorized online transactions are a thing, even when they guarantee you can discontinue an account/membership.
And don’t do business with PicMonkey. They lack integrity.

BUYER BEWARE! HORRIBLE BUSINESS PRACTICES!

HORRIBLE company to deal with! Even though I cancelled within the 7 day free trial I was charged for a FULL year! There is no phone number to talk to a live person to dispute the charge or cancel the unwanted subscription, or even an address to write a letter. The phone number my CC company gave me for PIC Monkey to dispute the charge had a voice recording that stated to send any inquiries to their help desk, because they do not accept phone calls. So after emailing back and forth, I was told that it was in their right to charge a full $119 year subscription to read the fine print, and to feel free to continue to software I don't want and have tried to cancel from the beginning! Also, there is no where on your account to cancel the subscription! BUYER BEWARE!!! HORRIBLE BUSINESS PRACTICES!

Fantastic service to go with fantastic product

I've been using Picmonkey for over 5 years. It is easy to use, and does fantastic work for social media and blog posts.

I recently got a new credit card and when I went to renew, I noticed my subscription had expired.Mimi from customer service explained in a detailed email what happened when they tried to renew, and provided me with refunds and legacy pricing.

Fantastic service to go with their fantastic product.

Thank You

UNAUTHORIZED CARD USE SCAM!!

Picmonkey charged my credit card TWICE so far without my authorization and never even notified me they were going to charge it! They apparently started charging me January 21st, 2018 and then again they charged me on January 21, 2019. I never even had notice of any sort! I never agreed to a to an upgrade on my free account nor was I even notified my account had been upgraded! I rarely ever used the free account so why would I have wanted to pay to 'upgrade'?! I would have never known if I hadn't logged in to check my credit card as I periodically do. I contacted the customer service and so far have had no response. USERS BEWARE!!

All perfect but worst customer service.

I use Picmonkey since I was little and I think It was the best experience to learn to use professional tools in fun way.
I help my artistic sense to be more better with this program.
The only thing that ruin all this fantastic work about this program is the customer service.
Are 10 days about that I am still waiting a reply.
They tell that they respond in 24h or less, is a LIAR.
I sended an e-mail about a REFUND, but they don't reply, is un-professional way to mantain customers!.
I am really dissappointed.
All is okay, but YOU DON'T HAVE TO CONTACT CUSTOMER SERVICE, BECAUSE IS DOESN'T EXIST!!!

PicMonkey

When I used my free trial up and went a day over into the monthly membership, I expected to be charged the £5.99 I had agreed to, however I looked in my bank account and PicMonkey had charged me £77.88. Not what I signed up for at all. I filled out an account and billing slip on their website but haven't even had an automatic email to say they received my complaint. Neither is there a number on display I can call. An incredibly disappointing experience.

I love the software but the customer…

I love the software but the customer service is terrible. There is no one to reach when you need help right away. It takes days for them to respond to emails. Then they do not have the answers you need. Then when it finally begins to work they cancel your subscription and the only way to renew is to pay twice as much as your previous rate.

The site and what they offer is great

The site and what they offer is great. I have been a paid member for years until they tripled the cost of their membership. I used to pay in the $30 range for a subscription and now it's over $100. You can edit and make fun art on the site. But do you want to share what you did or export it? Fork over the $100+ fee now to do it. That is a HUGE price increase. :( At that price you are better off just forking over the money for a program you own outright.

At one time I loved PicMonkey but not any more.

At one time I loved Picmonkey. As a blogger and content creator, it was flexible and easy to use. Then they got fancy and added features and more useless, confusing, features. I am going back to Canva because this so-called upgraded version absolutely destroys any ability to be creative and customize. This has become a tool for social media hackers and nothing more.

Hi David, and thanks for your feedback regarding our free trial system when using PicMonkey. We're sorry you don't find it up to your expectations!

You can always access our editor and try out all of our features free of charge, but you'll need to either have a subscription or a free trial in order to export or share your creation when completed. We ask for a valid payment method to start a trial so it's easy to convert to a fully paid account once the trial period ends for those users who wish to continue with a PicMonkey membership. Provided the subscription is cancelled within the trial period, your payment method won't be billed monthly or annual membership fees.

All the best,
Chris

Interface is very unintuitive and…

Interface is very unintuitive and confusing with the menus and pictograms. Dirty tricks with automated billing after trial, and if you cancel automatic billing, you cannot finish the trial and they disable your account immediately. Good branding and marketing, which is why they are popular I'm guessing.

Hey Tom,

Thanks for your feedback on PicMonkey! We're working on a major update to our editor which addresses our User Interface and tool layouts. That should be released in the coming weeks, so keep your eyes peeled for that!

As far as our automated billing processes, I'm sorry you feel that we utilize dirty tricks! Rest assured, we try to be as transparent as possible with users through the entire trial process on what they will be billed, and when they will be billed. All users who start a free trial of PicMonkey can cancel at anytime during their seven day free trial and still retain access to paid features for the remainder of their trial time. However, we understand that sometimes even with our best efforts, things can be missed or misunderstood.

If you haven't already, shoot an email to our support team at help@picmonkey.com with any billing related inquiries you may have regarding your account. We'd be more than happy to assist.

All the best,

Chris

Hi Linnea! This scenario sounds like you started a free trial for PicMonkey but inadvertently selected the annual plan instead of the monthly plan, which would explain why you were billed the $71.88 annual instead of the $7.99 monthly charge at the end of your trial.

Our support team would be more than happy to assist in fixing this for you. Just drop us a line at help@picmonkey.com and one of our agents will get this cleared up.

All the best!

Chris
